Feral Vigho-Anzati

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Vigho-Anzati
  • Designation: Non-feral - Sentient and feral - Semi-sentient
  • Homeworld: Vigho (being submitted to Codex)
  • Language: Basic
  • Average Lifespan: 900+ years, though due to attacks from feral Vigho-Anzati most live only a couple hundred years or so. The period a Vigho-Anzat is a child is 1-13 years old, teen years 14-18 during their 17th birth year they could become a feral Vigho-Anzati and are sent to live in solitude for that year. 19-99 young adult, 100-200 years adult, 201+ Old. Before the risk of being killed by Vigho-Anzati is was recorded that a Vigho-Anzati could live up to 800 years or more before being called Old.
  • Estimated Population: Vigho-Anzati are rare, with around 34,000 on Vigho and feral Vigho-Anzati more at 150,000 or more.
  • Description: At first glance a Vigho-Anzat looks fairly human in nature, bar the strange colour pigmentation there is little that one can tell between them and a human. However, when you take a closer look you notice that their nails are long and black claws, as tough as bone they can be used to attack animals and people. Their proboscises are long, thin tubes that retract from their cheeks, these are used to suck the 'soup' as Anzati call it or 'source' as the Vigho-Anzati call it. Due to their isolation on their planet they don't necessarily kill when absorbing 'source' otherwise they would have wiped out the planet of life.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: Mixture of oxygen, nitrogen and a slight carbon monoxide.
  • Average height of adults: 1.73m - 2.01m
  • Skin color: Gradients of yellow with flecks of green.
  • Hair color: Black and dark red.
  • Distinctions: Their proboscises are long, thin tube like skin that works as a vacuum-like mechanism to suck out 'source' from Vigho-Anzati. This coupled with bulbous like noses are the only features that distinction them from humans. Their skin is of a yellow gradient with green flecks acting as freckles.
  • Races: The different race of Vigho-Anzati would be the feral branch, this occurs when a Vigho-Anzati and it is undetectable from what the Vigho-Anzati can gather. There is no identifying markers that one will change until it is too late. By that time they are irreversibly transformed into a feral beast of a Vigho-Anzati. This feral beast has longer claws on each finger, there proboscises no longer retract and walk on all fours. Their eyes turn red and they can only see during the night or in dark but their hearing is increased to adapt to it. They lose most intelligence, using very little in speech bar growling and howling. There is no written language and they are highly aggressive and territorial. It is said that the Goddess, Eitxat attempted to create a stronger Vigho-Anzati but due to a lack of knowledge in creating life, made a monster that ended up killing the people she wanted to grow stronger.
Vigho-Anzati
  • Strengths:
  • Long lifespan
  • Bone-like claws
  • No biorhythm
  • Retractable proboscises
  • Force Users
  • Skilled Assassins

  • Weaknesses:
  • Slower and not as strong in cold weather

  • Skin makes them stand out in climates not rain forest/woods based.
  • Telepathy is limited through lack of use
  • Paranoia is rife with fear of becoming feral
  • No knowledge of the larger galaxy and alien races.
Feral Vigho-Anzati

  • Strengths: Feral Vigho-Anzati have more or less the same advantages as a normal Vigho-Anzati, however they are faster using all four limbs. Their claws are longer and much sharper than a normal Vigho-Anzati, their senses are heightened as well being able to hunt their prey from several miles away.
  • Weaknesses: Their sight is greatly diminished in the sunlight meaning that they prefer to hunt in the evening. Their intelligence is also lower than normal Vigho-Anzati, focused on hunting, killing and surviving. This means no feral Vigho-Anzat can write or read. Their proboscises are always out so they cannot blend with humans like Anzati and Vigho-Anzati can.

CULTURE
  • Diet: Food is standard types, anything poisonous to humans would be to an Vigho-Anzat, however they do require 'source' to sustain them and keep their strength up.
  • Communication: Speaking and written forms of communication work
  • Technology level: Bronze age, with slight variations and some technology from their old Empire days.
  • Religion/Beliefs: They believe that there was three Gods and seven Goddesses. The three Gods are; Vigho, creator of worlds Gha'sig, tamer of beasts and Kjorix, ruler of the stars. The Goddess are; Oaoooj, carer of Vigho-Anzati, Kasopia, wife of Vigho and creator of life, Mxmjau, guide to the Halls of Eternal, Kopiu, daughter of Kasopia and Vigho and creator of 'source', Eitzat, Goddess of War, Nazxati, sister of Eitzat and Goddess of Assassination, Llylloz, wife of Kjorix and Goddess of Darkness, Haroxica, Goddess of Order and Control, and Pl'o'ioa, Goddess of Birth and Mothers. Every Goddess is adored more than the Gods and there are several prayers to Kasopia and Llylloz especially to offer thanks and protection.
  • General behavior: When a Vigho-Anzat is born they are looked after by their grandparents, with parents made to hunt feral Vigho-Anzati and protect the village. They are cared for and given a few years to play and have fun before being trained in the ways of the Vigho-Anzati. This training includes; fighting, using their naturally high reflexes, tree climbing, hunting and knowing the history and religion of the Vigho-Anzati. They are also told of the horrors that lie outside the village and the mistrust that each village has of one another due to betrayals and lies among them. When they reach coming of age they are then sent away to be tested by the planet and to see if they will change into feral beasts. Once they return a year later, they are given a celebration party and for two weeks they eat and drink as much as they like, no consequences. After that period they are then sent to work and provide for the village, often this will include a journey to Kicagri Camp, and see what other villages have to offer. They tend to find mates through the same process as humans would and consummate the relationship in a similar manner. They travel sololy on foot around the world, taking 'source' from wildlife they find and killing feral Vigho-Anzati whenever they can.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Vigho was discovered by the Anzati during their Empire expansion into the unknown regions. The Empire first started expanding around 29,000 BBY, using a rudimentary version of their own hyperspace drive core, which ended up being more unstable than Rakatans. They discovered Vigho around 28,438 BBY, settling on the planet they found that the wildlife there had high amounts of 'soup' for non-sentient lifeforms. This was good news for the Anzati who were dependent on their meals of 'soup' to keep up their strength. Once they started colonising the planet they began building it into a busy planet and an important one for the Empire. With numerous Anzati wishing to visit the planet, it grew into a so-called capital planet of the Unknown Regions in the Anzati Empire. With millions of Anzati now living on the planet and the planet had a large city, Jakotya, with temples dedicated to the Anzati ways in using the Force and honing their assassin skills.

