What's Up, Doc? [Jartani Ponds]

Traversing the stars by any means necessary, getting by one day at a time--that was the sort of life Sayal Duulheim lead. By no means was it easy, and of course not so pitiable, whether by luck of circumstances for the particular individual or her efforts to steer clear of trouble. So, that being said, a dear, deep level of regret set in Sayal's heart as she set foot on the wretched planet Tirahnn. Making it all the way to the Inner Rim allowed the young Alunrovaan a better sense of safety, and by extension, a marginal freedom to be less cautious so constantly. A downed guard is the prelude to a fall, some would say. All too relatable of a statement this time around.

Holding some information concerning another public transport stopping by another planet well known for its information, Sayal made for the next city over, where the transport would refuel. And around here is where she started making mistakes. Her lust for knowledge enticed her into a hasty decision of agreeing with the invitation of a rather sketchy caravan of local traders that offered to take her to the next city with them for a small fee. Travel in numbers was the semblance of safety.

Their viciousness on the seemingly defenseless Alua'an was a mistake on their part. Though Sayal was not well-versed in combat, her strength over the sloppy actions of some traders looking for a bit of fun easily ruled over. Unfortunately, her rowdy swings and their flying bodies brought down the transport, meaning she had to rely on her own two feet. Not that it was so bad, there were certainly more gruelling experiences along the way from Negosvern. The issue lied in her decision to take a shortcut.

As opposed to sticking to the main roads, Sayal thought it prudent to take a short-cut through the forests and arrive at the next city before nightfall. The way things were looking with the still light sky made it look possible. Well, it certainly was possible given her speed and distance--it's just that... a body with high power, requires large amounts of fuel. Along the way, it was a matter of fact that her stomach cried out. So, why not take a look at the plant life on Tirahnn? Find something edible? With Sayal's affinity for psychometry, it certainly seemed to bare little to no risks. One negligent action after another builds up. She got food poisoning.

Her psychometry certainly worked! And so did her clumsiness within her! Picking a few berries, Sayal learned which ones were edible, and which ones weren't. And it just so happened that one of the few edible ones around slipped from her fingers and onto the ground. Sayal picked it up and ate it without much thought, knowing it was already safe to eat and clean enough to consume without much tampering, like a rinse or anything along those lines. Except for the fact that the berry she picked up... was the wrong one. And Sayal only noticed it after contact with the berry through her throat forced some information into her via psychometry once more.

"Wh-what?!! I... I just... N-no! That's so stupid! That's-, this is such a stupid way to go out! What edible berry looks exactly the same as a poisonous one?! A deadly poisonous one!!?? Which damned god finds amusement from this, 'cause I swear they'll rue this day.. It's... no! That's entirely unacceptable!! I'm no Sayal McCandless... Ohh... oh man... oh..--oh?"

At this moment, Sayal turned her head to look off into the distance, the direction still continuing on with forests for a great deal. And off, somewhere in that distance, was an intriguing presence. The girl switched to a wide grin, wincing a bit from the burning in her throat and rumbling of her stomach. With a sense of urgency, she scurried off towards the presence with maximum strength in her legs, dancing through the trees and bushes at blinding speeds with a sense of urgency.

The gods aren't all too to kind to me, but at least the Force is a generous entity. The Force guides me well...

Organic dwellers of Tirahnn were usually of the lazy sort. Gaining weight, playing cards, or sitting down just to wait for visitors and travelers to find their trades and pay handsomely for it, which resulted in a single sale being lead to probably twenty sundowns worth of food, shelter, and warmth. Very unoften were they startled, frightened, or even offended by some other off-worlders, but as luck may have had it, as soon as a large public transport ship dropped into it's bay on the organic grounds of Tirahnn, a dark cloaked figure walked out.

For moments it was not noticed, and for moments doctor Ponds felt like a normal, bored off-world looking for a expensive set of minerals, but that feeling didn't last long. Soon people began to ask what this new alien was, local, off world, a spy? It didn't take more than fifteen minutes on foot for the doctor to be stopped, and asked strange questions. Though with what muffled words the cloaked figure tried to spit out, the guards didn't seem to convinced.

