What Plugs Into What?

Taking all his materials back to the workshop he had borrowed in the Mon Cal Capital, Quinn stopped, staring at the raw parts lay in front of him. He then removed the final design of his Lightsaber from his pocket, unfolding it and placing it on the table next to him.

Starting with the Phrik, Quinn lay it out on a table. This would form sort of an underlayer on his lightsaber hilt, and he planned to hide it to the best of his ability, so no-one knew it was there. Thus, if his lightsaber was ever cut in battle, he'd surprise the enemy.

He took a small file and a large hammer, slowly beating on the Phrik. The Phrik needed to bend to some exact measurements, and Quinn took a rule and measured his Phrik. It was still well too wide, not Cylindrical, but it was getting there slowly.

Finally, when his Phrik was bent to the Cylinder it was meant to be, Quinn took to filing down some of the edges. He wanted his lightsaber to look nice, even if it wasn't going to work well. That was what Quinn cared more about, looks that function.

The Calm Storm waited until he was back on Voss to continue with his blade. When he arrived, he headed down into the workshops and set to shaping his Duristeel. He knew, from reading, that he shouldn't put anything together, and just wait until he meditated over his crystal he chose.

He nodded, slowly removing the sheet of Duristeel from his bag. He placed it on top of the Phrik, beating it into shape using whatever tool he could get his hand on. He chuckled. He wasn't much good with the building aspects of things, thus he was just sort of winging it. He smiled.

When he made sure that the Endor Tree Bark fit around the rest of the hilt, he nodded. Now all he needed to find was a master willing to head into the Crystal Caves with him. He wondered who'd be willing, and then it hit him. [member="Maya Whitelight"] would probably be willing.

All he needed to do was find her.

Nico Ike Qarmast

The Wayward of Clan Qarmast
Nico had been called in, her skills with a saber presented as something she wasn't sure about but she was awesome... she was cool and bahahaha she was laughing to herself. A little on the prideful side but she had to have some fun, it wasn't often she got to really enjoy some places the this was Mon Calimari... a water world she could rest and relax on while she was standing with her gauntlets hooked to her belt while she was walking. Helping a padawan with his saber wasn't to bad and she could find something to do while she was moving off towards the padawan with her hair in a ponytail and loose fitted shirt.

He found Nico before he found Maya, which was fine by him. Or should he say Master Ike. He shrugged, bowing lightly, his cloak fluttering slightly as it draped off his Sasori robes. He nodded lightly, asking the question if she'd be willing to come with him. Turns out someone had already told her that he was looking for someone.

All he could do was hope she was willing.

Nico looked at him with the robes and raised an eyebrow as she cocked a hip. More curious now then ever but she spoke with a tight lipped grin on her face. Always be friendly. "Alright lets go and see this through." Nico shook her head with a raised eyebrow while she was moving with her hands going to her gauntlets. "So what kind of saber are you looking to make?"

Quinn reached into his bag and removed the parts he'd already crafted. He explained to Nico that he was looking to make a single blade that works underwater, can be adjusted in intensity, can be changed in length and contains a green crystal. He had thought this through for a while, and it was noticeable.

She gave a nod, a basic and useful saber, underwater casing was always a helpful thing to have when you were working on things. If she could set her gauntlets up the right way she would have tried for that but instead had opted for energy shields that could deflect other sabers for a few moments. A fair trade and she was now just looking for a place to give the padawan time to work, he needed above all space to meditate and make his blade. "Alright and do you have a peaceful place you can meditate and focus at?"

Quinn nodded, explaining to Ike about the unused classroom in the Academy. He explained how that was his natural meditation spot, where he'd been going to meditate for a while now. He explained that due to the lack of a master, he had time to go and do that. Chuckling lightly, he smiled. He then explained that he wanted to go to the caves, grab some crystals, Green if possible and get this thing built, at last.

Nico gave a nod o her head to that, going to a crystal cave would be needed first as she finished securing her gauntlets and checked them with the pale purple blades activating with a duel snap hiss and then a pop as they switched to duel energy shield for a moment before deactivating. "Alright lets head out towards the caves and get you a crystal." She kept the smile on her face with that while rolling her shoulders.

Okay fine, they were finally getting this lightsaber built, but something still didn't feel right about this. He felt it first when Nico had activated her blades, and he was slowly feeling it again, a feeling through the force. Shrugging, he continued following Master Ike towards the caves.

When he finally entered the caves, he was stunned for a moment, but he stood there anyway, awaiting his next trial.

She was looking at it and the padawan while she crossed her arms over her chest standing in the caves. "Alright padawan, I'll wait here, finding a crystal, find your crystal is something personal and you need to do it alone. I'll be here at the entrance and if you need me on the com channel. You shouldn't need my help but just in case." She leaned against the wall with her eyes going around the area. "Good luck and take your time."

He knew what he was going to do. Walking into the caves, he sat, meditating slightly, calling upon the force to find the perfect crystal. It took time, like he knew it would. He was basically going through every crystal in this place, searching with his mind. He wanted the perfect blade, and the perfect blade required the perfect crystal.

Eventually, he found the crystal the force told him to find. Deep in the corner, Quinn managed to get himself two Dantooine Crystals. What they were doing here, he wasn't quite sure, but he didn't really care. Chuckling, he stepped out of the caves, staring at Master Ike. He showed her the crystals, smiling.

Green crystals, nice.

Nico remained there while the padawan was meditating to find his crystal. She held the thought in her mind while she was awaiting him to reappear and she perked up when he arrived with his crystals. She looked upon him and was sensing them for a moment as she spoke. "Nice work, now the real things come, building your sabers so they work and taking your time."

Quinn slowly asked what she meant by build. Was he just meant to sit here with a spanner and tinker, or was their more to it, did he actually have to meditate, stay quiet and focused. He shrugged, unsure of what he was meant to do. Both crystals remained in his palms, and Quinn sat there, awaiting his next instructions.

"That depends on you padawan, you can build a saber with the force through meditation or you could construct it with tools. Or any combination in between I cannot tell you which to do. Only be here for you while you do it." Nico was standing there with her arms across her stomach a little hungry but mostly looking at the padawan.

Gonna time skip a little due to the meditation upon the crystal

Nodding, Quinn headed back to the garden's of the Voss Academy, Nico in tow. When in the gardens, he sat, crossed legs, staring at the parts in front of him. He had read somewhere he needed to meditate upon his crystal for a while, and so he did. He spent three days and three nights with only basic food and water, the odd Jedi saying high.

When he looked after the three days, he saw Nico still above him. He almost hoped she'd been sleeping alright, better than him anyway. He'd slept on a small bench in the gardens, actually not bad. Anyway, he appeared to have built his blade using the force. He wasn't quite sure how it worked, but he didn't bother to question it.

He inserted the final gem into it's hole, activating his lightsaber. It turned on perfectly, it's green blade lightning the night sky. He then tested the size and intensity turner, and that worked fine. He then held the saber in the lake just next to him, proving the underwater functions worked fine.

Finally, he had his blade. Thanking Nico, he walked on. [member="Jericho"] needed him.

Nico was there and stayed until he was finished as she let her energies spark out and around. Plenty to do and keep herself interested and while she hated to admit it... Unless you were building your saber this was one of the hardest parts of observing or helping with saber construction. The time they work and meditate. "Very nice." She was looking at him go while she was moving behind him and rolling her shoulder.
