Rules, traditions, duty - all were chains that once held Atropus back, keeping him in line, having groomed him to be an obedient lapdog for the ways of the Sith that ruled the Galaxy. HISTORY
Chapter 1 : The Slave
Xan Atropus, an unfortunate soul to be brought into the galaxy at an unfortunate time. was born into slavery, to settle overwhelming debts owed by his birth parents who gave him as collateral so freely. All he has known growing up was nothing more than what it was to live with a chain around his neck, serving his superiors. Worked to exhaustion, treated like less than an animal and abused for his master's entertainment sums up his entire youth, until he was an adolescent old enough to be used as a pitfighter. Despite his upbringing and background, he had survived in such a lifestyle surprisingly well, mostly thanks to his fierce desire to live. He spent most of his adolescent years fighting in kill or be killed matches, further honing his combat prowess to stay alive, enough as to gain the attention of a wandering Sith Lord who soon took him under his wing.
Chapter 2 : The Sith
Xan's liberation from the life of a slave was only a temporary and fleeting moment of joy he had gotten a taste of, thinking that his life would be somehow made better by becoming a Sith, his new master feigning empathy and kindness. That was a foolish and near fatal mistake he made, his master being a particularly sadistic and wicked individual, who both physically and psychologically tortured Xan for years, breaking him down into a near mindless beast. Years of abuse and torment had all but destroyed Xan entirely, having molded him into an ideal weapon and tool for a Sith Lord to use at their leisure as their apprentice. He was made into an attack hound, sent to destroy and wreak havoc upon those who had the unfortunate fate of displeasing his master.
Chapter 3 : The Unbound
At some point in his adulthood did Xan finally became somewhat self-aware of his situation. The realization that the pain no longer hurt him the way that subjugated him, that the strength his master had tortured into him made him far more capable than he believed he was, had all made him realize that his powers far exceeded his master's. In a fit of unbridled rage that had been contained within him for years, he slaughtered his master with his bare hands, seizing the freedom he had only dreamed of for years finally with his own hands. But like everything other than pain in his life, the moment was fleeting. His master was a powerful individual with many connections throughout the Galaxy, all of whom now wanted Atropus' head. Peace was a lie, the only thing that the Sith had taught him that remained true. Freedom he had come to understand would only be acheived by seizing it by the throat.
Now he wanders the Galaxy, still pursuing that freedom...
...even with how twisted and corrupted he had become. -

Xan is a skilled fighter, even if his moves seem reckless and motivated solely by anger. His fighting style is aggressive and chaotic, making it difficult for his opponents to have the time to find and exploit an opening in his form, focusing on aggressively overpowering and dominating the flow of battle. Xan also possesses what appears to an extremely hazardous and high resistance to pain, able to sustain heavy injuries and still manage to maintain a berserker-like state of combat.
While not as conventionally powerful in the usage of the Force, Xan still posseses a strong enough grasp and usage of its traditional powers to fight at the level of a Sith Lord, often deferring to his aggressive combat style to keep his opponents on their back foot and not be able to leverage the use of the Force to as great of an effect against him. What Force powers he often use are typically just to add even more points to distract/pressure his enemies.

Xan has been a troubled soul all his life, having been born into slavery, and later raised to become a bloodsport fighter before eventually being made into a Sith. All he knows is pain and strife, and the number that it has done on his psyche has always been his greatest weakness and strength when it came to his life as a Sith.
His mental psyche has been shattered dozens of times throughout his life, and haphazardly pieced together to keep him temporarily whole and at peace with himself. Pain and perpetual anguish have molded him into an irreparable mess of an individual who lacks any redeeming qualities other than a fierce desire for freedom now that he is free of his former master and the Sith.
Xan is prone to psychopathic tendencies and episodes of unbridled anger and rage, often leading into bursts of brash and uncontainable bouts of anger. His emotions teeter on a delicate balance between calm and enraged, with only the slightest amount of pressure being needed to push him to the deep end.
