PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Xerxes cuts a commanding but restrained figure. Tall and broad-shouldered, he carries himself with the quiet posture of someone long accustomed to command decks and observation galleries rather than parade grounds. His features are sharp and deliberate he has dark eyes that rarely miss detail, framed by dark hair. Where others wear trophies or sigils, Xerxes bears restraint his presence defined not by intimidation, but by the unmistakable gravity of someone who has stared into deep space and kept going.

PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

He is calm, analytical, and unhurried a man who thinks in years and light-years rather than moments. He speaks sparingly, listens intently, and prefers preparation over reaction. Unlike many Mandalorians, he has little interest in glory or conquest; competence and foresight matter more to him than recognition. Those under his command know him as fair, exacting, and deeply protective of his crews. He believes power is a responsibility, not a prize, and that survival depends on awareness as much as strength. To Xerxes, Mandalore's future is secured not only by Iron holding the line, but by knowledge gained in the dark seeing danger before it arrives, so others never have to face it unprepared.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

▲ STRENGTH: He possesses exceptional strategic foresight, able to anticipate long-term consequences and unseen variables in ways few commanders can.
▲ STRENGTH: He inspires deep loyalty through calm competence, earning trust not by dominance but by consistency and restraint.
▼ WEAKNESS: His preference for caution and verification can cause him to delay action when others would seize a fleeting advantage.
▼ WEAKNESS: He carries the burden of responsibility inward, often isolating himself rather than sharing uncertainty or doubt with those closest to him.

HISTORY

Xerxes Verd was born into a galaxy already coming apart. The son of Isley Verd Isley Verd and Elyria he inherited not ambition, but awareness and understanding that power, once claimed, demanded more than strength to sustain it. Where others of House Verd would come to embody war, survival, and rule, Xerxes learned to measure the galaxy by distance rather than dominion.

He was Mandalorian in every way that mattered. He trained in armor. He learned the blade. He lived by the Resol’nare. But even as a youth, his gaze was drawn upward, past borders and battlefields, toward the void between stars. Navigation, stellar phenomena, hyperspace instability, and long-range logistics fascinated him more than banners or titles ever could.

When the Verd family rose again and Mandalorian power began to reassert itself, Xerxes never positioned himself to lead it. He had no desire to rule worlds or sit on a throne least of all Mandalore’s. Authority, to him, was a burden best carried by those who sought it with purpose. And when that purpose crystallized in his younger brother, Xerxes did not challenge it.

He supported it.

When Aether Verd Aether Verd was named Mand’alor, Xerxes did not stand in his shadow nor step into his light. He stood beside him briefly and then stepped away. Not in dissent, nor in exile, but by choice.

Thus, the Star Corps was formalized under his command.

Where the Mandalorian fleets were forged for war and defense, the Star Corps existed for reach and foresight. Exploration, deep reconnaissance, anomaly study, post-Planeshift navigation, and long-horizon threat assessment became its charge. Xerxes shaped it into something uniquely Mandalorian: disciplined, deliberate, and prepared to endure isolation without losing purpose.

He never ruled from a throne. He commanded from a bridge.

Years ago, Xerxes led a deep-space expedition beyond known hyperlanes into regions where navigation failed and stellar logic unraveled. As Mand’alor the Iron holds the center of the galaxy together by will and steel, Xerxes Verd remains beyond the edge of certainty charting the unknown not for glory, nor power, but so that Mandalore is never caught blind again.

He never sought to rule.

He chose to watch the dark so others would not have to.
