Appearance
Falleen are often expected to be a dignified, and solitary species that often doesn’t align themselves with allowing their visage marred by tattoos. Vlarem is the complete opposite in terms of these beliefs, Vlarem doesn’t wear the extravagant robes of most Falleen, he doesn’t carry himself as though he is noble and has allowed his body to be ‘tainted’ as others of his species would call it. From Vlarem’s face down to his feet is an array of crimson colored tattoos that he adorned himself with during his travels and studies of other civilizations, adapting himself to their cultures and wearing their influence on his skin as a symbol of his allegiances. Another trait most Falleen are known for is their long raven black hair often kept in a ponytail. Vlarem has completely forgone his hair deciding to shave his head which often gives the Falleen a far more intense look in comparison to others of his species. His lavender eyes still resemble that of other Falleen and much like his species his physique is honed to perfection in his mind, not due to stims like others of his species preferred but due to physical training.
Biography
Falleen is a world that is trapped in a cycle that seems to be inescapable to any that allow themselves to be absorbed into the culture, at least for the natives to the planet. Those who inhabit it are known for their greed, their isolationist mentality and their arrogance that could surpass that of even the Sith. The Falleen were always trapped in a self-destructive cycle for power, one family rises to the top for others to plot against them and topple them, often times coming from their closest of allies. Vlarem, or once known by the title of Xan saw this with his very own eyes, the political maneuvering within his own family, people constantly vying for power and not caring who they stepped on in the process. Vlarem was just as guilty for participating in these acts and why wouldn’t he? Vlarem was bred into the Falleen culture, it’s all he knew as a youth and not even he could escape the hunger that lay within, constantly craving more power and prestige.Vlarem, or Xan at the time was the eldest of his siblings so of course he was naturally the one in line to become the family head upon his father’s passing. The only issue with this is that of course his own siblings craved the same title, to be the head of their family and possess the vast amount of wealth that awaited them. Thus, began a battle waged not on a battlefield but in the background, political maneuvering, the acquisition of allies, all behind Xan’s back. Why would he suspect his own siblings of banding together against him? Blood was thicker than water, but it obviously didn’t carry the same weight of the prestige one could claim after becoming the head of the family. It was a few years after his father had passed and Xan had taken his position that the Falleen decided to pay a visit to the core worlds, this was long before the shattering of Corellia, long before even the One Sith or the Sith Empire were expanding across the galaxy. The only issue was that Xan’s vessel had been tampered with by his own family so they could be rid of him.
If it wasn’t for Xan’s own quick thinking and piloting he possibly would’ve died without knowing what had truly happened. Dropping out of hyperspace Xan crashlanded on a planet by the name of Bunduki among a people known as the Followers of Palawa. The planet wasn’t what Xan was used to, he was accustomed to the lush and lavish lifestyle on his homeworld, not to the wilds of Bunduki where Xan was forced to survive for days on his own forced to revert back to the ancient ways. The Falleen were the scion of a predator species and to survive Xan had to call back on these skills becoming akin to a savage. Days turned to months with the Falleen surviving the jungle of the planet while learning from the Followers of Palawa learning their ways of Teras Kasi. Through this Xan began to touch the force, to feel the environment around him, renamed Vlarem the Redeemed, Xan set out on the galaxy traveling from planet to planet learning more about the force and coming into contact with not only it but the environment itself.
Strengths & Weaknesses
- Mental Resistance: Falleen are one of the few species in the galaxy immune to the mentalism aspects of the force.
- Falleen Physiology: Thought to be the scions of a predatory species Falleen are known for being vastly superior to humans in numerous ways such as their extreme strength, incredibly fast reflexes, and powerful muscles allowing them to move fast and jump incredible heights.
- Pheremones/Allelochemicals: Possessing special apocrine glands Falleen are capable of releasing pheromones much like the species Zeltrons to induce a variety of effects ranging from intense fear to admiration. While the Allelochemicals they produce can be used in much the same way.
- White Fieljine: While not well known Falleen are deathly allergic to the poison white Fieljine to where even a small amount could land one in a coma and easily lead to death if not treated.
- Bright lights: Sporting vision better than humans comes with both pros and cons, the cons, in this case, being that incredibly bright lights or flash bangs can blind a Falleen even if they're not looking at it.
- Pride before the fall: This phrase sums up Falleen and their culture incredibly well. Even at times despite becoming a jedi Vlarem finds himself falling into this cycle.
