Jaminere.

Coruscant.

Sullust.

Fondor.

The list of recent battles went long. War was never an easy thing, but he hadn't experienced the rapid expansion of it that had come to the galaxy in the past month. In that entire time he'd attacked Jaminere with the help of other rebels, facing down the Sith and utterly annihilating the forces they sent at him because the Sith were too stupid to fight him themselves. Then he'd been on Coruscant and found that the Alliance had made an alliance with a government full of Sith, which had forced him to send a message to both governments that he wasn't going to stand for such things. And now the Alliance was all but destroyed.

With its failing, the galaxy was now thrown into a tumultuous tailspin. There were only a handful of governments left standing that would face off against the Sith and Imperial orders, and none of them had the size that the Alliance had brought to the table. It was sure to be a bad time for the galaxy in the coming years. If no one was able to rise to the challenge, the darkness of the galaxy would spread, and all would be under threat.

He didn't personally know what to do about that.

What he did know was that he was worried sick about what had become of Romi. They'd been separated on Jaminere and when he'd finally found a way off the world, she had been nowhere to be found. She was there, he knew she was there, but he didn't know where and he wasn't able to find her. Even though he hadn't wanted to do it, he left without seeking her out because he knew she wouldn't want him to hang around. But then they hadn't met up when the rebels regrouped, and weeks later he'd heard that she'd been on Coruscant, fighting against the Sith there. He hadn't been, but after finding out she was there, he'd gone to try and track her.

It hadn't worked well. The Alliance forces had scattered to the four corners of the galaxy, so to speak, and any method for tracking where she had gone was all but lost. Still, he'd searched, and ultimately one of the places he had decided to try was Eadu. As he flew his fighter down to the stormy planet that had recently been the capital of the Sovereignty, he tried to reach out and find her, but wasn't able to. If she was there, she was hiding her presence. If she wasn't, then it was just going to be another stop in his search for her. But he had to try because he had to tell her the truth before it ate him up to the point where he decided it wasn't going to work. At that point he would be done with life in this hell of a galaxy. He didn't want that.

If she were ever on Eadu...she'd come to seek the council of the Bendu; she considered him a mentor.

This time however, she'd gotten what she needed and just stuck around to center herself before the trek back. She'd gone through a lot recently, and was constantly fighting back the corruption that ran deep through her body; conserving her energy was becoming more and more a priority.

The storm would have grounded her anyway.

Raging on it's own, she found comfort in it as she sat on the ramp to the ship. She cradled her knees, tucking them into her chest while resting a busted lip just between them.

In that moment she felt calm, possibly because the rhythm of the rain and the crackling of the thunder prevented her from drifting too far into her thoughts. She knew she could sit here for as long as she needed and no one would know, besides very few people, no one would think to find her here.

And she certainly wasn't expecting either of them to pop up...

But then again, things always seemed to happen when she least expected.

The storm was raging, but he opted to brave it. Once his fighter was landed, he battened down the hatches and climbed out with wet weather gear on, specifically a poncho. He didn't want to be absolutely soaked if he did find her there. Standing beneath the fighter for a moment, he felt out with the Force, searching everywhere for her that he could reach. If she was there, he needed to find her. He knew she wasn't dead. She couldn't be.

Finally he felt something, so he marked his location with a trscker on his fighter, and then made his way off. Through the storm he walked, climbed, and jumped. Eadu was a rough world geographically, and getting around was no easy feat, but he welcomed the challenge. Of late there had only been so much time for him to do any sort of physical training, and that amount of time was not up to par. Though with the amount of combat he had seen he ought to be alright with it.

Eventually he found her, his own signature minimalized so she wouldn't feel him coming but also to hide from any maliciois sorts that might be lingering nearby. As close to Republic space as they were they ought to be alright, but it could also mean scouting and monitoring forces of the Empire could be nearby. He didn't feel like taking risks with that when it came to her.

"Good to see you're alive," he said as he walked up from her right side. "I was starting to worry."

Starting was an understatement. He had been worried about her ever since they had been separated on Jaminere. That world was absolutely teeming with Sith. He had briefly tangled with one of them, coming out the victor, but the rest of the group had been separated off. When he met up with them to depart, she hadn't been there. He had wanted to go back but Cedric rightly pointed out that he would probably just endanger her situation if he went looking for her.

"How are you?"

