DESCRIPTION
Vulkan crafted his lightsaber shortly after being bound within his Barabel body, taking advantage of his new found freedom and anonymity. The Lightsaber is made from Mandalorian Steel, Vulkan having at one time been a Mandalorian Beskarsmith, crafted with a very minor form of Sith Alchemy when he created the components. No longer capable of the great feats of power and ability he was once able to accomplish, his prowess was only enough to barely make the hilt Lightsaber Resistant, much to the Sith's ire. Prolonged contact will deform and melt the hilt, despite the use of Sith Alchemy in its creation.
The crystals he used were a pair of crystals, provided to him by Ostanes. The first, a fairly large, unstable lava crystal which formed the blade was used in binding Vulkan into his new body, and thus the bond with the crystal was easy and complete. The second, a Vexxtal crystal was not so. Instead Vulkan found it hard to concentrate while he imbued it with his essence, even painful to do so. Together, they create a wicked red, orange, and yellow flame-like blade, crackling with energy, wavering like fire, casting off sparks and small bits of plasma as it burned. Its noise was audibly different, with the sound of fire crackling when it makes contact with an object. When it contacts an object, small amounts of plasma leak out of the containment field, sometimes scattering like sparks when striking a surface or blade. Because of its unstable nature, the blade has a tendency to short out when used too long, normally not lasting a full ten minutes of continuous use before it shorts out for thirty or so seconds, unresponsive to attempts to turn it back on.
Vulkan, despite having very rarely wielded a Lightsaber, had learned how to create one from several sources, including Ostanes, and the Holocron of Darth Caedus and Darth Bane. Using their knowledge, he crafted his lightsaber with a Bifurcating Cyclical ignition and the other components necessary to allow him to use the blade underwater, a dual phase setting allowing him to increase the length of the blade with the press of a button on the hilt, and the use of non-dimetris circuits in the activation loop. He also included a copper faraday cage lining in the hilt to grant it partial resistance to EMP and Ion attacks, though something as direct as an Ion Blaster to the hilt will still deactivate it.

Strengths:
- Unstable Lava Blade: The primary crystal is an unstable lava crystal, creating an erratic blade, crackling with sparks of fire, streaks of electricity and heat to run along the blade, and plasma to drip from the blade when it clashed with solid objects.
- Persistent Injuries: The Vexxtal Crystal can cause wounds from the blade to be difficult to heal, take longer to fully heal, or leave phantom injuries that despite being fully healed may sometimes bother the victim. This effect is hit or miss, depending on the person, how the blade is acting given its unstable nature, and how bad the injury is.
