DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Specialized Ammo: Individual bullets can be loaded into the clip to provide various effects ranging from nonlethal Mercy bullets, to explosive kinetic rounds, to incendiary rounds. The clip itself can also be filled to fire progressively more dangerous bullets.
  • Firing Rate Adjustment Switch: The firing rate can be switched between a three round burst and single shots.
  • Attachable Silencer: A silencer can be attached to reduce noise and muzzle flash to drastically lower levels, making the weapon suitable for stealth.

Strengths:
  • Silencer: The fact that the weapon can be silenced is very useful, and practical.
  • Sleek Design: The smooth, unassuming design of this particular slugthrower might stand out in, say, the seedy underground, but in most other places it would be a relatively normal weapon, making it less identifiable.
  • Jedi/Sith: The physical bullets cannot be redirected by lightsabers, only blocked.
  • Slightly Larger Clip: The standard clip size for a semi-automatic magazine weapon would rest around 15 shots. The extended clip size lets the weapon last longer between reloads, making the weapon reliable in a firefight.
  • Clips: Since the weapon uses magazines, which is to say clips, each reload can take only a few seconds with proper practice. Further, each clip can be either specialized with special bullets, or contain mixtures of shots.
Weaknesses :
  • Burst Fire: While useful in some situations, burst fire rapidly uses up the clip of bullets.
  • Recoil and Spread: Particularly in burst fire mode, the recoil and bullet spread can be rather surprisingly chaotic.
  • Clips: The weapon only holds so many shots at once. Though stealth is the primary concern, if a firefight does break out, enemies equipped with even blaster pistols can outlast the Series 9 in terms of longevity of suppressing fire.
  • Armor: Anything more than light armor will severely limit the damage the Series 9 can inflict, and even light armor can pose a problem should it be constructed with bullet resistant materials.

DESCRIPTION:

As Vigil can be expected to be partaking in violent situations, he deemed it necessary for personal protection to be custom designed for his safety and personal use. In a somewhat amusing twist, he opted to design two slugthrowers, the style of weapons that killed his organic designer who his circuitry is based on. For practical use, one slugthrower was designed with infiltration in mind, as well as sustained firefights.

The Vigil Series 9 is focused on being usable for extended periods of time in a variety of situations. A detachable silencer is stored with the weapon in the holster designed into his leg, for times when stealth is of priority. When slightly more firepower is necessary, a three-shot burst mode can be initiated at the cost of extended bullet usage and kickback. The weapon was additionally given a slightly extended clip, to be made more viable in the event a firefight were to occur. The distinct disadvantage of severely limited bullets per clip can become a problem the longer into a fight time wears on, however, and Vigil is more likely to run out of bullets than the enemy's blasters.

Even so, the Series 9 is more than capable of downing most humanoid creatures with one to two well placed shots, and when burst fire mode is engaged there is little hope for unarmored targets. The weapon does suffer against armored opponents, however, as the bullets obey the laws of physics and even aimed perfectly at the weak joints or vulnerable points can and often will end up ricocheting off the armor.

As a stealth weapon, however, it is hard to find a more fitting choice.
