TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

 • Classification: Sword

 • Size: 1.3716m Average

 • Weight: 2.3 kg Light
SPECIAL FEATURES

 • Lightsaber resistant

 • Light

 • Maglocked sheath

 • Micro edged
Strengths:

 • Lightsaber resistant: Because the blade is made of songsteel it is resistant to lightsabers

 • Owner lock: The sheath has a special mag-lock on it that makes it nearly impossible to get the sword out of the sheath if the owner does not unlock it

 • Deep Cut: The blade is micro edge so when the blade cuts it cuts on a molecular level that can leave injuries that can be difficult to heal
Weaknesses:

 • Dulling: The blade edge degrade gradually, over time. After prolonged use, and depending on what it hits. Armor would wears it down faster than flesh.

 • Lock issues: If the owner’s hand is injured the sword will most likely not disengage from the lock and will be useless

 • Degradation: Each cut the sword makes will be less damaging because the micro-edges are precision sharpened. Armor accelerates this process

 • EMP Failsafe: If the sheath is hit with an ion or EMP blast the sheath will require a manual failsafe key to unlock if the wielder loses the key the only way to unlock the sword is to return to the smith
DESCRIPTION
This sword is part of the second wave of Quoron’s blades. The last of the First wave was Kaine’s sword. This second wave is meant to be Quoron’s rededication to the art of swordsmithing. To forge the Jade Fang a conference with Alkor needed to happen so that the sword would be to his liking. They settled on a relatively simple talwar design with the only advanced technology that was involved would be the owner lock on the sheath. The blade would be made of songsteel and use a black hilt and blade with a green crossguard. After all, this was sorted out Quoron set off in the process of gathering the materials needed to create the sword.

Because Quoron had become an established smith the metals had become much easier to come by. With a simple call to a mining company, he obtained the songsteel for the sword as well as for the sheathe. Once this call was made he began to dig around his workshop for the electronics needed to make the mag-lock. After this was completed he ordered a laser to engrave the edges into the blade because despite his best efforts that were not something he could do without mechanical assistance. A few days later the equipment arrived and he was ready to begin forging the sword.

With this new age of swords, Quoron resolved to use the same method of prototyping first and then going about crafting the blade. He had to take four steps to make the sword: first he needed to forge the blade, second, he needed to make the crossguard, third he needed to make the mag locked sheathe, and fourth he needed to use the laser cutter to sharpen the blade. The first step took multiple attempts and many weeks because the smith was not willing to move on until the blade was perfect. After finishing that step he took a few hours, made the crossguard and pommel, and attached them to the blade. Then he moved on to the making of the maglocks which did not cause him as much trouble as he originally anticipates because he was already familiar with the technology and used a locking mechanism on the crossguard as the location of the release. Lastly, he activated the machine and used it to cut micro-edges into the sword so that it would have some bite though he found that would take away from the art of his sword. When all was said and done he was proud of the work he had done and was ready to move his workshop into a new age of craftsmanship.
