Waiting in the sky
Was it really a crime if they were going after an Imperial establishment? He didn’t think so. Jared was the type to take jobs as they came, and hearing from the Sanctum was about as good as hearing from the Coalition. They both gave some similar jobs, saving a lost explorer, hunting down a monster threatening a village, or helping break through a blockade.
He was his father’s son, he had the skills, but he wasn’t the militant that his father had been once upon a time. Jared had his E-Wing and a few other tricks, working on rebuilding an old Defender Corvette, something to give him a mobile home away from home. Not a freighter, but a ship that was more a blockade runner, explorer, and courier. He enjoyed it.
What he’d been prepping to modify it was to add a hangar-seal for his E-Wing.
Needed the funds.
And when he saw the mission. Run in to Lianna, an Imperial stronghold that was holding various treasures. Rumor was that there were Force related treasures. It was all a matter of what the team was looking like.
He saw that his acquaintance Lia had taken the job, offering up a ship for the job. He was signing up as part of the scouting team. Bringing his E-Wing and general wanderlust, he’d be able to hop ahead of the ship and locate where the stronghold was. Rumors had it as a skyhook, based on the coordinates. He had his fighter moved to where Lia had her ship, hoping that they could launch out together after hashing a few things out.
Following his droid Hopper into the hangar, he had his saber on his hip, and the bow on his back. The latter would be stashed but he wasn’t going to leave it on the Laekian Station, if he could help it.
“Hey Lia. You’ve been out to Tion space?” He couldn’t recall the last time he had been, but still, a cloaking starfighter would be invaluable.
