When it Comes to Our Military Assets...

Hey everyone, just on break at work so I have to make this short. Or at least try.

Anyways it had been brought to my attention that some people are using our ships, flagships and such for their threads. One in particular has turned into quite the event and I know that that wasn't the intention. However I feel, as do others, that such big assets like the GR Flagship should be requested for permission from staff or those that created it for the factory before it is put in use. I, for one am all about fair play on all sides and this has put a few factions up in arms. I know that wasn't the intention. But if I were to use someone elses tech or otherwise in a thread, I ask permission, even if it's someone's npc. It might seem like a lot of hassle, but it works ;)

I am working with both writers of the Brotherhood (Kay is their diplomatic liason), and with Erebos (another buddy of Kay's), to smooth things over and make sure that it no longer gets blown out of porportion.

Yup, for the last day of the election I am putting my FO foot down :p Rules may change after the election, but this is how it should be.

So in this situation since its used by said creator of the ship where is the problem? (I assuming its about the Libita)

Especially since the Republic characters involved essentially made the deal the ship is hers and its only specified if she were to use it against the republic that things would be a problem.

There are other ships involved as well. It's not just the one. I haven't had the time yet to go through all of the pages. I'm just going by what people from all different sides are expressing to me about. It has some up in arms...no pun intended ;) And sneaking online at the moment...shhhhh!

Haha!! :) Thanks for clearing things up for me though. I wish that I could know everything, but...alas...my toddler, hubby and work take up most of my time. The nerve of them! ;)

You are the Mistress of such things :)

here

"And please note, this is not your (and by extension the Mercs Legion's) personal flagship and is not to be used outside of the needs of the major faction sponsoring its creation. Usage outside of those needs will result in its being flagged."

the ship is not hers it is the republics and she can not use it for non-republic threads.

As the thread is already underway it is fine but in the future she will have to use it only in republic threads.

as for the rest. A single character outside an invasion can not use GR resources for missions outside GR territory without approval for each thread. By takeing a fleet in 3 times larger than the one the OS had you essentially power gamed. You should have worked out fleet numbers with them. even then a force deployed fir this would be small. 5km at most. We do not have alot of ships over 1km we did not have the resources until we took the denon hex and now we have to make more ships.

I am not saying yu can not use GR ships just next time if your going to use a massive amount of them check with us about it and work out an agreement with the other side so we can avoid the drama we had today. Please :)

That's a judge, not a republic character in the dev threads. That hardly acts to counteract what I said.

The Republic agreed to let her command it for them and they did agree to defend Sekalus for her (so it isn't a non-republic thread).

I'm just saying by the Republic's own words in threads at the time she hasn't broken any stipulations and the whole fuss over it now just seems fruitless if all it amounts to is, idk, asking her in the future to run it by the faction if its alright to use.

If that's all the issue is it could be done with a lot less drama.

Not that any of that is directed at you Will, just as I believe you weren't directing all the yous in your post at me, as I'm not even involved in that thread. I'm in agreement the entire scenario here seems out of hand.

A minor faction can not have a ship ovet 1km for any reason. They can use ships larger when working with a major faction but the ships belong to the major faction and are manned by the minor favtions personnel. Nothing over rides the site rules on minor faction rules. The ship submission states the ship has to be used as such and no in character agreement can over rule the factory judgement on the submission

I don't quite understand why this is actually an issue as long as the faction administration is fine with someone using the ship. If the faction's administration doesn't like someone using a big ship, don't let them use the big ship.

Considering the way that the ships were handed off to a member of another minor faction, I'm not sure why the staff at the time didn't just give Sanya the okay and been done with it. It was just a public mining thread anyway, it's not like anything was at stake.

If the OS wanted to negotiate on fleet length for fairness (mind you, they didn't even have hard numbers in their intro post), then they should have done that before throwing a tantrum and bashing their own ships into Luss. That doesn't leave us with much to work with. That whole thread just got off on a bad start when the OS just randomly appeared far out of their own territory in the GA's backyard for a hit job. I get trying to be civil, but civility is not one side whining when they're behind and the other side just placating them to get them to shut up. We're not playing that game anymore.

I'll be retooling our inventory sheet, and determining if any changes need to be made to access restrictions.

[member="Sanya val Swift"] You have my permission to continue using the Libita for defending your system without needing to check in with me or the staff everytime. For any other activities, just shoot me a PM to let me review your plans. You are still beholden to the other conditions you agreed to in the authorization hearing.
