KARVOSS II || CORE WORLDS

The relentless rain pelted the surface of Karvoss II with harsh globs of viscous water, thick enough to splatter with every droplet that struck the rugged terrain. Nima Torr strode onwards through the desolate lands, her fingers clasped around the edges of her hood, where the wind attempted to find purchase, cold claws scrabbling against the weathered fabric. Sediment and pebbles skittered beneath her sturdy leather boots, falling down, further and further along a pathway carved by the patient press of nature. Undeterred, she continued, her steps calm and relaxed in a way that defied the storm rattling around her, pressing down upon the mountainside as she kept her head low and bowed against the rain.

Her hand shivered, a faint tremor held at bay by a force of will that fluttered weakly in her chest. It would be so easy to reach out, spread her fingers across the weave, and transfer the energy at her fingertips into heat and warmth—for a second, her whole body blazed with the desire; a want that sank deep into the marrow of her bones and sparked vivid dreams that left trills running down her lekku. It would be wonderful. It would also be a mistake.

Darkness coiled at the fringes of the weave, a cloying malaise that lingered just within reach, an insatiable void that threatened to engulf everything in its relentless pull—if only one dared to reveal themselves. She had no intention to do so, not today, when it would be little more than a pointless stand, howling at the rain.

Thunder rumbled in the distance, a second encore to the storm that swept across her cloak, flowing downwards in sheets of rain that discoloured the cragged mountain passage before her. Boulders, the size of starfighters, glistened with the deluge of water, their features highlighted in stark relief with droplets that slipped down like tears upon their cragged surface. Another step, with the press of her toe, pushed aside a pebble that plopped into a forming pool of water caught between an incline and a crevice. She barely noticed it, her attention focused on making sure each step carried her further up the mountain.

The uneven terrain beneath her feet began to flatten, transforming into a broad ledge that stretched on either side, with sweeping slopes closer to the mountain peak that continued onwards. Her steps, however, did not progress towards the peak; instead, they guided her towards the gaping maw of a cavern, its entrance looming larger as she approached, casting shadows that danced along the rock walls.

And so, Nima Torr stepped into the darkness and out of the rain.

Some times before The Sword Returns

The end is truly nigh. It’s been a hot minute since any form of order has had a resemblance of control over the Galactic Core. Zronware might not be the biggest fan of the New Jedi Order, much less the bureaucrats that sat in the ivory tower of Coruscanti spires, yet they were at least trying to show their resistance towards the dark and evil.

The Galactic Empire might’ve claimed to champion order, yet the numerous roaming Sithspawn and barbarians he had to slaughter during that short period of time only proves otherwise. The new regime is even more openly Dark, like no one has seen in the past decades, perhaps even centuries.

And so it was ever so present in the ragged cavern system of the frozen world, its atmosphere choked the White-manned Knight ever so slightly.

It was not a wise decision for the Knight to travel so close to the core, all alone, with bounty on his head. Yet he made his decision, with a plan to fly back to Naboo as soon as he gets what he is coming for.

And that he already got, which means departure could’ve followed, but it proved to be a mirage as he felt a Force-imbued being approaching the cave’s mouth as he was packing his camp.

its entrance looming larger as she approached, casting shadows that danced along the rock walls.

The Witchbreaker quickly left the camp for later, instead zipping through the dark maze closer towards the entrance. He couldn’t read the intentions of the intruder from distance, and he’s not the type to talk his way through a situation.

So, he did what he knew best, drawing and igniting his Lightsaber, the Cyan Kyber hissing as the light casts a shadow of the Knight on to the cavern’s walls; a cold notice for fellow Lightside acolytes, or a last warning for anything else.

KARVOSS II || CORE WORLDS

One more step took her beyond the reach of the rain, a threshold that the bitter cold could not reach, as the sudden lack of pressure made her acutely aware of the soaked fabric clinging to the curves of her body. She'd almost forgotten how it felt, without the blanket of water pushing down on her, drowning out every sensation except for the chill that seeped into her, burning against the warmth of her skin. It felt almost weightless without it, or, as she moved through the cavern, perhaps like moving through water, her cloak smudging against the ground.

Each heartbeat echoed in the relative stillness, amplifying the soft beat of the downpour outside, growing weaker with every step, while droplets clattered to the floor with infrequent drips. Rude, she knew, but under the circumstances, she hadn't wanted to wait any longer. By the time she'd arrived on the planet, the storm had already been in full swing, and she had little doubt it would stop anytime soon. She couldn't wait that long—not this time.

In the meantime, then, she offered the closest thing to an announcement she could provide, reaching out beyond the tightly contained weave of shields and barriers that wrapped around her spirit. Her touch was soft, a mere whisper on the current of the weave, slipping along the tides of connections and thoughts that connected to this cavern and the man who had decided to make it his. As temporary as those connections were, they were also, in a way, almost easier to find, like a new door stopper on a frame that hadn't changed in centuries. All she had to do was follow the disturbance as the distance between them shortened.

With a casual flick of her wrist, droplets flew in all directions, catching the cyan-hued light and creating a glistening spray that danced through the air before splattering onto the cold stone beneath her. Nima stood unfazed, her cloak free from the dampness that had plagued her journey. Her last touch of the energy field before her rippled in waves of impulse that rapidly faded beneath the natural order, her own presence slipping back beneath the carefully collected weaving of shields and barriers.

Eyes the colour of gold stared across the space between them.

Before her stood a man of hard choices and hard convictions, righteous in a way that made killing noble, for when all that surrounded you were monsters, the only choice was to start cutting—at least, that was what most would say, forgetting how simple it was to become a monster in the process.

She could not begrudge him that choice; who was she to question the path he had chosen?

All she could do was question what she found before her; was he a man consumed by darkness or one who resolutely clung to the remnants of his light? The sharpness of his spirit flickered like the glint of a blade, deadlier than the burning saber of light that hovered between them, casting radiance and shadows across the cavern in equal measure.

"I recognise that my arrival may have been unexpected, but I did not come here to fight you," she said, her voice soft and patient, spreading her arms wide and away from the silver hilts that sat upon her belt, the metal gleaming with the unexpected wash. "You have survived, while others have perished, because you are wary, experienced, in a way that many have not possessed the misfortune to live through. I will not ask you to lower your weapon."

Her lips twisted into a smile that did not reach her eyes.

"I wish for peace between us, but know that I am not defenceless."
