A walking cannon similar to the Dwarf Spider Droid, the WD-1 Reaper Droid is a mobile field gun droid designed to support troops on the battle field. The droid's hexapedal base allow it to move effectively over rough terrain, and provides a stable base for firing its particle cannon. This cannon is quite powerful, and fires a pale yellow, explosive particle bolt that, due to the in between nature of particle weapons, isn't fully stopped by any one shield. While this is a great addition to a unit, it can be affected by ray and particle shields, as particle weapons sit between mass drivers and energy weapons.
Another key feature of the war droid is its rear fins. These fins are modular, and can house either extended shields, extended scanners, or a set of grenade launchers. The droid brain could also be swapped in a similar way. While the droid is effective as a mobile cannon, it's not every bright, and it has been noted that the leg joins are somewhat weak.
