When in battle he wears somewhat ostentatious golden lacquered armour, with ceremonial designs. Wuxia wields a force imbued bow staff that he's rarely seen without, he also often drinks out of gourds. When walking Wuxia walks with a sleight lope as part of his simian heritage, when running he often incorporates lots of jumps, flips, swings and spins. PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

Wu believes in life and the Living Force. He believes all things are connected and that harm to one thing harms the whole. That unfortunately to prevent more harm one must commit harm in the protection of others. It is however never his preference. To be clear he enjoys martial arts, he finds it helps him harness the force, flow within it, martial arts is a meditative state for Wu, but he is happier going through a kata, training or sparring then he ever is taking life.

Wu has a mischievous side to him, he enjoys a good laugh and a practical joke. Joy in life isn't the hedonistic pleasure seeking others pursue, but in the simple things, a shared joke, a tender moment, meditating in the gardens, guiding a pupil full of life.

When it comes to politics. Wu is… doubtful. The major factions seem to carve up territory for power on their own whims and desires. Neither does pretending these factions do not exist help. So he cautiously tries his best to serve the Living Force and hopefully mitigate the damage done by the more destructive factions in the galaxy.

Wu's greatest fear is that he will fail his padawan, but he knows he can only do so much to guide her on the path of the light side. That she must find her own path in life and in the Force.

STRENGTHS

Martial Arts- Wu makes a habit of studying as many martial arts as he can Echani, Teras Kasi, Bakuuni, Na Jang, Zama-schiwo, Shon Ju, even Black Sun. Wu has adapted these and the Seven Lightsaber forms to his personal style. His style is heavily influenced by Zama-schiwo and Ataru as well of course doubule bladed lightsaber combat.

Force Powers- Wu is a master though he makes a face at the term. Mastery implies he's yet to learn anything. Master Wu always tells his students that he only insists on the title of respect to remind him of his duties to them. Nonetheless Wu is proficient in the Force and it's uses.

WEAKNESSES

No Lightsaber- Although his Lightstaff is a capable weapon, it lacks the cutting power of a lightsaber. This can be a disadvantage in lightsaber duels.

Not Military Minded- Wuxia is not the most military minded Jedi. He is capable in personal combat, but he is no jedi general, preferring to study the force over military matters.

HISTORY

Wu was born on to a pair of Shifala freighter merchants. He doesn't remember them because they were killed in an attack. Wu doesn't know who it was that attacked them he suspects pirates or Sith perhaps Imperials. It doesn't matter, because his master the man who raised him defeated the people responsible. He used to ask his Master a Yinchorri jedi from the Aakaash system what group were responsible so he could be vigilant in justice against their kind. His Master, Master Xuan Wu would only shake his head and reply vengeance was not the way of the Jedi.

Master Xuan Wu named him Wuxia Wukong his full name means Martial Arts and Chivalry, Five Phases or Elements, to Comprehend Nothing. This was to remind Wuxia of his mantra which was his name. Martial Arts and Chivalry and Always remember he knew nothing, so there was always more to learn.

Master Xuan Wu was an independent Jedi Master. He elected to stay out of Galactic Affairs, and instead travel, studying the force and letting the force take him where ever it may. With Wuxia to take care of however he thought it best to set down roots, so he began searching for a jedi temple to teach Wuxia. That was Wuxia's upbringing travelling from temple to temple.

Wuxia learned a lot from the temple ruins, and archives. He was however lonely and wished for other children his age to play with. So he played with the few children he found in local villages, only they didn't want to play with the boy who could float the ball into the goal, or outrun and flip over them even if he didn't. Puzzle games were no different, they were easy compared to the jedi mind training puzzles he encountered in ruins or against his master.

Wuxia didn't understand how come they couldn't join the other Jedi. Even help them in their battles against the Sith. Master Xuan Wu replied that the modern jedi had lost there way becoming little more than elite soldiers in the service of governments. Wuxia asked what was the point of learning martial arts to defend oneself and others if you avoided battle?

Master Xuan Wu would just close his eyes and shake his head. Sometimes he would chide or murmur that battle was not something to be sought or desired. Until Wuxia learnt that lesson he was not ready for it.

Wuxia grumbled and growled until one day he raged and left determined to find his own path in the galaxy. To fight the Sith, the Imperials, the First Order, the Mandalorians, the pirates and the Hutts. He found a battle. He does not remember which one. It was horrible. Wuxia used his skills and his knowledge of the Force and struck down a Sith. Horrified about what he'd done he threw away his lightsaber and vowed to never take one up again.

As he did so the rest of the squad of Sith attacked. Wu faced his death calmly. Then Master Xuan Wu came out of nowhere from the shadows and leapt to meet the Sith. It was over quickly and ruthlessly Master Xuan Wu cutting down half a dozen Sith in a matter of moments.

Wuxia opened mouth shocked at the display of ferocity. Master Xuan Wu disengaged his lightsaber and bowed his head for a few moments, before turning to Wuxia. Wuxia launched himself at his Master into a hug and apologised crying and sobbing, begging for him to take him back, that he'd never disobey him again.

