Years Active 23 Years
Employer Astral Enterprises
Title Founder and CEO
Spouse(s) Ameli Drax-Starr (nee: Raxi)

Wayde Drax-Star Korad is a Coruscanti Business Executive, who is the current CEO & Founder of the Astral Enterprises company. Before filling this role Drax had a lengthy career at the Czerka Corporation, through one of its subsidiaries, Czerka Shipping and formally Czerka Mining. Before this he worked at the Santhe/Seiner Corporation, rising to become a Departmental Director.

During his tenure at the Santhe/Seiner Corporation, Drax built up a web of contacts across the Imperial Military-Industrial complex, standing him in good stead to make a move over the struggling Czerka Corporation after it began to struggle in a wide investor dropout. When he was in the position of President of Czerka Shipping, the division saw a considerable turnaround, with new space lanes being opened through Imperial Occupied space; thanks in part to the contacts Drax had made during his time in Santhe/Seiner. He was noted to be a strong advocate both in public, and in private meetings, for closer ties with the Imperial power of the Sith Order; something which frequently earned him the ire of the Czerka CEO, and the mainstream establishment alike.

Over the course of his long career, Drax has been featured in the Czerka News Networks annual list of ‘40 Under 40 - Rising Stars’ and has featured in a documentary that went ‘behind the scenes’ at the Czerka Corporation during the fall of the Republic. In recognition of his services to industry, he was invited to join the Imperial Department for Military Researches technology advisory council last year.

Early Life

Born on the lower levels (the so-called ’Undercity’) of the Core World of Coruscant, to a young parent - with an unknown father, Drax went through basic schooling, before requiring self-funding to head to college. Leading home at as soon as he became an adult legally, he took up work as a Sales Rep for the Santhe/Seiner Corporation, part-time whilst heading through secondary and higher education.

He attended the Central University of the Core, studying for an Honors in Business and Galactic Culture, graduating in the top 10% of his class. Drax is the son of Macilla Starr, a former exotic dancer in the lower levels of the Core. He is known for rarely speaking about his parents, and has walked out of interview when the subject has been raised.

Career

Drax began his career whilst still in higher education, as a part-time field sales representative for the homeware branch of Santhe/Seiner Technologies. He had a natural affinity for the role, and when he graduated was accepted without application into the Coruscanti Sales Team for the business.

Joining Santhe

Fresh out of University, Drax was eager to advance his career and started his first job within a week of his final examination. Taking on the role of a Field Sales Agent, Drax worked within the Speeders & Home Electronics (Droids) Department of the Company, rapidly asserting himself as a good persuader and strong minded activist for change within the company. Initially working alone, he was placed to the top of his set after launching a new campaign to sell into the more upmarket region of the planet, considered a no-go area for the non-noble classes.

Despite the idea being dismissed by his Managers as ”dangerous and ineffective”, Drax took a gamble and continued with the plan regardless, taking additional classes in behavioral etiquette, and seeking to further understand the unique cultural practices of the Core Noble Families, so as to better integrate with them, and thus secure a profitable sales line. All in all he took just shy of six months worth of classes before stepping foot in the Noble District.

Between the glittering spires of the Nobles High-Rise Palaces there can be no doubting that the man felt of place in his new settings, but after swinging himself an invite to one of the upper-class parties in the area, he managed to ‘infiltrate’ the gatherings of the elite. Once inside his natural charm took over, and the young man was soon able to open up a new business line, becoming the supplier of choice for Speeders, Droids and Electronics for the wealthy citizens of the Deep Core.

Naturally, such success did not pass unnoticed, and he was rapidly promoted to ‘Director of Deep Core Operations’ to oversee what was rapidly to become one of the Santhe/Seiner Corporations most lucrative business ventures. Beginning to make waves in the Corporate world, the rising star was profiled by the Czerka News Network (CNN), and was soon inundated with offers to move to other companies. Despite this, he was to remain with Santhe/Seiner for five more years.

Expanding the operations of the company across the Core, Drax met considerable resistance from the Senate, who saw the Santhe/Sienar companies links within Sith Space as a threat; with some of the more populist Senators demanding that the company be assigned a ‘Senatorial Overseer’ to ensure the company was not harbouring Imperial Sympathisers.

