Aryn watched through the cockpit's viewport as the stars stretched out ahead of them, space twisting and distorting for a few moments before a sudden rush of g's forced him back into his seat the same as Karren as the ship lurched and was launched into hyperspace. Letting out a long sigh as if he'd been holding his breath for the last few minutes, Aryn let his hands slip and sink away from the controls, slumping in his seat somewhat as he rested his head back.

A rush of exhaustion began to overcome Aryn as he was able to finally rest for a while. The adrenaline had been pumping through Aryn almost since they first arrived on Bespin, and the mission had gone for some time, now that it was flooding back out of his body, he couldn't help but let the tiredness hit him. At the very least, they would be in hyperspace for a while, time enough for him to get some rest before they reached Thakwaa. "That went well." Aryn half-chuckled, almost forgetting their hostage, likely still unconscious in the main hold.

She had already forgotten the hostage completely when they jumped. She grinned and leaned back. Karren was thirsty, and not for any kind of water. From a small pouch in her belt she pulled a flask and handed it over to Aryn to have the first sip. As she did she winked.

"Don't tell the other Jedi."

Then she paused....

"Speaking of which. Have you ever been tested for force sensitivity?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.

Chuckling as he glanced over to Karren and saw the flask in her hand, Aryn reached over, taking the flask as he screwed off the cap, he didn't bother to ask what was within before he leaned back, taking a long drink from it as he let the liquid within run down his throat, savouring the sharp burn and strong taste as he let out a satisfied sigh, holding the flask back towards Karren, chuckling again at her words. "Secret's safe with me." He joked with a smirk, relaxing in the seat for a few long moments as Karren paused, enjoying the silence for a moment or two.

Karren's question caught him somewhat off-guard. They never really talked about the force, mostly at Aryn's avoidance of the issue. Any mentions of it had mostly come from passing discussions about Karren's past, but any suggestion of the force being related to him in any way was a new topic, and not one Aryn particularly liked. He scoffed at her question, the roll of his eyes betraying that Aryn had the kind of naivety that came of someone trying to ignore, or perhaps never learn a harsh reality. "Don't need to be, I'm not."

Karren took her own sip and checked a few lights, then leaned back, placing one leg square across the other. She swivelled the chair enough to face him and grinned, feeling the contents of the flask begin to take her edge off.

"Oh but you are."

What was it she sensed from him now? Denial perhaps?

She let it go, and took another sip.

"Anyhow, glossing over that. Once we get to this place, then what?"

Aryn scoffed with an air of almost indignant disbelief as Karren spoke up again. Considering the grin on his face, her figured more than anything that she was pulling his leg, teasing the pilot as an attempt of riling him up during his attempt to relax. "Right, and my name is Luke Skywalker." He shook his head, but still, there was the hint of curiosity in his voice. Aryn had preferred to avoid the topic of the force whenever it came up, and since meeting Karren on Tython, had almost made every effort possible to even be around many force sensitives, she was indeed one of the only ones he could really stand. It hadn't been distaste or aggression or even just prejudice, it was what was faintly in his voice as he spoke - fear.

So of course, Aryn appreciated that Karren didn't linger on the topic, forcing himself to ignore her words. Sighing, he cleared his throat as he shook his head, leaning back in his seat as he shrugged. "I dunno, didn't get that far in my head." He smirked, scratching at his chin. "We'll linger a while if we need to for things to die down, or race straight out of the system if there's not much security, keep jumping 'till we're home."

"Aye. Reckon there won't be much cover, but it may give us a chance to scrub the ship. Never know what you pick up unintentionally. Bugs, Guns, things you didn't know where there."

She took another sip, and then handed it back to Aryn.

"Tell me how you even became a Rebel anyways? I know you're not too fond of us Force types, but y'know there is a decent concentration of em both in GA Space and inside the Rebellion."

She scanned the Nav Computer, noting they had about a few hours till they reverted. She had just risked life and limb with Aryn, so now it was story time. Her stomach growled.
Could use some food too.