She caught a silhouette from the corner of her eye, in her natural reaction...

Sigh

"Kamon..." she said under her breath, but it was audible enough. "I hope for the day when you'll stop sneaking up or just randomly popping up out of nowhere..." she said before shaking it off. That's really what irritated her about him.

She proceeded to cradle her head, absorbing the rain again. "i'm fine. Waiting out the storm is all." she spoke slowly, partially in a trance. "I came to see Bendu, needed some answers. However...that was a partial success. Then the storm came." Though she could tell he wanted something, her head whipped around and she looked dead at him.

He was acting weird on Jaminere, given the fact that he just popped up again. She was really wondering what his deal was...especially after what he said.

"Why'd you come to Eadu?" she said, "Following me again?"

"If I stopoed doing that it would probably mean I was dead," he said, looking out at the rain as he moved onto the ramp.

He stoppedafter a moment and removed his wet weather gear, discarding it in a pile ouy of the way before sitting dow. somewhat near to her. She was fine, she said. She did seem well enough,. ut if she was seeking the Bendu again then either something was bothering her, or she was still trying to figure out what he had said the last time they had been on Eadu. That time he was following her. This time he had just been lucky.

"I have to know where you are to follow you. After Jaminere I didn't know. I came here hoping you would be here, that's all."

There was a slight edge of tension in his voice. Worry, mostly. He had been afraid he wouldn't see her again, sure, but that wasn't what was causing it this time. No, it was anxiety about the whole situation. He'd done this before. Several times, actually. One coukd reasonably expect it would be second nature or thst he was a Casanova or something. Neither was accurate. It gave him grest anxiety because in the past, it had never worked out how he'd hoped.

Would it work out with Romi? He honestly kind of doubted it. She was still young, and he couldn't tell if her animosity towards his appearance was genuine or just an aire put up to keep him guessing. He doubted the latter and had already planned for the worst, but that didn't make it easier. If anything it made it harder and he waited a couple minutes, just estching the rain fall and listening to the storm before working uo the nerve to speak.

"I haven't been looking for you just to make sure you were alright after Jaminere. Thst was part of it, but not as important. I needed to tell you something that I couldn't while we were there. I was certain it would be a distraction."

He turned his head and met her gaze.

"You see, Romi Jade, I am in love with you and have been for some time. I just couldn't say it."

She mustered up a smirk and shook it off, he was right. If he didn't sneak around, she'd be worried.

"Good point," she nodded.

She could feel the tension in his voice, spilling into the air between them. Perhaps she was being too hard on him, and maybe Kamon did care for her well-being. She realized just then that Jaminere was the last time she'd seen him or Cedric. Ugh, so much had transpired in what seemed like no time at all. Quite frankly she was just tired...her body was tired.

She zeroed in on what he was saying after he explained it wasn't just about Jaminere. What else was there then?

"Tell me something?" She asked, "Tell me what?"

By this time she'd perched up fully,

What he said, truly was not what she was expecting. From him?

Her facial expressions gave it away before her tone could, the muscles in her face twitching in a way to show her shock and surprise but also to show that she thought it was crap.

"You're what?" her eyes grew wide, "Kamon...what's really going on?"

Her response kind of made him upset. That quickly turnes to anger but he squashed it. She just didn't believe him. She wasn't mocking him, she just thought he was pulling her leg or something. He could see how she would think that, but it wasn't the truth. Kamon didn't lie about those sorts of things. He didn't joke about those things. It was hard enough for him to even come out and say it because of how women had treated him in the past.

She wasn't helping matters.

"Don't," he said, shaking his head. "Don't think I'm playing games, Romi. I'm being serious."

He lifted a hand and rubbed at his face. Some water had gotten through and soaked his bangs, and then it wanted to run down his face so he wiped it away. This wasn't going the way he had hoped it would, not so far. In fact, he'd have preferred outright rejection to her not believing him. Besides, why else would he be continually seeking her out? Did she think he just followed random women around or something?

He didn't know. He just didn't like not being believed when he said something that was so difficult to say.

"I meant what I said. I love you."

He cut her off, interjecting his own words where she looked to continue hers. She could tell then he was serious. She slowly rose to her feet, pushing off the durasteel ramp with her arms. Now, she was standing over him, angling down. "Wha..." her words barely audible, but she knew she said them.

