DESCRIPTION

The Wraithspire is more than a weapon - it is a covenant. Forged through Sith alchemy, the staff is bound to Lina Ovmar's very soul with a corrupted kyber crystal at its core. It stands as a conduit between body, soul, and the Netherworld, keeping her from being lost during her travels. Its phrik body, inlaid with bone and obsidian, is etched in blood-carved runes that glow with each surge of Dark Side energy.

The staff demands a toll: every ritual siphons Lina's essence. Her survival is dependent on the sacrifice of others to satiate its hunger. When the staff drinks, its power magnifies - portals stabilise, necromantic rites grow stronger, and sorcery becomes near-limitless. Yet each sacrifice leaves behind a fragment of their essence that echoes in the crystal, whispering, taunting, and binding Lina tighter to its hunger.

Its segmented core, reinforced through alchemic bonding, can shift length seamlessly under Lina's command, appearing almost alive as it bends to her will. In combat, the weapon can shift from towering staff to shorter rod, wielded alongside her lightsaber. Its phrik construction makes it durable enough to parry sabres and bluntly crush enemies, but its true strength lies in ritual and sacrifice.

The staff's power draws from an ancient variation of Transfer Essence, allowing Lina to partially project her soul outward while maintaining a tether to her physical form. In this state, she becomes a being of both matter and shadow - her staff serving as the anchor that keeps her from dissolving into the void. Yet the tether runs both ways; to sever the staff or steal it is to risk tearing Lina's soul apart.

Every use tempts Lina deeper into its covenant. With each soul consumed, the staff grows hungrier and hungrier still.

There is a lot happening here, and lot to unpack but right now this feels more like a fantasy weapon than a star wars weapon, so there are a few things I want to run through with you to clear up my questions. I'll work through them point by point to give you the best opportunity to explain your thoughts to me.

1) Size adjustment

How? Can you show me the canon example you're basing this on? Even Jedi and Sith can't just create matter but it has to come and go somewhere.

2) Tether

What is soul separation? I did a google search but was unable to figure out which power you're referring to here, if you could please clarify that for me.

3) Living Artifact

Can you show me the canon example you're basing this off? I am aware that some sith artifacts do have sentience, for example Ship the Sith Meditation Sphere, I'm just not sure is the artifact storing the souls of those sacrificed to it? Or is it just echoing their voices?

Hey John Locke

I have absolutely not based any of this on canon. I have been running around with a flavour idea and threw it into GPT to see what it came out with, and I kinda liked it, so I knew this was going to need reworking. However, I think with the tweaks I have made, it should feel more Star Wars and less fantasy, and hopefully, it will address the issues.

First of all, the size adjustment I have reworked it so that, rather than creating matter, it telescopes.

Secondly, the "soul-seperation" again, this was a flavour piece I have been writing, Lina was separated from her essence due to an injury when crossing from the Nether back to this world; however, I get that for the prupose of a factory item that could potentially be abused it needs to be anchored to some canon so instead I have reworked it to act as an anchor when she's moving through the nether to stop herself being lost and linked it to a variation of transfer essence.

Finally, the sentience. This was terrible wording, so I have fixed it, it is as you have said, echoing with the voices of those who have been sacrificed. It doesn't store them per se, but I am running this with the magic has a cost theory, hence the need to offset its draw on Lina.
