C S A U S

The city was bustling. So many Chiss filtering out and about doing their jobs. Each one preforming a task to their best ability. Some racing to get to where they needed to be. Others in a leisurely stroll. I was here on business as well. While it wasn't saving the day or anything like that, it was to drop off some precious cargo. Beside me, a little hover cart followed my ever step as I walked through the city. A blaster carbine in my hands, and two Chiss local enforcement flanking me. Taking it to the building it needed to be at. All I knew was that it was for someone important. Walking up the ramps through the main doors, I stood by as one of the Chiss spoke in their native language. I could pick up a couple words here and there, but I wasn't fluent enough to get the entire conversation. Even more so when they were speaking rather fast. It was a couple moments of them going back and forth before the other officer spoke up to me.

"You don't have to stay if you don't want."
"Need to get paid first."
"They didn't pay you?"
"Half ahead, half after."
"That makes sense."
"I was told the second half would be something I would find useful."
"Okay. Then let me speed this up."
"How come?"
"They are arguing if you should be allowed in."

I rolled my eyes at the statement. Of course because I didn't look exactly like them, I was to be excluded. When the second officer walked up. Speaking to the receptionist? Not sure who she was, but she was starting to get angry. I could feel her emotions radiating off of her. But as soon as the calm voice of the second officer spoke up, she silenced. pressed a couple buttons, then spoke into an intercom. A second of silence before a voice came over saying something else. I thing from what I could gather was to send me up.

The two officers then walked over to me. The first one nodding and releasing a sigh before starting to walk off. The hover cart followed him and I did as well. The second officer who had spoken to me did so again.

"Got you through. Just be mindful. You are carrying weapons."
"Yes."
"People will be warry of you."
"They should be."
"I am trying to say tread lightly."
"I always do."

He looked at me for a moment then shook his head. Following with me to an elevator. As we were brought to some VIP suite, a man walked forward and smiled brightly. Speaking again in that language before addressing me.

"Ahhh. Miss Kessan! Thank you for delivering what I requested. As stated, I have the other half of your payment."
"Please."
"Absolutely."

He turned around and went to a different room. Then came back with a small box. Producing it to me, I stared at him. My eyes looking directly into his as he expected me to take it. he cleared his throat before I answered.

"Open it please."
"I'm sorry?"
"My line of work is dangerous. I don't open anything someone else is handing me."
"My apologies. I did not think you were one to be a stickler for such things."
"Keeps me alive."
"Fair enough Miss Kessan. Here."

Opening it up, it was a small band with what looked to be something similar to a watch or a wrist communication device. However, as he removed it showing it was not attached to a bomb or anything, he spoke of what it was.

"It is a custom and uniquely made Optical dephaser. It can turn you invisible, hide you from scanners, and even change how you look. I figured with your kind of work, something like this could be... of great value."

I spoke nothing. My hand staying on the grip of the carbine, but my other hand reached out to grab it from him. Indicating I wished to see it. He relented and handed it to me. I looked at it closely. Feeling nothing awkward or any tingling that something could have been wrong. Nodding my head, I reached up to a breast pocket and placed it within. Closing it up then patting it.

"I appreciate it."
"Absolutely! if you do require more work, please do contact me. I always have more work."
"I have a couple already on my list. Should they thin, I will let you know."

His smile was bright and toothy. Turning around he faced the officers and smiled. Speaking to them in another language. I tried my best to pay attention, when one word spoke out to me.

Slave.

My eyebrows raised for a moment, but narrowed.

"You did not just have me transport a slave for you."
"And what of it is your concern?"
"Its illegal, and if I am caught, causes me many problems."
"You were compensated."
"Without knowing what I was transporting."
"And I find your tone changing Miss. I do not find it acceptable."
"Pay me more."
"How dare you inquire that of me! Officers!"

I knew without waiting what was going to happen. in a split second the carbine was raised. The barrel releasing two rounds into the first officers chest. Third to the head. Dropping my body weight, the second's weapon fired just above my head where I had been, A blaster round to his foot brought him crumpling down to the ground in pain. Second shot left a smoking hole in his head. Flashing the hot barrel at the Chiss who had just paid me, smoke waving in the air between us. His face filled with a sense of dread and fear.

"I was trying to be nice. Now you caused me problems."
"You have more on your way. Even if I do die."

In his hand was a transponder he had hit. Informing the entire building he was being attacked. My hand lanced out and yanked it with the force. Dropping it to the ground to crush it under my heel.

"You're a Jedi?"
"Not exactly."

The Carbine brought up and fired one last shot into his head. body dropping to the floor with a thud.

"Now to find a way out of here."