She proceeded to descend, "Why Kamon?" She emphasized with the flailing motion of her arms, "What is it that you love about me?"

If he was serious, fine, but she would expect a legit reason as to why. He was older than her, and when he first met her, he didn't care for her. She was standing just a foot or two from him. Her hair fell down her shoulder, lacing her chest while she lurched in for his reasoning.

"You're selfish..." she retorted.

"You thought you'd come all this way and tell me you love me and we'd suddenly be together?" her nostrils began to flare. "You didn't think to consider how I would feel." She folded her arms, "I heard a lot of I...I....I just now."

Kamon stood up when she did, and turned to face her when she turnes to face him. She got all angry and he said nothing. Her anger was totally unfounded. He hadn't come thinking anything. He had completely doubted she would reciprocate any feelings he had. In fact he completely expected her to reject him outright, so it wasn't a shock that she turned angry and defensive towards him. He had expected it.

So he let her get it out before speaking.

"Firstly, I haven't asked you for anything. All I did was relay to you how I feel."

He didn't move, didn't make any attempts to do something stupid. In fact, if she looked close enough, he was sweating. The nerves of telling her how he felt.

"First meetings never go how you expect them to. I distrusted you at first because of your age and the position you are in. But you proved me wrong when you gave up the position of grandmaster. You proved your difference, and that you aren't interedted in power. But you are interested in doing what's right, even at the expense of yourself. You're full of life and you have charisma. I can explain it with any accuracy it's just how I feel."

He ran a hand over the back of his neck.

"If you want me to leave just tell me. Don't yell at me for expressing my feelings, just save me the trouble and tell me to go."

Sigh

She rolled her eyes and let up. "Well...you said it." She nodded. "You told me how you felt." In some way she still felt like it was about what he had to say and no other perspectives. That facet of him...annoyed her the most. His straightforwardness she could respect sometimes...but

"I suppose that's it then?" She responded, unfolding her arms and looking out into the terrain of Eadu. The rain seemed to fit the mood. Shaking her head, she released control of her head as it fell into her hands.

"Do what you want Kamon." She responded before backpedaling a couple of steps. "No need to ask for what I want or my opinion now." She slowly turned and ascended the ramp to retreat back into the ship.

Yeah, she wasn't getting away that easy. Not after snapping at him for sharing how he felt about her. Nope. He reached out and grabbed her arm to stop her. Either she needed to tell him she didn't feel the same about him or that she did, so that if he did end up leaving, they would BOTH understand the reason why he did. Yes, he needed to know, but she also needed to decide whst she wanted or she would struggle too.

"I've been waiting for you to tell me what you want. I was hoping you would tell me after I told you," he said.

She liked to run away from her problems. You couldn't really run much further than Eadu. Where was she going to run and why? She needed to put her foot down on something for once, even if it was to tell him she didn't want him.

"Quit running from everything and make a decision for once, Romi. Tell me how you feel."

She could feel the cool touch of his inner palm lacing around her wrist. She stopped. Turning to face him again she jerked her arm back. He never asked. He assumed she'd spew her feelings just because he told her his; the way his mind worked still baffled her...

She turned in full, taking the couple of steps to face him full on again. "I'm not running from anything." she retorted. She never ran from anythng, in fact it was the opposite that always got her into trouble. She cared far too much to just leave things in chaos, but she knew when she wouldn't fight anymore.

"I don't feel the same way Kamon. I don't love you." She responded, sighing after it came out. She looked at his person before running her hand through the locs of her hair and pushing it back. "I haven't even gotten close enough to you to formulate those feelings..."

She shut her eyes for just a second while shaking it off,

"I'm sorry."

There it was.

In the end, it was just like he had expected it to be. She, like so many others, did not care for him. Even those who had professed to do so ended up leaving him in the end. His own children didn't care for him. Why should she? The only woman who ever cared for him truly was depression. That lost, lonely lovee now set to return thanks to his latest failure. He tried to get away, but she always pulled him back.

"I understand," he said, takibg a step away. "Take care of yourself, Romi. I won't bother you again."

With that he wrapped himself in the current and stepped out ibto the rain after throwing his coat back on. She wouldn't see him as he stood out there, watching her one last time. It woukd be the last tine he ever saw her so he wanted to enjoy the moment. Then he would go back to Coruscant; see if he could clean up sone of the mess after it had been attacked.

There was nothing else for him
