NAME: Willow'a Wysp (Wysp for short)

FACTION:

RANK:

SPECIES: Mutated Ethereal (Breath Sub-Race)

AGE: Young Adult

SEX: It's still deciding

HEIGHT: Variable

WEIGHT: Variable

EYES: Usually a bright yellow

HAIR: None

SKIN: None (A glowing gold color)

FORCE SENSITIVE: Highly Force Sensitive

STRENGTHS:

Innate Force Use:
Wysp can use a good number of powers, and very well with little teaching. The Ethereal uses them instinctively. These include Cryokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Plant Surge, Force Barrier, Telekinesis, and Force Sight. Beyond this, Wysp can still be trained in other abilities.
Untouchable: When the Ethereal dives deep, it can disappear out the sight and senses of all beings. Not even technological sensors can detect them. Even those with the force have incredible trouble even sensing that they could be close by. They can move through walls, shields and the like.
Shapeshifting: Their imagination is the limit. Wysp can transform into any shape it can imagine. If it has been able to observe a person up close and read through their mind, they can shift into a perfect copy of the individual. Sensors, senses, and even the force would be nearly indistinguishable from the original.
Living Weapons: Using its shape shifting abilities, it can create weapons like claws, blades, and the like out of nothing.
Feeding: Unlike its unmutated brethren, it can feed on all sorts of energy. This includes the light from a star, heat from a fire or volcanic source, body heat, electricity, as well as the life from all sources: Plants, animals, sentients etc. It can even sustain itself on nothing but the force if in a place strong in it.
Possession: It can take control of the body of a person for short periods of time. However, when willingly let in, it can increase the capabilities, force, physical, and mental, of an individual for the duration.
Quick Learning: Wysp picks up new skills, and ideas quickly.
Telepathy: It can not only read minds, but it can also talk through them. It has a great capacity for using telepathy, and for worming its way into memories.
Space: SPAAAAACE. I love space. Wysp is able to exist in vacuum, and in empty space all by itself. It can travel distances across it, and even travel between worlds with enough time.
Floaty: It can float around. While in ball form, or totally invisible it isn't dictated by any real physics. However, when it goes into its avatar form, it swims around as if they air is water.

WEAKNESSES:

Easily Swayed:
Due to the nature of the Wysp, when it is in a dark side, or light side nexus, it will begin to take in the characteristics of that aspect of the force. This can even be true if it hangs out with more light side, or dark side people.
Weaknesses in Diving: When it is totally immaterial, it can go anywhere. But it can see almost nothing and cannot interact with anything. It cannot carry anything with it either. It cannot go into a base undetected, spy on it, or sabotage something. It simply lacks the capacity to get any meaningful information when it dives deep. Also, it can still be injured through the use of widespread force abilities, or large explosions. Once it surfaces enough to "see" it will be detectable to senses, technology, and the force, as well as be able to be harmed with traditional weaponry. Once surfaced, it can be caught in a universal energy cage, and not be able to escape.
Feeding: If in caught in any of the various anti-force fields, it cannot use it alternative means of feeding. It must then feed off vitality to continue living.
Living Weapon: The maximum hardness it can assign to its clothing, or weapons from its shapeshifting ability, it that of bone. It cannot stand up to vibro-weapons, it cannot pierce even regular durasteel, or stop blaster bolts, slug thrower bolts or the like.
Possession: When it possesses someone, it feeds off their life force. There are no exceptions. While it may impart great abilities, to use them for to long, or too often is a death sentence.
Impossibly Curious: The create cannot stand not knowing something that catches its interest. It is impossible for it to resist, and it will do almost anything to gain the answer.
Telepathy: Those who are well trained, or are force users, are very difficult, if not impossible to read the mind of.
Fear: Due to the species, Wysp cannot help but see the darkest fears of those around it, and this has a profound affect.
Distances: Although it can travel efficiently and even through space, it doesn't move at massive speeds. It takes quite a bit of time for Wysp to travel from place to place. And if it doesn't get enough nutrition during these trips, it can still die. In practicality, Wysp still needs a ship to move across large distances.

