Image Source: http://www.kitrae.net/fantasy/news2010.html (As a note, there is no butt spike like in this image. This was the best I found for reference purposes on the head)

Intent: To allow much more diversity in the fighting Ferus does, along with giving him a true Sith Sword.

Development Thread: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/48563-in-search-of-purpose/

Manufacturer: Darth Ferus

Model: Sith Sword (Spear)

Affiliation: Ferus

Modularity: No

Production: Unique

Material: Songsteel (Shaft) ; Alchemised Metal (Head)

Classification: Guan Dao

Size: One Handed, Two Handed

Length: 1.8 M. shaft .6 m Head 2.4 Total

Weight: 1.3 kg

Special Features:

  • Impervious to Lightsabers (All)
  • The ability to absorb and release on contact electrical currents such as Force Lightning (Tip only)
  • Reflect and redirect blasters (Tip only)
  • Darkside Nexus (Tip only)

Description:

The spear is something that the Zabrak made for himself utilizing Sith Alchemy. Utilizing songsteel as the staff itself, he would make it so the weapon could resist a lightsaber from all angles without being overly heavy. The tip was forged within an Alchemic basin to give it the properties of any powerful Sith Sword.

While the entire weapon can resist lightsabers, only the tip has the characteristics of a Sith Sword. Force Lightning absorption, the ability to reflect and redirect blasters, and a darkside Nexus to empower himself. With only the head of the spear being alchemised, the ability to reflect and redirect blasters is far more difficult. And only by touching something with the head of the blade could he use the lightning.

With the weight of the tip, the blade is balanced at around two thirds of it's length from the base, making it ideal for using one hand or two handed maneuvers. It's shorter length allows for him to swing about both ends as a weapon, but only the tip would be considered lethal. The claw below is also alchemised.

Couple of points regarding this initially:
* We need to know how long the haft/handle is and how long the head is (since you make such demarkation for the effects being ONLY in the head of the spear) AND a total length of them together.

*Does the claw below the main cutting body count as alchemized or songsteel? This matters for things like parrying and stabbing (being able to release lightining from it)

*1.8 meteres is approx 5'10" to be precise..... This is NOT a short spear. This is average length. Most spears run 5.5'-7'... However, the determining factor will be the length of the head and haft. The head could be feasibly two feet long (like some Eastern/Oriental spears) and that would make more sense. Either way, we need to fix the terminology and this will likely impact how you chose to use it RP wise.

*In the picture submitted the end has a butt spike, not a cap/weight. I'd like to see that spike spelled out as just songsteel(if it is supposed to be) and noted if it's sharp enough to pierce anything or not, you says it's non lethal, but are we talking just counterweight or what? The picture would make it enough to pierce flesh with force behind it.

*For a short spear the weight is extremely heavy... 80" spears from Cold Steel (notoriously heavy and over built pieces) are 4.4lbs, which yours approaches... 3 lbs or less would be more practical.

*Also, a short spear is likely going to be almost exclusively one handed for a lot of combat except straight forward thrusts and over-body passes to change hands. And they are primarily used for throwing, not cutting/slashing, which this pictorial reference is close to a guan do or the like from China, which are classically two handed and slashing... That needs to be sorted,

I would suggest: 3.75 lbs, 80", two handed to make the most sense with how the spear looks in the pic and description.

Modified accordingly.

The buttspike isn't there, which I made sure to note beside the image source in this edit.

Otherwise, I didn't know a Guan Dao before you mentioned it, and that was exactly what I was trying to go for. Updated as a Guan Dao.
