PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Yusha is a striking and composed figure whose presence carries quiet authority. His features are sharp and handsome, with warm bronze skin, strong cheekbones, and a neatly groomed beard framing a firm jawline. Dark eyes watch with calm calculation, while long black hair is drawn back neatly behind his shoulders. He favors layered garments of deep crimson and black, rich but understated, often draped beneath a heavy fur mantle that lends him a regal silhouette.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Yusha is a pragmatic idealist shaped by hardship, a man who believes the galaxy reveals its true nature in the gutters rather than in senate chambers or noble courts. Decades of survival among the forgotten have made him patient, observant, and deeply calculating, but not cruel for cruelty’s sake. He respects competence wherever he finds it and holds a quiet disdain for the complacency of the wealthy, whom he views less as enemies and more as inevitable marks waiting to be relieved of excess.

To Yusha, power is not measured by fleets or titles, but by awareness and influence, by knowing which whisper matters and which soul the galaxy has overlooked. Though he operates comfortably in the shadows, he sees himself not merely as a thief but as a curator of survival, redistributing opportunity to those whom society discards while steadily expanding the reach of the hidden kingdom he has spent a lifetime building.

HISTORY

Despite being called a “King,” Yusha never ruled from a palace.

Though blood ties him to power, the man who would become the King of Beggars was raised far from the halls of House Verd. Yusha is the grandson of Isley Verd, known to many as Darth Metus, born from one of Isley’s daughters and a member of his infamous Dreadguard. Yet lineage did little to shape the boy’s early life. His mother disappeared into the Southern Systems, raising him in the sprawling slums and broken ports that exist on the edges of civilized space. These worlds were harsh teachers, and the lessons they offered were rarely kind.

Though she tried to instill good values in her son, survival demanded sacrifices that morality could not always afford. Yusha learned to steal not from ambition, but from necessity. The streets became his classroom, and every hungry day became another lesson in how the powerful lived and how easily their comforts could be taken from them. As the years passed, the boy who stole for food began to see something larger in the act itself. Theft was no longer simply survival. It was opportunity.

As Yusha grew into adulthood, he began to refine his craft. Small pickpocketing gave way to careful planning and calculated risk. Wealthy merchants, inattentive nobles, and overconfident syndicates all became potential targets. With each success came both coin and reputation, and soon others began to gravitate toward the man who seemed to thrive where the rest of the slums merely endured.

Yet Yusha did not build his influence through gangs or armies. He built it through the forgotten.

Beggars, orphans, laborers, refugees, and courtesans became the foundation of a quiet network that stretched through the Southern Systems. These were the people the wealthy ignored and the powerful overlooked, but they saw everything. They watched cargo move through starports, overheard conversations in dim cantinas, and witnessed the careless habits of those who believed themselves untouchable. In return for their loyalty and their information, Yusha ensured they shared in his victories. Every successful theft fed the same streets that had raised him.

In time, whispers of the King of Beggars began to circulate through the underworld: a monarch whose crown was larceny and whose kingdom lived in the shadows.

In the present, Yusha has spent decades cultivating this quiet empire. What began as scattered informants in desperate neighborhoods has grown into a sprawling network that spans much of the Southern Systems. His agents are rarely recognized for what they are. They appear to be nothing more than the forgotten masses of the galaxy, yet their observations travel through invisible channels until they reach the man who sits at the center of it all.

Though Yusha’s life was forged far from noble courts, blood eventually found its way back to him. House Verd has acknowledged the grandson history misplaced, and Yusha in turn maintains a pragmatic relationship with his kin. He offers them what he has always offered others: whispers from the forgotten corners of the galaxy. Information moves quietly between them when the situation calls for it, though Yusha has never forgotten the value of what he provides.

Anything beyond whispers still carries his usual fee.

Recently, however, Yusha’s ambitions have begun to stretch beyond the Southern Systems that shaped him. A rising power in the Outer Rim has captured his attention. The newly formed Crimson Dawn has begun carving its own place within the galaxy’s criminal hierarchy, and Yusha sees in them a potential partner rather than a rival. By aligning himself with their growing influence, he hopes to extend the reach of his own kingdom, transforming a regional network of beggars and spies into something that spans the wider galaxy.

For Yusha has never truly ruled territory or fleets. He rules something far more difficult to see.

A kingdom built from whispers, desperation, and the quiet loyalty of those whom the rest of the galaxy forgot.