The sight of a blaster could mean many things, to many people. For doctor Ponds it was usually a good invitation to run while it brought it's aim to his bodily structure. Without a moment to spare, he ran his long legs, flapping bits of his feathery cloak in the air behind him. Tiny pants of the flowers and oils inside the mask he wore over his head brought strength to his body, and from that he used it to lead him to the forest in attempt to escape the followers.

Sore legs following what could have been a life-threatening experience, Ponds slowed to a walk and made took of his surroundings. Plenty of organic, leaf-ful life around, unlike many planets before. Only a few steps and Ponds had found a small bundle of poison berries. He gathered only two and put them in a collection of multiple colored ones, before moving on to the next bush to find items of importance. In that case, a single leaf covered in sap. He put that on the beak of his mask to use for a nearby dating oil purification.

Before the doctor had known, it seemed as if he had found himself in a small clearance with nearly bundles of fruits and leaves. He didn't spare time to get to work, tearing bits of leaves off here and there, and splitting up berries for their juices or seeds to crush into tiny mixtures.

A bountiful forest with lack of organic squirmers is a forest worth more treasure than all of the combined riches of the nearby city. For morality cannot be spent on merely ships and neckwear, but for I, spend it on the nature itself.

His suit sat contrasting to the green nature surrounding him, though his skills were fit perfectly for the occasion. Now to just finish the potions and figure out where to go next.

Hopefully, in peace.

The further she walked, the stronger the presence became, and a pleasant feeling began to fill Sayal's chest. The strain on her legs were becoming apparent--fortunately, intuition told that her destination was coming up. With a gradual decline in speed and the aforementioned pleasant feeling in her chest being counterbalanced by the pain in her abdomen and throat, the girl made one last spurt and with a powerful thrust, pushed against the ground into the air, rocketing forward through a mesh of fruit-held bushes and trees. Where she found herself upon descent was a decent clearing, enough to fit a few bodies. In fact, that's exactly what happened. Including Sayal herself, there were two bodies actually. A strange person, actually, just as much--probably even moreso than the Alunrovaan herself.

With a rough landing and a feeling of pressure on her knees Sayal landed on her feet, directly before the strange person, seemingly lost in preoccupation of herbal gathering. Under normal circumstances, Sayal might've taken the course of ignorance, walking off without taking action in the moment. Either than, or provide inquiry on what the person was doing here. Under the actual circumstances, she chose to do something a bit more bold. A bold statement in Basic.

"Hey, you're the guy, right? The Force brought me to you, so help me out will you? It's probably destiny anyways, so by cosmic designation you're, like, obliged to do so anyways, right? Right?"

A tiny jump came from the tall figure in black, who was busy picking berries from the ground as the voice suddenly spoke out to him. Turning around in a slow motion, the Doctor used a small cane of his to balance himself straight and forward. At least she didn't seem to mean harm. His appearance on the other hand looked more like a bird-cyborg hybrid of some sort, something that'd come out of hiding in ten years just to see the sunlight.

At the mention of the Force, Ponds rubbed the lower half of his beak amusingly. The Force, hmm? That wasn't something he heard of for tens of years. "I do not know all the details about Force directional, but if it's any conclusion I may be able to help. What seems to be the problem?" He spoke in a gravely voice, most likely due to the thick mask in front of his lips in the first place.

A look of relief glossed her face as the girl hurriedly walked over to the bird-cyborg, anxiety and pain shaking her body. The further she went, the stronger the pain, to the point that before she even reached the being Sayal dropped to her knees and palms. Looking up to the creature as she was ready to crawl, her strained voice reached out in desperation.

"I ate a bad berry. On some planets, it's called Hedysarum Alpinum. Can you help?"

Of course, the actual identity of the berry was just Sayal's guess considering an alpine sweetvetch typically didn't exhibit her current symptoms, nor did it act so fast. But, even with her vast expanse of universal knowledge, some specifics escaped her. If anything, keeping continuity with her usually unmistaken psychometry, it could have been a mutated branch?\

"Hedysarum... I've done some work with that before." Kneeing before the stranger in pain, the doctor took out a few oily leaves that had dark brown tints on them. Without warning, he put the leaves to the stranger's lips, then smeared a bit of a tiny berry onto the flat side of the leaf, the side not mushed up to the woman's face. "I'm going to slide this in your mouth, but you have to swallow it whole. Try not to get it on your tongue."

The creature adjusted his pouches, closing the ones he opened as he prepared the leaf for entry. "Are you ready?"