Aware of the somewhat dangerous nature of bad publicity, the Director made attempts to assuage the doubts of the Senate, making moves into the Branding and PR fields, clandestine lobbying become something of a frequent occurrence in the day-to-day operations of the Company. Applying his considerable understanding of etiquette and political practice to the Senate and its members came in useful as the young Executive managed to stave off the attempts of the Senate to push Santhe/Sienar from the Core.

Lobbyist

In recognition of his need to press forward with a somewhat more political agenda for the company, Head Office moved Drax over to the position of ‘Director of Public Affairs’ in one of the Santhe/Sienar groups many departments and subsidiaries, so as to allow him to lobby the Senate with more transparency and ease. He took up his new position shortly after the death of the former Chancellor, and was quick to make inroads into her replacements political staff - although never met the Chancellor directly.

Within this roll he was quick to put down any doubts of businesses malicious links to the Sith Order, and moved quickly to adopt more clandestine approaches to ensuring the Company's objectives would be met. Framing the Senator for Rodia by placing Spice in his office was one particular example of Drax’ ruthlessness over the course of his time as a lobbyist - with the frame spinning a vote for greater industrial oversight on Non-Republic companies in favour of Santhe/Seiner by one vote exactly.

Thanks to his contacts within the Senate, and with the Sith Order however, Drax began to hear greater and greater rumours of the incoming Sith-Republic war, and ever eager to position himself out of harm's way, he began to make plans to transition out of the company, setting his eyes on a more valuable prize - one that had recently changed hands.

Moving to Czerka

Keen to ensure he was in the right place at the right time, Drax moved to a company that he saw as better positioned to come out on top, regardless of who won the war, the newly acquired Czerka Corporation. Having recently changed hands and fallen into the ownership of a Kuati Noble, he made arrangements through industrial contacts to be moved to the new business, initially as a Sector-Director for the Czerka Mining company.

Czerka Mining

One of the largest branches of the Czerka Corporation, Czerka Mining had operations across the Galaxy, and was one of the main suppliers of raw materials to almost every manufacturing company in the Galaxy. Being moved to the company was a considerable test for Drax, and he was placed as Director for the Chommel Sector, an area known for its blend of rich Plasma reserves, and dangerously independent natives. Setting up operations on Naboo, one of the most densely and profoundly populated planets in the Sector, Drax set in place a plan to bring the native-owned plasma-mines under the control of the Corporation.

Surprisingly to the Czerka main board, the plan was met with protests and riots, which later developed into outright guerrilla warfare from the native ‘Gungan’ population, who held the mines in an almost spiritual light. Drax was quick to quash any suggestion that the company would be pulling out of the area, and instead brokered deals with the local human-occupied City States, offering to lease the land from the them in return for mineral rights. It is widely considered that this lead to some of the initial conflict between the Gungans and the Cash-Strapped City-States of the Southern-Naboo.

Moving quickly to capitalise on the situation, and the company's newfound stream of income he opened up talks with Imperial Authorities to commence mining in numerous other sectors and was rapidly moved to the position of Vice-President of Galactic Operations (New) so as to ensure he remained with the Company. Heading up numerous ventures to expand the Corporations influence across the Sith and Outer-Rim territories, Drax was largely distant from the front lines of the war, and thus relatively unaffected by it.

Czerka Shipping

It was the death of the Czerka CEO & Chairman that saw his moving from the Mining branch of the Company over to the more logistically inclined Czerka Shipping, following the company's restructuring by its desperate board. With share prices collapsing across the board, the company devolved the centralised power of the company, to attempt to block out the vast black holes their departing CEO had left in the balances and more importantly, the company's financial reserves for what could only be described as ‘dodgy practices’.

Drax’ move to the company was deemed political, placing the forward thinking and so-called ‘Rising Star’ into one of the Companies floundering branches. Personally, Drax thought of it as a death sentence, and with the culture of the organisation becoming more and more toxic with each passing day, he saw himself as having to fight to keep his own head above the water line, let alone the businesses.

Advancing on a program of brutal cost management, to such an extent that at one stage all purchases of new vessels had to be approved by him directly, Drax shrunk the business of Czerka Shipping on purpose, firing sufficient people that it is estimated several more distant colonies in the Outer-Rim actually starved as a result of the delays in shipping. This new approach, whilst effective, somewhat marred his image as the golden boy of the company, and soon left him smeared with the new nickname ‘Drax the Hammer’.

