Strengths:
  • Long-Range: Just like its previous incarnation the Dark Blade MK II is a ship meant as the ultimate artillery support to a fleet. The vessel is equipped with a host of long range weaponry including turbo-lasers, ion cannons, and a single Hypeverlocity gun running down the spine of the vessel. The Ship is meant to fire at enemy fleets from range, taking out destroyers and other capital ships before they can even get close.
  • Point-Defense: The Mark II Dark Blade is equipped with a variety of point defense measures that allow it to survive long range missile assaults as well as smaller fighter and bomber attacks.
Weaknesses:
  • Low Crew: Much like with many starships produced by Vanir Technologies the Dark Blade doesn't have much of a crew. The VT-Command crew as well as the ships relatively small size means the vessel doesnt have many soldiers to defend it.
  • No hangar: The Dark Blades have no hangar to speak of, the only access point being a singular bay located on the aft of the ship. This is enough for a few shuttles, but no fighters or bombers.
  • Forward Fire Arch: The entire weapon suite of the Dark Blade MK II's stands in a firing arch of one hundred and eighty degrees, move beyond this and the Dark Blade will be unable to target your vessel without turning.
Description:
The Dark Blade was originally created by Titan Industries under the purview of Alric Kuhn.

When the Tetan first took over the corporation he needed a product to show that his reign at Titan wouldn't be a downgrade from the previous CEO Tsavong Kraal, this product eventually turned out to be the Dark Blade. The ship was produced at first in a limited number, moved as a prototype at the request of Darth Mierin. These ships were designed in their sole role as combat vessels. They were no occupational craft, nor were they meant for any other task. The Dark Blades were warships through and through, specified to take on enemy fleets and pound them into dust before they could ever become a threat.

The Dark Blade was the first industrial ship built by Titan Industries, soon followed by The more Famed Immortals and then Wyyrloks, these vessels became staple of the One Sith and could often be seen in the deep core as well as on multiple patrols throughout the Fleet.

Even after the fall of the One Sith the Dark Blade continued to see use throughout the galaxy. Multiple factions, Planetary Governments, and Mercenary Organizations utilized these vessels in their defensive and assault fleets, continuing the reputation of these vessels.

Vanir Technologies, controlled and operated by Alric Kuhn, of course had the original plans and profiles of the Dark Blades. These schematics, along with a host of others, were originally taken by Alric when he departed Titan Industries. Much like Asheran Armorweave the plans for the Dark Blades were stored and stashed away, placed in some file on Byblos in order to preserve their legacy. Eventually, by the order of Rigor, the droid entity now in control of Vanir Technologies, the ship production of Vanir was brought back to the forefront.

Through the use of The Foundry, Rigor began a kickstart of Ship production at Vanir. This project found its beginning with The Arkuhn and eventually began its expansion through the reproduction of The Dark Blades.

These schematics were taken out of storage and quickly updated. Newer and better systems were installed, upgraded weaponry, and of course Vanir's famed control systems were added. Quickly the first of the Mark II's were thrown off the line of The Foundry. The ships held the same design principles, though were slightly smaller. Quickly the Mark II's wormed their way into Vanir's Corporate Defense fleets and onto the open Market.
