Intent: To provide the Republic with a battle droid designed to seek out and destroy Vong and Sithspawn. Secondary purpose is to provide the Jedi Academies with advanced security droids.
Development Thread: Treasures of Tython (Laminanium)
Manufacturer: Eshan Industrial Corporation (EIC)
Model: Yuuzhan Vong Hunter 2 Droids (YVH-2)
Affiliation: The Galactic Republic
Modularity: No.
Production: Minor
Material: Laminanium layered over an Impervium Skeletal Structure
Classification: Fourth Degree
Weight: 200KG
Height: 1.85 Meters
Movement: Bipedal
Armaments:
  1. Mounted on Right Arm: Standard droids come with a blaster canon for use.
  2. Mounted on Left Arm: The left arm of the droid comes standard with either (a) heavy laser canon, (b) a sonic rifle, or (c) projectile launcher.
  3. Left Hip: Mounted inside the left hip and accessed when needed is a energy sword (.6 meters in length) for close combat.
  4. Strength: The droids are built along the same design as the original YVH-1 droids and therefore are capable of using their strength as a weapon. They can easily crush light armor in their grasp and can go toe-to-toe with a Vong warrior.
  5. Concealed Grenade Launcher X 2: the old YVH1 had a single hidden grenade launcher behind one elbow, this newer version has one behind each elbow, each holding 2 grenades.
  6. Electroray discharger
  7. Class-C Thermal Detonators: each droid comes standard with 2
  8. Coma gas canisters: Each droid come standard with 2
  9. Self-guiding mini-rockets: Each droid comes standard with 4 (2 on each arm).
  10. Self-destruct protocol: The droids are designed to examine certain battlefield criteria (i.e., amount of damage + likelihood of victory + effect on enemy casualties + likelihood of harming friendlies + likelihood of losing control of system due to tampering/slicing) and determine when it is appropriate to enact their self-destruct protocol. When they do, they will surge into the enemy lines and destroy themselves taking a large number of the enemy with them.

Misc. Equipment:
  1. Anti-Tampering Software: SCINET
  2. Updated and more advance friend-and-foe detection: now capable of identifying newer Vong espionage equipment (e.g., Noxokk suits) thanks to bodies recovered after the Battle of Kashyyyk.
  3. Like the original YVH1 droids, there are specialized versions available such as camouflage droids, aquatic versions, and smaller versions that are used for espionage by being fitted inside the shells of other droids.
  4. Vocoder package: Unlike the originals, which mimic the voice of Lando Calrissian, these newer models have a standard voice package to begin with. Once assigned to a commander, they adapt that commanders voice. They are preloaded with a number of taunts that are meant to infuriate the Vong due to them being walking blasphemies (e.g., typical warcry “We are machines! We are greater than the Yuuzhan Vong!”).
  5. As with the original designs, the YVH2 is programed for “maximum efficiency” (i.e., optimizing enemy casualties while minimizing friendly casualties.

Description: The original war with the Yuuzhan Vong lead to the development of the YVH series of battle droids. While hundreds of years have passed since this time, little has been updated with regards to the YVH droids. With the resurgence of the Vong and their alliance with the One Sith, it has become evident that there is a need for the YVH droids to be updated. As such, Eshan Industrial Corporation has begun development on a new model of YVH droids, the YVH-2 Battle Droids.

The YVH-2 Battle Droids have all the benefits of the original YVH-1 Droids in addition to a few necessary add ons. For a started, the YVH-2 droids, while still made of the Laminanium are now also supplemented with an Impervium Skeletal structure, making them even more damage resistant. Additionally, following the Battle of Kashyyyk, where a number of Noxokk suits were found on dead Vong, the software has now been updated in order to provide optimum friend-and-foe detection. Weapons features have also been updated as well as the use of more advanced anti-hacking/anti-tampering software to avoid the sort of droid hijacking that has happened in the past.

Strengths:
  1. Advanced friend-vs-foe detection software
  2. Advanced Software (e.g., anti-tampering software)
  3. Self-healing armor
  4. Psychological impact on Vong due to taunts and design
Weaknesses:
  1. Similar weakness of all droids (i.e., subject to tampering even with advanced software)
  2. Weakness to droid specific force techniques
  3. Droid logic: Reacts with droid logic in all situations, not capable of sentient adaptation (i.e., hindered by its programming)
  4. Weaknesses to EMP or Ion attacks

I assume the weapons aren't built in replacement for hands and such?
