Strengths:
  • Powerful: The VT-Bolt Blaster is the first weapon of it's design created by Vanir Technologies. The Bolt Blaster was designed to function on the same principals as a Wookiee Bowcaster. Instead of firing simple charged energy or ionoized gas, the Bolt Blaster instead shoots the same explosive bolts as a Wookie Bowcaster. These bolts are charged with a powercell contained within the back of the weapon, loaded via the magazine and fitted into place so the two systems work perfectly in sync. The weapon function in exactly the same way as a Bowcaster does, the charge propelling the bolt forward and the bolt striking with the same amount of force. This means that although the VT-Bolt Blaster is quite heavy, it can do a lot of damage.
Weaknesses:
  • Twice The Reload: Besides being obnoxiously heavy, the VT-Bolt Blaster's most annoying quality is the fact that after running through three magazines of Explosive bolts it needs to be reloaded a second time. The only way for the weapon to function properly is if it utilizes a secondary powercell located within the back of the weapon. This powercell drains after firing 18 bolts, and thus needs to be changed. This feature means that after three complete magazines one must effectively reload twice in order for the weapon to function. In the heat of combat this is easy to forget.
Description:
Always a fan of new ideas and invention Vanir Technologies has long since prided itself in the creation of unique weapons.

Though so far most of these weapons have taken on the form of Disruptors, let it not be said that Vanir Technologies hasn't looked into other options. The result of those options is the design and creation of the VT-Bolt Blaster.

The weapon in theory is relatively straightforward.

The functionality of the VT-Bolt Blaster was ripped almost entirely out of a typically designed Wookiee Bowcaster, simply sized down and altered slightly to fit into more of a pistol sized weapon. This was remarkably easy given that the only true design challenge was in allowing the weapon an increased stability which was achieved through making the weapon somewhat heavier on it's back end. This weight was created through both a heavier durasteel frame as well as the placement of the weapons secondary ammunition, a powercell.

All in all, the design of the weapon is simple, just a scaled down and more contained version of a bowcaster. It has the same strengths, same penetrative power, and qualities as a bowcaster while maintaining the size of a heavy blaster pistol.

It also looks cool.