Aryn nodded at Karren's suggestion that they might scrub the ship, taking the flask back off her when ti was proferred and taking a long drink of the sharp liquor within. He grit his teeth, letting out a soft, satisfied hiss as he felt the burn run down his throat, holding the flask back out towards her as she asked about his origins with the rebellion, making him chuckle. "I've never been much of a story-teller, and I'm sure my story is really not that interesting... But I suppose it'd pass the time, if you really do want to know it." He paused for a moment as he heard her stomach growl, chuckling as he noted at the same time just how hungry he was as well.

"Maybe we should start with getting something to eat, though." Turning his seat around, Aryn smirked as he moved to stand, heading out of the cockpit and down the hall towards the main hold. He recalled their prisoner, and took a brief period dragging him to a nearby, empty storage compartment and locking him inside, before he moved to teh pantry in the hold, searching for some food.

Karren kept watching the dials and dash, redirecting power as necessary to different parts of the ship. The thing was rickety, but it was versatile a well. Every time something went haywire, she found a quick fix. Though that was a promise to be exhausting. She sighed, a little frustrated, just as Aryn returned.

"What'd you get us? Hopefully not ration bars. Those things are grabage."

She shuddered, recalling just how many missions she'd had to eat the dry gray cubes on.

Aryn spent some time back in the main hold, searching around in the room itself for what was available in the way of food. When he did return to the cockpit, he held two plates and sets of knives and forks, a faint smell of seared meat wafting into the cockpit as he moved over, holding one out towards her as he took a seat again with his own. "Found a couple nerf steaks, they're a little tough, but they're good." He smirked, sticking his fork into a cut-off cube of meat and slipping it between his lips as he took a bite, having to chew a bit to get through the tough exterior of the steak. Still, the taste was smokey, and despite the toughness, the actual meat was a welcome change to the usual protein cubes that he had on ships such as this.

"So, still interested in story time?" He chuckled.

"Nice going."

She grabbed her with one hand, biting into it. It may have been uncivilized but Karren didn't much care. It had been several hours since she ate. Especially something as good as a nerf steak. A the juices escaped she wiped them with the back of her hand and swivelled her chair towards Aryn, casually kicking her feet up on a console.

"Yep. Spill the beans."

Aryn chuckled softly as Karren spoke up again, taking another bite of his steak as he leaned back in his seat. "Well, where to start..." He pondered, taking a number of long moments to silently consider the story he was to tell. He had never actually stopped to consider putting it together before, as no one had actually asked or seemed genuinely interested in his story before. As he thought back he found he remembered more than he had expected, and in a fair bit of detail - but then again, he didn't want to be boring Karren for the next day or so while he rambled on about his life. It did take him some time to piece the bits he wanted together, but before long enough he had the story he wanted to tell, even if it was more or less the short version.

"Well, I already told you I was from Eriadu... My parents were rich folk, owned a lot of land, so I spent a lot of my childhood with good education, good food, plenty of land on which to hunt, run, drive and fly..." He paused for a moment, thoughts lingering on something for a moment, before he shook away the thought and continued. "When I turned about eighteen I decided I wanted to get off-world, stowed away on a hauler's ship - though the man was less than pleased when he found me, ditched me on Raxus Prime, a junk-world. But, it was there I found my X-Wing and BB-3, fixed 'em up over a few days and got off-world." He scratched at his chin briefly, and took a few more bites of his rapidly-disappearing steak. "Spent the next few years in Alliance space, taking odd jobs as an escort pilot for corporate security, or flying freight across the galaxy. Eventually, I got contracted on this pretty suss job, had to fly myself into Imperial space, pick up a freighter and fly it back to Alliance space as quickly as possible, no questions asked, no checking cargo, nothin'." He shrugged and paused, as if for effect, before he went on. "Turns out, I got hired as a test from the Rebellion, managed to get back to Alliance space without much drama, and got contacted by Arisa after that to join up with the Alliance - rest is history, I suppose."