Several thousands of years later, with Anzati now calling Vigho their home, there began to be a noticeable difference between Anzati who visited the planet and those who were born on it. The later named, Vigho-Anzati, were suspected to have changed due to the difference in the 'soup' they were drinking from the wildlife on the planet, compared to normal Anzati prey. However, this change didn't cause any hostilities among the Anzati as a whole, the Empire remaining strong. The Vigho-Anzati population had now reached the hundreds of millions and they were spread across the entire planet, there was very few areas which were not settled by them. However this all changed the day the Empire fell.

Due to the Anzati Hyperspace drive cords unknown instability, when the ships started blowing up none of the Anzati could initially figure out why. Believing they were under attack they were sending more ships out to combat this unknown threat, however they ended up losing more lives and ships. This caused Anzati unable to travel to the stretches of their Empire, abandoning those on Vigho on their own. The Vigho-Anzati were initially surprised by this sudden leave and wanted to try building ships to travel out and locate the home planet. However, the planet didn't have the resources to construct a ship. This meant they had to survive on their own.

Six or seven hundred years later came the first signs of trouble. A Vigho-Anzat had come of age and suddenly went through a violent transformation, becoming a feral Vigho-Anzat. This wild beast torn up many of its own family and killed several other Vigho-Anzati before being killed. However, this was just the beginning. Soon there were thousands of Vigho-Anzati transforming into the feral beasts after coming of age and slaughter hundreds upon thousands of Vigho-Anzati. This began the fall of the species. They went from hundreds, even thousands of millions to ten thousand or so in a matter of a few decades. The war with the feral beasts was brutal on the Vigho-Anzati side, with the feral versions being faster and stronger than them. By the end they were outside Jakotya, preparing for a final stand when they noticed that the feral Vigho-Anzati ignored them and rushed into the city.

It was never understood why the beasts left the remaining Vigho-Anzati alone but from there the new capital was built, Kicagri Camp, which housed the remaining Vigho-Anzati. All that remained of the Anzati Empire was lost to the planet's recovering forest and plant life which grew over the ruins. The wildlife also began to rise in number and soon it was as if the Anzati had never controlled the planet. Only ruins and the Vigho-Anzati remained of their legacy. The Vigho-Anzati now live in a more bronze age technological society, there are throwbacks to their advanced years but due to limited resources and decrease in numbers things regressed quickly. Because the feral form only comes to a Vigho-Anzat during the coming of age, it is tradition to send the Vigho-Anzat out of the village for them to survive for a year on their own. If they return they will be welcomed with open arms. If not, they are determined to be dead or a feral beast, lost to the planet.

Mistrust came from new villages as the Vigho-Anzati created more villages after the ruler of one village sent their people to destroy a nearby village and sack it. They did this because they claimed that the village sent a coming of age Vigho-Anzat to them, who became feral and nearly destroyed half the village. After this, there was a rise in mistrust and the only village that was determined to not shed blood and be involved was Kicagri Camp, to which all agree that it was too important to not remain in touch with the main village due to its so called importance with the Gods and Goddesses.

You need to change this to Metric.

Does these strengths and weaknesses apply to both feral and non-feral Vigho-Anzati? I need clarification.

EDIT:

Their skin is of a yellow gradient with green flecks acting as freckles. Their skin also allows them to draw energy from the sun's rays as well as act as a camouflage.

These are quite powerful abilities and they are not listed in the strengths list.

It would be prudent to also include a counter-weakness to this to balance it out.

I have gone over the new weaknesses and strengths and found the following:

Strengths:
- Hard to detect
- Bone claws (Good weapons)
- Great Reflexes
- Great Strength
- Photosynthesis
- Natural camoflauge
- [Feral] All above
- [Feral] Longer claws
- [Feral] Faster

Weaknesses:

- Sensitive to temperatures (non-lethal)
- They must feed on others
- Abilities powered by feeding
- They must eat a lot to reach their greatest potential
- [Feral] All above
- [Feral] Bad Vision
- [Feral] Cannot read or write
- [Feral] Can't blend in with others

The Anzati in themselves are pretty hardcore as it is and I am not sure about further developing a new breed of them unless the new ones are watered down a bit from the original. I'd like to see something to balance all the strengths out as well, or see a few of the listed strengths stricken. Right now they are hard to see, they hit hard and fast, find energy from the sun and have claws that are good weapons. But they can only use these as long as they are warm and fed on others. It's not a balance that I see as viable.

In general it's a good idea to think "Would I want someone to use this against me?" as a good way of ensuring that you are creating something that is well-balanced.

So please, rethink your strengths and weaknesses and consider downplaying the Anzat heritage a bit in order to further balance what you are adding to an already powerful species. As an example to get you started, perhaps the Vigho-Anzati aren't as able with telepathy as 'regular' Anzati are? I'd say it might be a good idea to spin some other concepts as well a few times and see what sticks.
