THE EE'EVERWEST SUMMER HOME

Wearing: XOXO

Only three weeks.

That was how long she'd been home for, and somehow it felt like much, much longer.

It was difficult to relax with the knowledge that Baros and Valere were busy hunting the Disciples, while she was trapped on Naboo, under the ever watchful eye of the Isoto's K2 unit.

For the most part, the days seemed to blur together, and often she found herself restlessly wandering through their families summer home, lost in her own thoughts. Today, that wandering brought her to the veranda, with the backdrop of the glistening Solleu River and verdant rolling hills, her two young children at play and laughing together, a rare moment of peace in the Ee'everwest household these days.

A cool autumn breeze whispered in from the doorway where she stood as her eyes settled on them. Teyla shivered, pulling the light shawl more tightly around her slender shoulders, a sense of melancholy settling around her.

"The Force is strong with you, why do you resist?"

Ferian had said those words to her during one of the many torturous nights she spent with him after the invasion of Coruscant. She hand't believed him at first, they were just the words of a rambling mad man, until that fateful night when the brunt end of her potential burst forth like a wave that'd finally broken through the cracks in the dam, paving a path for her to escape.

Ferian was pain, misery, fear. She wondered how much, if any, of her own ability or psyche was directly tied to him, and if that innately dark energy had passed on to her children as well. Kerstan seemed to believe so when he'd taken them, though Teyla had put no faith in the notion, brushing it off like most everything that she couldn't make sense of.

Then Respini happened. The memory was too fresh that she could not put from her mind what she'd done, the experience too raw, to be easily forgotten.

"Kill her."

The voice had whispered in her mind like the tender caress of a lover...

How quick she'd been to oblige it.

Would her children one day be so inclined, as well?

"Mistress."

Teyla jumped. "How are you so good at doing that?" she growled in annoyance.

"I... do not understand your meaning."

She waved off the crimson K2 droid.

"What do you need?" her voice was impatient, clearly perturbed and uneasy by his presence, especially when the children were in such close proximity.

"You have a visitor. Shall I have him killed?"
