[SIZE=medium]Born on Bakura, Wes was raised by parents who, while both employed by the bureaucracy of the Galactic Republic, harbored authoritarian instincts. Instead of being overjoyed by the freedom the Republic offered, they instead saw the corruption it created. Special interest groups purchased votes in the Senate, bought and sold politicians, and created an environment in which only they could succeed.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]Despite living with this hatred, the young Wesley believed he could help reform the Republic. So, as any young ambitious lad would, he registered to the Republic Military Academy. His marks from Bakuran schools were high enough that he qualified for initial officer training, and after excelling his first year he was transferred to the Special Operations division. Training was grueling, but he learned everything he could about small-unit tactics, combined force assaults, anti-Force tactics, and even basic naval combat. When he graduated, not at the top of his class but close to it, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Republic Special Forces.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]However, one thing had changed during his years in the military academy. Wes no longer believed in the Republic. He had seen those with far less ability, but better connections, receive special privileges and training. In particular, one senator’s son – who was an absolute disaster – was handed command of Wes’s training company despite having no command ability at all. Wes, angered by the appointment, had made sure the little kriff met with an accident after he led Wes’s company into four ambushes in one mock skirmish. Nobody could pin the murder on Wes, of course, but only the big brass cared – the senator’s son had few friends.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]Immediately after he was commissioned, Wes deserted and fled into the arms of the Atrisian Empire, which was more than happy to welcome him. Wes served with distinction, applying for and creating a new special forces unit that would be tasked with much of the black ops work of the Empire. He was never publicly recognized for his work, but until the Empire’s demise he worked tirelessly to make sure that order and justice were served within the Empire’s boundries.[/SIZE]

He was still a wanted man in Republic space – they did not take well to deserters – and while the rising First Order was not a democracy, it brought no justice – only hatred and cruelty. Instead, a new and rising government caught Wes’s eye. Built on the ideals of the legendary First Galactic Empire, it promised a government that would create peace and justice throughout the galaxy. He made contact with its founders and soon found himself in command of a newly created Special Forces division of the New Order military…