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
"Denon's economy is built on workers ladies and gentlemen. Strong workers build many things, starving workers build few and the dead cannot build anything at all." THe words came out as she was looking at the men who were there... several that she was looking to have invest in many of the plans that they had. The Director of Upcity had expanded outwards thanks to Dominique... they were reforming much of Denon and well the best way to do it was with workers for now. Highly paid, highly skilled and making sure their people on the world were getting much the same treatment. Her hand moving credit chits onto the table and removing several from them as she made her point.

"Denon needs the most skilled, best fed workers who want to be there. No slave labor and if they have families well we have the means to incentivize their coming to the world." She looked at it as some of them seemed resistant to her proposal... well they didn't matter nearly as much. She was recruiting and offworlders brought skills that could help build up the districts from the surface abyss to the new skyline districts. As they were left to think about it she was leaving.. always be willing to walk away as her comlink was chiming in. The Uptown Girl was back in system for its galactic tour... another of their endeavors.

"Think about my offer ladies and gentlemen." She walked from the room and down into the streets with a small look as the duster suppressed her presence in the force from prying eyes but the beautiful power suit under it combined into a more professional and business like look. The sound came over the crowd but it was faint. "Blasters?" She said it to herself while looking around for a moment with her eyes but she was still walking.

I knew that soon there would be more guards and officers. However, I was not going to just leave this slave here. They would be fed back into the system where they would be taken advantage of. In a moment of anger I let the growl escape my throat as I walked from the dead body of the client over to the hover container. I didn't know how to open it and it would take time to do so. Something I didn't have much of right now. Yet I needed to get it out of here. Already being high enough up in the building. The VIP suite was many stories in the air. However, there was no way I was going to go down naturally.

Stairs also were not a good choice. This thing wouldn't fit and I would have to fight it most of the way down anyways with its hover functions. Looking around I needed to give myself some time. Placing the Carbine onto the box, I went around the rooms and threw together a make shift barricade of furniture thrown in front of the doors to the elevator. Currently, it was better than nothing. Cus at that moment, I heard the dinging of an elevator rising.

My head dipped. Tired of situations like this. Yet her I am anyways. Already I was too loud. I didn't want to have to use the blaster but there was no way I could get out of this, with the slave, without some kind of blood spilt. Theirs was much preferred. Rushing over to the cargo, I turned it on to be following me now. Throwing the signature device into a pocket among my gear. Then started to push it towards the window. Getting closer, I heard the final ding of the elevator.

As soon as the doors opened, blaster fire raced through the main entry way. Breaking random things and leaving smoking holes. I kept my focus on what was ahead of me. Getting the cargo closer and closer. I brought out my pistol with one hand, Brought it up to take aim, and fired bolt after bolt at the glass. Hearing yelling behind me, They were fighting through the barricade as I got it so close. Picking up the Carbine, I threw the strap of it over my head so it was slapping against my back with each movement.

My left hand opened up and threw a kinetic push at the window. Sending whatever was left of the glass falling into the streets. Yet, the cargo container wouldn't move forward.

"Goddamn it!"

Cursing to myself over the yelling, hearing them breaking the barricade further, I had no time left to do anything else. I braced myself against the bottom of the hover cargo. Feeling it trying to repel my hands and fingers. Gripping tightly, I squatted, then with a yell lifted with everything I had.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Picking it up just enough that with just a little push it fell out from the window. In that moment, I heard yelling and a blaster bolt fly past my head. Turning to see the group of soldiers running at me, I didn't wait. Leaping from the window. Arm wide and legs out to try and create enough drag that I could stop myself...

If I could stop myself.

The sounds got louder... then glass shattered as Ayumi was moving and debating with herself. She could leave... walk away right now and take the win she had or she could get involved. She wasn't a jedi.. she had training from force users, she worked with jedi, she even on occasion wore a robe to play jedi and senator but she wasn't bound by the whole protect all the people or solve problems.... however on the other hand situations like this usually usually... usually involved a woman or pair of them... and she couldn't turn down being seen as heroic to the female gaze. Her thoughts raced when she was moving with her feet and her hand reached into her duster. Retrieving the lipstick for a moment.

"Damn hormones." She said it while moving as the sound of blaster fire grew more and more frequent. Shattering glass raining down from above while she looked up to see someone jump. "Oh that isn't good." She said it while looking as her hand went to shaade her eyes and she looked at the woman figure and blue hair. "Damn.... that chick is hot. Wonder if..." It trailed off as she mentally debated what lines she could use. Her hands coming up as she breathed in and outwards... drawing on the force to focus her energies up and up into a cushion. Not a sudden jolt or jerk stopping her.. that might snap something.

'Hmmm completely called for to ask if she is an angel falling from the sky like that.' Oh yeah she had it, her heroic moment, she had her line and she had some people looking aat her as she gave a wink to a girl in the crowd. "Hopefully this looks awesome."
