Who Believes in Magic?

A field of lights in the darkness guides the guests as they walk to a large theatre hall. A magical event was being held here tonight. One promising magic, music, dancing and some good old fashioned fun. The lights just add to the mystery of what the evening would entail.

This is the theatre that the lights lead to. It held many grand ballrooms, as well as a theatre that housed hundreds of people. Dignitaries, politicians, business owners, all were welcome here. Tonight's festivities was about unity, friendship and the enjoyment of life.

A lone figure greets those that arrive towards the stage. He sits alone and patiently waits. How many would come and watch him, who knows. But he would wait.....wait for as long as he had to to amaze and entertain the guests.

 

[Wrrlykam]

Don't bring droids to a party, wait, no, don't rip out my arms! These are words a very wise man once said, and some of them should had been followed. Unfortunately, soon came a wookiee and her purple and golden droid, murmuring every few seconds in the language of Kashyyyk to the tall hairy beast. Honestly, it made it seem like there was rather an army behind her the way it ran off to speak it's clever trouble making tongue.

With a small gleeful expression, the hairy walking beast made her way into the partied area to find a place to stand and hold her droid close to her side so it may not run off. She had a rather elegant look - as much as you could make for a walking carpet. Beads and a few bits of cloth to keep an appropriate appearance among the others. Young Wrrlykam finally found a decent spot to see the stage clearly and claimed it by sitting down, never once letting anyone attempt to steal it from her.

Fabian, as unknown as he was in the galaxy at this point, he put on his best looking suit and tie and headed to the theatre where he had heard something magical was going to go down. He entered alone, unarmed it seemed as he looked dashing as he made his way past all of the night's guests.

He would place himself down in his seat, narrowing his eyes to the Wookie across the room, as she looked slightly out of place for whatever reason. He would focus his eyes onto the man sat on the stage, twisting his mouth slightly as he watched carefully.

The seats started to be filled and still the man on stage waited. Two, or rather three guests had stood out so far, one being a female Wookie that clung to a peculiar droid. [member="Wrrlykam"] and her droid made for an odd pair indeed. And then there was [member="Fabian Krass"] that seemed a little displeased at the sight of the aforementioned pair.

The man on stage just remained still, only his eyes that twinkled in the light showed his amusement. Still he waited. He was a patient man and the show wasn't set to begin for another fifteen minutes. Whisperings and hushed tones could be heard as those that had appeared thus far were guessing as to just what it was that they were to watch tonight.

In truth they were all in for a treat. It was afterall a gala event of an evening sponsored by a number of honoured guests. An evening that they would hopefully never forget.....

 

[Wrrlykam]

The wait was beginning to become... tiresome. The droid continued to make a little more than loud and upset remarks, as it was common in her tribe to speak louder the most upset they became. She settled the screaming being with a single bonk on the head with the force of a well earned muscle - which made quite a tiny 'thunk' and a scar to remind her of what she had done. No matter, she would just have to replace the head's skin again.

Her beady eyes laid back on the stage, suddenly re-newed after her small destructive outburst to her own toy. Again pleasantry grew, and her excitement refilled for whatever the man was choosing to do for them that fine night. "It's a murder spree," She replied to the quiet droid. "No, ma'am, I must insist it is not." The droid replied in their own language. She stared at him for just a moment, then growled loosely as she flipped her gaze back to the man. "Entertain us!" She cried out in a series of growls and loud threateningly purrs.

Was that his cue? The man on stage looked over to left and smiled. He nodded once and then turned his attention over to the audience, getting to his feet.

"Honoured guests, thank you for coming to tonight's event. But it is not just an event, but a celebration. A celebration of what, you might ask? Life. Our lives, yours and mine. Even artificial....life.

And what marks our lives but the passage of time? From the moment we enter this life we are in the flow of it. We measure it and we mock it, but we cannot defy it. We cannot even speed it up or slow it down. Or can we? Have we not each experienced the sensation that a beautiful moment seemed to pass to quickly, and wished that we could make it linger? Or felt time slow on a dull day, and wished that we could speed things up a bit? We all have.

And there are some in this theatre, some in this building that are gifted with the ability to appear to slow or speed up time. But....it is only an illusion.
I am not one of those gifted individuals, I assure you. But that does not mean that I cannot appear to affect time."

He brought out a piece of fruit from his pocket and let it drop a couple of feet from one hand to the other, switching hands so that it was an almost continuous loop. At times the fruit seemed to slow down, and at times it seemed to speed up.

"Tonight I shall share with you some special illusions that will hopefully entice your imaginations and let them soar!"

He threw the piece of fruit towards [member="Wrrlykam"] and before it could hit the Wookie, it would turn into a feathery winged creature and fly up to the rafters.

Kay smiled and joined in the applause from her seat at stage right. She had taken a lot of time to help plan this event and she hoped that the guests enjoyed it.

 

[Wrrlykam]

The wookiee stared in awe as the man preformed his magic, though her droid was babbling about, trying to make the Wrrlykam understand that it was quite only an illusion, however, when the fruit came spiraling through the air to her face, she let out a furious and quick growl to wipe among the mysterious fruit, only to find that it had disappeared and turned into something she didn't recognize. Awestruck, she stared at the creature, then with wide eyes turned her attention to the doer of this magic. Even her droid couldn't explain that trick without going into religion.

Her jaw slowly hung open, showing a series of teeth for a long moment until she came to her wits and closed her mouth slowly. Even so, it didn't stop her mind struggling to comprehend what happened before her very own eyes.

Herself had to clap after all she was a bit impressed with the the magic act so far. Even so she couldn't help it but knowing that she had to chuckle with in herself. As to think of the way she grew up on as a Nerf header. To this now she could just here her grandpapa now saying that something like this was a waste of money that one needed to get a real job one that got their hands dirty. This caused her to give a slight grin on her lips. Before she turn them back into her own neutral position. Now finding herself smooth out the part of her dress again.

Waiting for more of the show, letting her eyes go over to [member="Lady Kay"] with a nod, that she did like the show and a way to take one minds off what been going on around them of late.

Even her eyes wonder to the one that the man had seem to used [member="Wrrlykam"] even her eyes didn't miss very much of anything now days not like the pass.
