Background and Biography
Xiu Wei was born to an unremarkable prostitute, the bastard daughter of Shen Wei, the leader of the Atrisian crime triad 'The Setting Suns'. As it went against Atrisian tradition to name a bastard as an heir, Shen had no choice but to treat Xiu like any other of his foot soldiers. At a very young age, Xiu was sent out to earn her keep as a pickpocket and thief. Each day, the young child only stole enough credits to ensure she was not kicked onto the street, sleeping in piles of filth and eating forgotten scraps of food.
When she was twelve years old, Xiu was taught how to handle a blaster, a weapon she took to quickly. With a blaster in hand, Xiu began enforcing for the Setting Suns. It was on one of these missions that Xiu killed for the first time.
A local merchant had delayed his payment for the Sun's protection, and Xiu was sent to remind him. The merchant's bodyguard, however, turned out to be an exiled Jedi. The ex-Jedi removed Xiu's right hand in the ensuing struggle, though she was able to use her remaining hand to strangle the Jedi to death.
That was when she realized how much she liked killing.
Xiu got her missing hand replaced with a cybernetic prosthetic, and continued her work with a renewed vigor. Fighting tournaments, jobs, alleyways; anywhere a fight could be picked, Xiu was there picking one.
She was arrested several times, for varying severe crimes.
With the costs of keeping his daughter rising, Shen Wei decided enough was enough. He sent Xiu away from the Setting Suns, telling her not to come back until she was successful in her own right.
Determined, Xiu stared out upon a galaxy unprepared for what was coming.
