Three weeks.

It had been three weeks since CorpSec started its witch hunt. Riots, lockdowns, manhunts, hazings... things were bad. They were still bad. But somehow, both remarkably and horribly, Denon kept on keeping on. The city lights never faded, traffic never slowed, and business went on as usual. For most people, at least.

Das had been busier now that the corporate crackdown was in full effect. While the others were planning heists or testing the limits of CorpSec's cordon around the Seven Corners, she was hard at work gathering every scrap of information she could about her father. His scruffy face was ingrained in her memory, the look of surprise in his eyes etched forever into hers. She hadn't seen him for nearly three years, since he and her mother, Selina, disappeared during the Denon Riots.

A bitter jolt of emotion ran through her as she recalled that night. She thought they were dead.

As much as she wanted to be happy to have seen her dad, she couldn't will herself to feel it. All that Das could muster was bitter resentment. They hadn't died, at least not her dad. Did he choose to leave her, then? Choose to hide his life from her? Abandon her? The questions snowballed until it was too much to bear. She'd had enough of asking. It was time for knowing.

That's what led her here, to the infamous Gemini Strand, far from the security of Darkwire's home beneath the surface. District 11 was new territory for her, but the challenge of learning her way around the streets and people wasn't going to deter her. Her craving for answers was too strong to ignore. Das took a deep breath as she wrapped her hands around the metal grate that divided the tunnels of Tomb Station from the outside district beyond. It was wet from the light rainfall that had settled over the city. She gave it a heavy push, budging it from the duracrete.

She pulled her beanie down over her ears and set out for the Strand, mist speckling her pale face as she neared the edge of the Double Down. Hopefully the cyberjockies had answers for her.
