Things were different now and he embraced the change, he was not the bright eye leader of the Jedi, but instead an old worn down Master who maybe still had a little gas left in the tank. Some still remembered what he had done while others knew only his name. He liked it that way, though, he did not have a crowd of people following him around and trying to force information out of him. Most Jedi did not realize that patience was the most important thing to a Jedi, understanding the force like he did just did not happen overnight, it took many years of trial and error. Pain, suffering, despair, loss, but he still kept his head held high and a smile on his face.
He was not familiar with the girl he was to be training, nor was she familiar with him, but that was what would make the training better. Too much respect and you fear failing your Master, too little and you do not try, no respect was what he enjoyed most. Earning it from someone is what would truly teach her the value of his lessons. He was not a traditional teacher, if anything, his methods were extremely odd but proved effective in the end. Being a Jedi was more than preaching peace and calming of the mind. A Jedi had to remain steadfast in the eye of certain doom, they mustn't crumble under the pressure of potential failure, their mindset had to be the exact same as if they were sitting in their most comfortable zone.
He had time to set up his illusion, a masterful one, only a highly skilled Master would be able to see through it and even then it would be difficult. Though it appeared normal, Ben sat Indian style in the middle of the training area of the Praxeum, the old walls around him were broken down and covered in moss. Though he would appear very real, the man in the middle of the room was not Ben, it was a doppelganger. So real she would be able to feel the force rippling off of him and if she touched him she would feel what felt like flesh in her hands. His hood was pulled over his eyes and she could not see his face, but he sat quietly, waiting for the trainee. Her first test would commence shortly, and soon she would be consumed by the illusion, how she reacted would tell him all he needed to know.
Once inside the room, she would feel safe, as if the aura around her was protecting her. Comfortable, trusting, he produced an immense amount of lightside energy that even a few powerful Sith Lords had acknowledged that it comforted them. "Why are you here?" A simple question, but broad, the real answer was never found right off the bat. It had taken him years to discover why he really wanted to be a Jedi, but in the end, he did not like the answer he had received. This was more than likely the case for most people who discovered the truth, but with all truths, there was some comfort to be found if you looked in the right places.
