BIOGRAPHY:
Born the only daughter of a Jedi and mechanic, many could say that Yumi’s density was determined the day she was born. Her father was a Jedi knight of the Republic, named Kato Serizawa. He had met his future wife, Eri, when his Jedi fighter had been damaged in a fight over Orto Plutonia. The two continued to meet before agreeing to raise a family together, thus Yumi’s eventual birth.
She too exhibited abilities in the force, like her father, but both agreed they would wait until she was old enough to decide for herself where her destiny would be. As it turned out, however, Yumi seemed to take more after her mother when it came to fixing and building. At a young age she seemed to enjoy constructing things, even if it meant breaking them apart to try all over again. Even when she went to school her mind was so focused on the mathematics and machinery; and even some in programming.
While it was clear Yumi was more interested in menial works with machinery her father always reminded her that her force abilities also granted her the option to join the Jedi and uses her skills there. Every time she would say she was unsure or would make excuses why she had no answer straight away. While he did not see her a lot, due to his business with the Jedi and protecting the galaxy, every time they would meet he would ask.
It was not until tragedy had struck with the death of her father in combat that Yumi had come to a decision. Understanding what he was trying to do for her, to make her ready for the galaxy and what dangers were out there, Yumi agreed that training with the Jedi would be best. Her mother agreed, still worrying about her safety when she would go, before both attended Kato’s funeral. After that Yumi took her father’s lightsaber, agreeing to take it back to the Jedi.
Now, with her faithful droid “Derby”, Yumi plans to make a story for herself among the Jedi her father had fought beside.
