SPECIAL FEATURES
Winter's Wind: Engraved into the inside of the ring are three rune clusters, each of them designed for a spell to create and bend ice. Each of those spells is cast by a unique set of gestures, which have to be preformed quickly and precisely for the spells to work. The spells which can be cast are:

-Ice Dagger:
Spell: The spell begins with all fingers in a straight position, and with the inside of the hand pointing downwards. The Ring finger and Pinky get attached to the inside of the hand, followed by turning the hand around. The last step is to bring the thumb, index and middle finger together.
Effect: Once performed a roughly 25 centimeters long, rudimentary, sharpened ice dagger will form, with the blade held between thumb, middle and index finger. These daggers are especially useful when thrown.

-Ice Spear:
Spell: The spell begins with a fist. Then Index and ring finger have to move in a straight position, followed by turning the hand around. The once more a fist has to be formed. As last step the entire hand has to be moved above the casters head, with the arm held in a 90 degree angle, with the fist loosening in tension.
Effect: The spell forms a thin, 1,20 meter long ice spear in the hand of the caster.

-Ice Shield:
Spell: The spell starts with a fist. All fingers have to be brought into a straight position, followed by once more forming a fist three times.

Effect: Creates a two meter high and 25 centimeter thick wall of ice in front of the caster.

Dark Side Ice: The Ice created by the ring is enforced by the dark side, making it far more durable then normal ice. While it is still far less resilient then steel, the ice is able to hit skin, flesh and even light armor without breaking.

Strengths:
  • Ice Weapons: The ring grants the ability to form a weapon out of almost nothing, using the water in the air and the force to create ice.
  • Ice: Ice is a rather cold, and therefore rather painful substance for most species, at least when pushed into a person.
  • Dark Side Ice: The Ice created by the ring is enforced by the dark side, making it far more durable then normal ice. While it is still far less resilient then steel, the ice is able to hit skin, flesh and even light armor without breaking.
Weaknesses:
  • Heat: The less water in the air, the more straining becomes performing the spells. In deserts and other extremely dry, hot areas the ring will not work at all
  • Recharge: While the ring draws on the power of its wearer, it still needs time in between spells (roughly 20 seconds) as unaligned runes otherwise start interacting with each other which leads to the spells backfiring (freezing the hand of the caster)
  • Normal Ring: The ring itself is merely a ring, only the runes and crystal are the product of alchemy, making the trinket itself as easily bend or broken as a normal ring.
DESCRIPTION
Winter's Wind is one of the many lesser arcane trinkets Abyss picked up during the uncountable explanations into the ancient fortresses and sanctums of the sith. While not exceptionally powerful, the Sith Lord quickly took a liking in the ring once discovering the spells needed to use it through the art of psychometry. The ability to produce daggers at will was the most intriguing, basically granting him an supply of thrown, sharp projectiles only limited by his strength and the water in the air around him.

The ring itself is merely a ring, only the runes and crystal are the product of alchemy, making the trinket itself as easily bend or broken as a normal ring. While the runes serve as a way to give the spells form, the crystal serves as focus point for the caster to channel his energy into it.

Since then the artifact resides on the Sith's right hand, the same he uses primarily for common throwing knifes.

Nice idea, but it'll need some balancing.

  • This should be listed under Strengths also.
  1. Is this the product of alchemy? It reads like such, especially with the Dark side reinforcement element.
  2. I'd like to see a limit imposed on how many of these spells one can perform in a consecutive fashion. Currently you could use this to spawn an infinite number of daggers/spears/shields at no cost to your Force reserves, and that is severely unbalanced.
  3. Leading from that, I'd also like to know if the spell, when performed, draws on the Ring's power, or the power of the wearer himself.
Please address these concerns, and we'll move on from there.