Master Xuan Wu just hugged him back, and said of course he would not abandon him, he would not fail Wuxia again. That Wuxia was right. The suffering on the battlefield had shown Xuan Wu that it was selfish of them to ignore the plight of the galaxy. They would refuse to serve the greater powers, but no longer would they stand idly by and do nothing.

Wuxia said he didn't want battles anymore, couldn't they continue to study instead? Go back to the way things were?

Xuan Wu shook his head and said that time had past. Wuxia was his padawan now which meant they had to face dangers together and serve the galaxy. Wuxia was thirteen. For the next five years Wuxia and Xuan Wu travelled the galaxy, avoiding commitment to any one Jedi Order but intervening where they thought appropriate. It was a heavy burden deciding which conflicts to engage in and which not to, but they did there best. Just because they refused to join didn't mean they avoided other Jedi entirely. Wuxia made many friends finally other padawans like himself. Wuxia was advanced in martial arts, but they had much to teach him about ways of the galaxy like ships, anthropology, science, engineering, history, art, music, literature, holomovies. Wuxia loved to learn and loved learning.

Xuan Wu politely went out of his way to ask other Masters for these shared cultural exchange recognising his failure of isolating Wuxia had lead him down a dark path once before. Still Wuxia always felt sad his Master never seemed to be fully accepted by the other Jedi. Perhaps because they felt he did not commit to the causes that they did.

It created a not quite bitterness but forlorn longing and sadness on the part of Wuxia to be included in the Jedi Order completely and fully. Though he also did not want to participate in any actions or battlefields he felt were unjust. It was a conundrum.

When approaching his trials of knighthood approaching his eighteenth birthday. Wuxia felt nostalgia that he would soon be taking leave of his master and setting out on his own. As well as a since of giddy nervousness. Though Xuan Wu would smile and say that he was sure it was only a formality.

They decided to prepare for the trials one last time at one of the Jedi Temples they used to visit. While meditating they were attacked by a Sith and his Apprentice. The apprentice going through his own trial. Wuxia took his time and defended with his lightstaff, applying Soresu to his actions, waiting for the Sith apprentice to tire or make a mistake. While he did he was meditatively aware of the Masters battle.

"Darth Wu how good to see you again." The Sith Master greeted as they crossed blades

"Darth Hydra I cannot say the same." Xuan Wu replied

Wuxia slipped in his defence not believing what he'd heard. The Sith apprentice broke through his guard, Wuxia recovered just in time and used Tutaminis, to grab her blade and pivot to disarm her in turn, empowering his punch with a compressed Force Push that sent her blasted back through the waterfall.

Wuxia turned to the Masters fighting. They were locked in combat. Wuxia had lost his weapon, he knew if he intervened he could be a liability.

"Don't you miss it? The power, the glory, the rush?" Darth Hydra asked as they traded blows.

"No. It was evil. It was wrong." Xuan Wu replied

"So you became a noble jedi." Darth Hydra sneered.

"Of a kind. You could too" Xuan Wu offered

Darth Hydra laughed

"You were the most vicious Sith I've even seen you slaughtered everyone in your path. Now you pretend to be Jedi. I know the real you. Darth Wu." Darth Hydra sneered

"I see you have another apprentice. Having an apprentice is a wonderful thing, guide her, teach her, care for her as if she were your own. Tell me do you enjoy the thought of her killing you to ascend to Darth. Don't you wish there was a way for you to live together?" Xuan Wu pleaded

"Sorry I guess it's too late for that. Your apprentice is already gone." Master Wu added softly

Darth Mars glanced to where Wuxia was. Master Wu seized the advantage and pierced the Sith through the heart. Wuxia and Xuan Wu stared at each other for a few moments, before Wuxia quietly packed up his things, turned his back on his Master and left.

Wuxia spent the next several years avoiding other Jedi. He felt like a fraud, he'd been taught by a Sith. What if he were tainted? What if he fell to the Dark Side too? Sometimes he wished he had stayed to ask one question. What really happened to his parents?

Other times he feared the answer too much and was glad he didn't know. So he did what they had originally done and avoided the major powers and their conflicts. Wuxia let the Force guide him, spent a lot of time meditating. He spent a lot of time on backwater planets, the outer rim, wild space, the places forgotten by the rest of the galaxy, he helped out where he could. His guise was often that of a schoolteacher, he enjoyed childhood growth, development, nurturing their love of knowledge.

Wuxia also spent a lot of time in hospitals, orphanages, refugee camps reminding him of the true cost of war. Sometimes they were attacked, he did his best to defend them, evacuate them. Eventually Wuxia realised him not having any answers was holding him back. He decided to search for Xuan Wu or if not him his origins. Short of asking a Sith he began in Xuan Wu's home system of Aakaash.

Wuxia travelled through the orbital bodies of Aakaash and let the force guide him. He came across a young girl. Feng Huang. Her story is not his to tell, but he found himself with a padawan. Learning his lesson from his own apprenticeship. Wuxia didn't want her to be isolated, and joined a Jedi Order of Naboo. He had always admired Nubian art and culture, he was glad despite his trepidation of international politics that they were a positive presence in Feng's life.