Not one to be put off by the necessity for action, Drax continued to focus on turning the business around, whilst also staving off the attempts from his rivals to usurp him from his ever strengthening position. Starting a new freelance shipping initiative, in which Czerka Shipping leased branded Czerka Vessels to Freelance Pilots, alongside a planetary Mono-Rail program, on the ravaged worlds of the Former-Republic, he began to hack into the losses the company was experiencing, and set his eyes on greater heights within Czerka itself, seeking to move out of the Company and up into Corporate.

Czerka Corporation

Now entering his mid-thirties, Drax was promoted to the position of Vice-President following the unfortunate death of the previous incumbent of the role; a man who had been linked to the attempted assassination of Drax several weeks earlier. Whilst it is not public knowledge, Drax poisoned his rival with Cryptberry Tea at a party, in revenge for the public attempt on his life.

Taking on the remit of internal security for his first Vice-Presidency tenure, reporting directly to the management committee of the Corporation itself, Drax was quick to employ a team of former military personnel to trace and track those who stole from the company, making use of a cadre of HK-Series Droids to do the dirty work - after wall, with the fall of the Republic, and the Sith yet to fully set up shop, there was little law enforcement was going to do to stop Corporate Espionage.

After bringing no less than fifty people back to the Czerka Correctional Facilities, he was moved onto the position of Executive Vice-President, with a focus on Branding and Partnerships, making him part of the EVP Committee, and second to the CEO & Chairman themselves. It is in this position that he was tasked with ensuring greater Imperial Cooperation within the many branches of Czerka, as well as outside of the Empire.

Setting up alone

Soon after this, he sold his own small shareholdings in the company, and founded his own company, Astral Enterprises; a modest technology and logistics company - made through his usual cutthroat method of business. Purchasing operations across the Core, he bought out some smaller business and folded them into his own, quickly establishing his own name on the market, and seeking to expand across the wider Galaxy.

Assassination Attempt (Czerka Shipping)

Whilst heading up the Czerka Shipping Branch of the Corporation, Drax was in a heated rivalry with another Executive, the Vice-President Emil Hurst, a man with a reported history of substance abuse who had been with the company for just shy of forty years. The rivalry grew to a head after Emil attempted to turn Drax over to the Board for bribing Imperial Personnel, as well as having a history of doing so in the Republic.

When this attempt to frame him happened, Emil took matters into his own hands, and placed a makeshift explosive on the underside of Drax’ speeder-car. Drax was fortunately running late for a meeting, and asked his driver to go on ahead and allow him to take the meeting remotely. Starting the speeder, his driver was killed instantly, and Drax (who was near but not in the Speeder) hospitalised for several weeks.

Despite the Doctors giving the all clear, Drax continued to suffer headaches and suffers from severe paranoia.

Personal Life

Drax has been married once, to the actress and model Ameli Starr. The two met when filming a promotional video for ‘Czerka Tours’. They have no children.

Personality

A caring man when it comes to his family, he is known to have a good sense of humour, as well as a keen eye for detail. Within the Corporate Environment, he is meticulous and well organised, preferring to do things his way, with many describing him as a ruthless Corporate animal who hides behind a thin veneer of kindness and empathy. He is not a religious man, and doesn’t hold any particular allegiances to any one group within the Galaxy, preferring to pin his colors to the mast of his employer.

He has little tolerance for those who are not willing to do things themselves, and is always seeking out new ways to further his business, and by extension to enhance his own personal achievements. Drax values his privacy, and thus is not easily drawn into the high-society cliche, preferring to operate through coercion and force behind the scenes.

Drax is exceptionally talented at manipulating people, and reasonable skilled in close quarters combat and with pistols. He is a talented engineer and mathematician, and has no force sensitivity whatsoever. Thanks to his injuries following his attempted assassination, he suffers from intense headaches and paranoia upon occasion.

Assets

Thanks to his position, which remunerates him with a salary and stock options, Drax easily meets the requirements of being a multimillionaire, and lives a more than comfortable life with a family home on Alderaan, and a business apartment in the upper levels of Coruscant. He also possesses his own luxury speeder and luxury Yacht, alongside a Holdout Blaster Pistol which he carries at all times.

However most of his personal inventory comes from the company he works for, and he is afforded use of company assets, such as an Executive shuttle, and a protocol droid. In addition to this Drax makes use of a ‘Pack’ Communicator, although he is known to have private comms devices aside from his business unit.
