STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
+ STRENGTHS
As a Hutt smuggling vessel, the Lorsan Tekka has been specialised to maximise carrying capacity, speed, and security. Its high-output engines and hyperdrive allow it to move at speeds rivaled only by smaller craft and the Millennium Falcon, while the SLAM system gives it that push in emergencies that can make it outrun a TIE Interceptor-based craft in a pinch. For a short time, anyway.

Storage is the next set of strengths of this customised YT-1300. It has been given the f arrangement, which means a lack of living space in favour of more cargo holds. These cargo holds have been given ports to allow additional storage modules to be attached to the exterior with a quick trip to any dock. Inside, a handful of smuggling compartments lined with the sensor-repellent Nightshadow allow for safe transport of not-exactly-legal items.

The cherry on top is the flight system. The Lorsan Tekka still benefits from a pilot and copilot like any other YT-1300, but since most smugglers who worked in this ship were loners, the ship is fully operable with one pilot. It is not as efficient, but one does not need to perform a circus act across the cockpit to make use of the ship's features.

- WEAKNESSES
For starters, the Lorsan Tekka is a very unique-looking YT-1300 with its centrally-mounted cockpit and various modular pods around the edge. That said, while it has a transponder falsifier to fool scanners, anyone who sees the ship and has seen it before would likely recognise it. Its uniqueness is its downfall.

Next, the many modular ports are weak points, where parts converge and mechanical apparatus are involved. This makes it easier to breach the ship here than a normal YT-1300 which depends more on solid, or at least continuous construction.

In weapons-related points, there are two drawbacks. The first being that the Lorsan Tekka can carry fewer warheads than most ships of its grade. The Flex Tube warhead launchers had to be specially fitted, and that cost space to hold ammunition. Secondly, the Ion Cannons and Particle Beam Cannons use the same turrets. While this is a nice feature that allowed more efficient use of space, they can not be used at the same time. The turrets can either fire twin particle cannons for a maximum of four lasers, or single ion cannons for a maximum of two lasers. It is all very tuned to work right, and that means it will not work at the same time.

Finally, the navigational systems, control panels, and other systems have all been rigged especially for human interaction. Special procedures and modifications were made to make sure droids would have to rip the ship apart to access anything, so astromechs cannot interface with the Lorsan Tekka.

DESCRIPTION
The YT-1300 Lorsan Tekka started its life as a normal, no-nonsense light freighter that ran around the galaxy running off jobs for odd people. It did not even have a name at the time. When a Hutt named Tekka took interest in the owner of the ship, it received a few modifications to make it 'better'. As time went on and credits rolled, the Lorsan Tekka got its name from the partnership between a smuggler named Lorsan and Tekka the Hutt. Its modifications kept coming, until the ship looked like almost like a different model of ship built upon the YT-1300 platform.

When Lorsan died from a spice overdose, Tekka the Hutt took possession of his ship and kept it as a trophy. He still had it upgraded and maintained, and it stayed new and shiny. When Netherworld swallowed up Tekka and his entire operation, Jules found the ship to his liking and took it as his own. So began the relationship between Jules Crux and Lorsan Tekka. They went on various adventures together for awhile, Jules replaced many systems to be droid-unfriendly, and to this day they work together quite well.

Speed and storage are the names of this ship's game, with weapons and sensors playing lesser but not ignored roles. It is designed to pack up and go fast, keep from being shot down, and for its scanners to go mostly unnoticed. At its soul it is a smuggling vessel, so it has been tailored for smugglers. A centrally-mounted cockpit allows the pilot to have a better perspective on the ship, rather than the standard port-mounted cockpit of the YT-1300. This design was taken from ships such as the YT-1930 and YT-2000 models. It is not as fast as ships with sole intent to go fast, but it can give them a good run if the pilot is desperate.

A tractor beam allows for scavenging of shipwrecks, a landing claw allows for being sneaky by hiding on bigger ships and objects, and some nice interior goodies give the Lorsan Tekka a little personality. Alusteel framing gives the Tekka superb structural durability, duraplast hull gives a strong, lightweight material capable of taking a few hits before breaching, and glasteel viewports prevent unhappy accidents in the cockpit.

Normal speed and maneuvering for a ship this size is 5. I normall allow a push of 2 for unique so make the Speed 3. If you want to keep it as speed 2 it will need 10 posts of development or the maneuvering 4

HYPERDRIVE CLASS: 0.5
Normally anything below class 1 needs a development thread. But with unique you can get .75 or do 20 posts development for the .5

You will need a link to where you purchased this from Silk holdings. Just post in there marketplace thread asking to purchase one then link it.

Normally I ask for 10 post development thread associated with SLAM drives. With this being Unique you are good.

I'll take the dev thread for this. Sublight engine development, it probably won't be a very interesting read but it may be fun to write.

Let me ask you a serious question, here. Does the hyperdrive rating account for anything other than fluff? Like, are there any outstanding in-character consequences to having a slower or faster hyperdrive, or does it just alter the roundabout guesstimate of how long it takes to get somewhere? If HDR affects something in the realm of manoeuvrability and what I can do with the ship, or responsiveness of the system to pull off Han Solo/Thrawn-like hyperspace stunts, I'll take the development. If it's mostly fluff, I don't see a reason to not just take the .75-class.

On the OOC I asked the creator if I needed to take any steps to use this, he said nah, but you're the judge so let me hunt down the Silk Holdings marketfront and I'll get that to you ASAP.

Yay! I'll probably touch on it in the development for the sublight engines and such, though. Not an independent development of the system, but at least it'll have some content in there.

No not really. there may be some instance where you were racing somewhere against time in character but that would be a rare occurrence. In a battle the hyperdrive has nothing to do with anything.

its ok. do not worry about it.

Just do the development for the speed and maneuvering and change the Hyper Drive to class .75 and you will be good to go.

Knocked the Hyperdrive Rating down to 0.75, then.

Already took care of it, thread is linked up.

Working on this, I'll tag you again when it's done and linked up!