PERSONALITY:

Wysp is alien in thought. It comes across as quirky, curious, friendly, feminine and self-sacrificing. Due to its ability to see fear, it goes out of its way to ease the fears of those it interacts with, especially the dying, or those in mortal peril. Wysp is still figuring out who it wants to be. It figures more things out with each person it gets close to, each observation, and each mind read. It knows this though: It is a light in the darkness, to guide those who are lost home.

APPEARANCE:

Deep Dive Form:
In this form, it appears as nothing. It is invisible to all senses, technology and almost totally invisible even in the force. There is nothing here to see.
Ball Form: As it "surfaces" it takes on the shape and appearance of a glowing yellow ball. This ball seems as if it has bits of mist or fog that forms around it. It is able to move in any direction, and even pass-through walls. However, in ball form it cannot pass through any type of energy shield. (See bottom of thread)
Avatar Form: Once comfortable, it can create its avatar. This is a cute wispy form, with glowing yellow eyes, golden skin, tendrils for "hair" that move like they are caught in an ocean current. The avatar can pick things up, manipulate objects, and acts like it is swimming through the air, using its long "tail" to propel it. It cannot pass through objects in this form. (See Top of Thread)
Shape Shifting: It can take on the shape of anyone, or anything it can imagine. However, in time it will most likely take a form that it feels is appealing to whatever friend group it makes.

BIOGRAPHY:

The reality is, no one has any clue how this creature truly got loose in the galaxy. It is known that its progenitor was one of the original Ethereal created by Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim . That Ethereal reproduced, but something, somehow, went different. What was created was a ball of light, bright and pure. It was different than the others. It didn't need to hunt to feed, even though it could. It was curious and quick to wander. Its parent tried to teach it how to exist, and for nearly a week was guided by them. However, as their kind are want to do, the parent lost interest. That wasn't truly a problem for the newly unleashed Wysp. It traveled all over. Quickly it figured out how to catch rides on ships, how to see when it was in motion and when it was still, all while staying out of sight. For years the creature explored the galaxy and saw and did things few beings would ever believe. Wysp "trained" with a Mandalorian warrior, "meditated" with a Jedi Hermit on a far away planet, explored the depths of Naboo's core, but for all it had done, it never truly had a 'self'. Not until one fateful encounter led it on a path of self-discovery.

For a year, the Ethereal floated around a star. It was relaxing, it had plenty to eat, and it just gave the creature time to think. It was then it felt a deep fear from somewhere near it. Startled, the small creature floated towards where it felt this emotion. As it got closer it could sense a ship nearby and floated into it. There, it felt that the being inside's greatest fear….was dying alone. The ethereal surfaced and looked around. There, a lone human was stuck under fallen equipment, half of him crushed, with burn marks covering the other parts. Fear and pain abounded from the being. A spot deep inside the alien creature hurt as it explored that fear. Then, a spark of inspiration filled it. If could make that fear go away. It made itself known to the trapped and slowly dying being.

It took awhile, but they got used to talking through telepathy. They laughed, cried and shared their experiences in life. There was nothing Wysp could do to save the human, but make them feel better, to let them not die alone and scared, that was something it could do. They talked and the man gave it a name "Willow'a Wysp" or just Wysp for short. Days passed by, as they shared their lives. The man, Joe, gave Wysp access to his mind, and it saw through his eyes. Love, joy, greed, pain, betrayal, it felt it all.

Three short days later, the man succumbed to his wounds. They were the most profound and important days of Wysp's life. The man shared so much of himself with the creature and his greatest fear was taken away. His last moments, while ones of agony, were not alone. Wysp performed its first shapeshifting that day and took on his body and face. So that the man's next fear wouldn't come to pass, it flew the ship to a port, summoned the authorities and disappeared. Joe was cremated, his ashes spread on the planet.

To this day, there are rumors that if you are lost in space, a glowing ball can be seen that will lead you back towards another ship, a planet, or other safe place. And for those who slipped off their craft in a maintenance space walk and were unable to float back to their craft, they say they could feel a push and soon found themselves back, safe and sound.
Children on nearby planets recall getting lost in the wilderness, unable to find their way back home, and a glowing ball lead them back to their houses. Sometimes, they called it a fairy, that it was playful and kept them entertained and happy as it led them.
No one takes these rumors seriously. Just wives and spacers tales. However, for Wysp, each one of those stories is a job well done. Another being that won't end up like its most important friend. However, the question is….what now? It could do so much more, couldn't it?
