*witty title* [Nei Laa]

Nomad was wondering around on correlia, he had nothing to do. He was in the market place outside a spaceport. He had read somewhere that the planet was part of a war thousands of years ago.

He was sitting on the edge of the garden when the sun started to set, he had been there at least three hours. Getting up and hoping for some action he started wading through the river of people.

Nei was surprised she was still allowed on Corellia, given the few fights she'd been in. However, unlike most of the times, she wasn't here to drink, nor fight (though she wouldn't mind pounding someone else up); no, she was here on a relatively simple matter.

The Lucky Star needed a new coat of paint from running into some obstacles, and while it had been a while back the Nautolan just now got around to it.

Tresses twitching like the tail of a sleeping cat, Nei wandered around the market place, trying not to slam the heads of the merchants into the wall.

Nomad managed to weave and push his way through the river of people and spotted a nautolan who was wearing -what looked like- mandalorian armour.

Making no effort to be subtle he tried curving around her, he a slight tinge of anger build in the back of his eyes. 'No point starting a fight' he thought.

As Nei walked, she picked up a sense of anger at the same time her eyes caught site of a young Nautolan. Surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly) his anger appeared directed at her.

Head tresses twitching in a warily curious manner, the older Nautolan headed in his direction, grabbing his shoulder not ungently. "Oi, kid," she grunted. "What be your problem?"

Nomad sighed and glared at the other nautolan, "Why should it matter to you!?" he said, looking up to her face. 'kriff, I forgot that she would sense that' he thought trying not to give anything away to her headtresses.

Nei bared her teeth, her tresses roiling at the kid's emotions. Squeezing his shoulder, she growled, "I care because you be feeling angry at me -- before we spoke, mind you. And I don't recognize you."

Shaking her head slightly, she added, "Did I beat up your uncle? Your girlfriend? Cheat your faction? What?"

Nomad grabbed her arm and started digging sharp nails into it to try and get her to let go. Nomad almost laughed at her last comment "I don't have an uncle, I've never had a girlfriend, and the Nova's do the cheating, It seems you won't let me go, your armour, it looks mandalorian, I've had some bad experiences with them in the past,"

He tried to push the nautolan's arm off his shoulder.

Nei recoiled in shock, temporarily forgetting his fingers in her arm. The kid had so much anger, more than she did. It made her tresses curl upon themselves in distress.

Nei was an angry person, angry at the universe for taking away her captain, her fellow crewmates; the only ones who were her family. She had made peace with that years ago. But this kid? His anger was unhealthy, and it needed to be released.

Besides, she was up for a fight. Nei had just remembered the nails.

"I not be Mandalorian," she told him. "Person who make me this, be Mandalorian. I not be Mandalorian." She maintained a tight grip on his shoulder, though. "You have a lot of anger. We can fight, on my ship. Be good stress-reliever." Nei attempted a smile, though it probably looked like a grimace. "Believe me, I be a fighter. Fights are good for your health."

Nomad sighed, "If you're not mandalorian then I apologise" The grip on his shoulder was painful. Nomad tried sweeping the other Nautolan's feet from under her.

Nei merely hopped over his feet, though she did loosen her grip. "Naughty, naughty," she said tauntingly. "We fight, we fight. But we do it on my ship." The older Nautolan grimaced. "Corellia no good for streets fights -- they be over us in seconds." This was mostly because of another incident Nei had, but she decided not to share that.

Nei didn't really know why she wanted to help the ankle biter anyway. Not like he ever did anything for her. But it could have been because she could sense the hurt that was flowing off of him, and the fact that he reminded Nei of herself.

Or because she wanted to knock some sense in him, Nei Laa-style.

Either way she wasn't backing down from this one.

Nomad grunted "Fine, we fight" he said, still holding the Nautolan's wrist, he let go "Which hanger?" he asked. Something told him no matter how much he tried to argue or or fight he would still end up doing what she wanted.

Twisting her arm so that she was holding his wrist, too, Nei bared her teeth slightly in one of her not-smile smiles. "Glad you saw reason." Realizing how bad that just sounded, Nei dropped the smile with embarrassment before leading the kid through the streets.

Purposefully ignoring his question about the hangar number, she instead asked him, "Got a name, kid? Or should I call you Ekeosur?"

"Nomad. Like a wanderer," she grunted. As she sensed him calming down, Nei loosened her grip on him. "I be Nei." She looked around their surroundings. "Almost there, kid."

"okay" he said. He looked up to the sky before return his gaze to in front of him. "er.. Qato... Ohk dan...... Cei Ayeki, never mind"
He attempted to speak in Ryl, but his attempt failed.

Nei's tresses twitched in sympathy. "Good try, kid." At this point, the older Nautolan wasn't even holding onto him anymore. "Why am I so eager to what, fight you? Help you?" She thought for a moment, before replying seamlessly, "Dan kkelesa ro san bo san, tenii Do ohk eyan."

As they entered the spaceport, Nei walked over to the elevator, pressing the button and standing back. "Good reason enough?"

"Help isn't the word I would use but okay." He added under his breath. 'oh great more ryl' he thought to himself he tried translating: you..... mind..... me ..... me I.... was... He couldn't make out all of it but he put two and two together.

They had entered the spaceport, moved to an elevator. "Yeah I guess so." He responded to her before entering the elevator

As the door closed, Nei moved her hands behind her back, smirking. She knew the kid was puzzling over her Ryl. "Why you be interested in learning Ryl, of all languages?" she asked. The Nautolan woman knew why she learned it, but she doubted this kid was under the same circumstances. If he was, well... Then Nei Laa was willing to believe that the Force or whatever crazy schmuck was in charge had deemed that she meet Nomad. "And what you be doing on Corellia? Where be your parents?"

"Ryl is a common language, it's easier to learn it then get a translator droid" Nomad said. Continuing he went a little more quiet when speaking about his parents "I came to corellia for some parts for my ship, my parents are still on Dantooine, I left that place to find some work" he shook his head "enough about that" he said a little more cheery.

Nei began to nod in understanding at the kid's reason -- it was true, after all -- but froze when he mentioned leaving his family behind to find work.

Granted, she had left because of work, sort of, but the similarities were there and Nei was ready to throw her hands up in defeat. Okay, fine! You win! she shouted in her head. There be a supreme being in charge of the universe! Happy?

Nei let out a growl. She wasn't angry, not really. In fact, she didn't know what to feel. It had been a long time since she'd actually laughed, so Nei opted to just growl. "Kid, you be one strange being," she muttered, as the doors opened. Stepping out of the elevator, she glanced around before walking towards her ship, keying in the code for the boarding ramp. "This be my ship," she called over her shoulder. "The Lucky Star."
