We are all Made of Stars

Since being appointed to the position of Knight Aspirant Kara had decided that she needed to further expand her skillset. She had a basic grasp of the abilities needed to survive combat, or a dangerous expedition, but not much else. A good leader knew a little bit of everything, if only to get a grasp of what he or she did not know.

As a representative of the order’s knights, Kara was expected to be able to speak for all of them. This required more balance than she currently possessed. To correct this she had decided to learn things that could be used when her life wasn’t in danger. Healing was pretty much the opposite of her current abilities, so it was a logical place to start.

There was no better healer in the Templar order than @[member="Feena Mason"], and she was willing to teach anyone who wished to learn. Kara had set an appointment to learn from the Archeon several days prior, but now that the time had almost come, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. The older woman was the leader of the whole order, and despite the new title, Kara was only a knight. What if, as had happened in the past, she had difficulty learning? Would Mason become frustrated if she felt like Kara was wasting her time?

Another student. Another person full to the brim with potential. It was positively exhilarating. Teaching. She hadn't done it in a good while. And, well, she missed it. So when @[member="Kara Avoyos"] asked her for aditional training, how could the Archon refuse her?

When Feena arrived in the set meeting location, she immediately opened her bag, pulled out her medication and popped two pills into her mouth. She could not afford to get lazy with taking her medication, especially her pain pills. Her arm was still quite sore, even though her bones had since been mended from the recent attempt on her life.

In all honesty? She was scared still. Shaken up. She'd very nearly died in her own apartment. And the worst part of it? She didn't even see it coming. At all.

Feena shook her head, putting the memories and thoughts of the incident to the back of her mind. She had work to do now. It wouldn't do anybody any favors for her to be distracted today.

Given the stress that the Archon was under at the moment, it may have been a bit selfish of Kara to demand the attention of a woman who had so recently underwent a trauma. However, she’d agreed to the training, so perhaps this was a distraction? Mother had often put extra focus on the smaller aspects of her royal duties whenever her personal life became overbearing. Kara had often been the cause of that stress.

“Are you well Archon Mason?” The knight asked politely. “I can seek instruction elsewhere if you need more time to recover.”

While she had been looking forward to learning from the older woman, it wasn’t like the skill was going to be the start of a new career path. As long as Kara could gain a passible enough grasp of the skill to use it in the field then it didn’t matter who taught her how to do it. There were many other skilled healers in the sanctum who could probably kind the time to teach a crusader how to heal.
