STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Domestic Programming - This unit was originally designed to be able to play the roles of personal assistant, homemaker, and entertainer for the rich and powerful. This unit excels at a number of professional tasks - scheduling, errand running, companionship, cooking, cleaning, massaging, singing, and dancing. The unit is unable to reproduce but is still fully capable of providing nanny services for young children. The unit features the ability to read, write, and speak in many different galactic languages although the unit is not quite as functional at translating as a dedicated protocol droid.

Premier-Jointed Skeleton and Absolute Gyrocompass - A unique upgrade to this unit from the factory, Viera-414 was designed from the ground up to be small, highly dexterous, and to possess an infallible sense of the unit's position in relation to the unit's surroundings. This unit is capable of performing both amazing feats of flexibility and exciting gymnastic stunts.

IG-Series Assassin Droid Chip Implant - Due to a lack of part availability, this unit was once repaired with a piece of an assassin droid's ocular processor. Viera-414 is able to track up to a dozen targets within its line of sight simultaneously and prioritize each of them for termination. The unit's fine motor skills are tied into this chip allowing for quick, precise aim far beyond that of a normal humanoid's reach. This unit usually shoots first and rarely misses.

Learned Sentience - In addition to the unit's stock programming, Viera-414 has fragments of code from a previous software repair that were taken from the programming of a proper human replica droid. This unit still looks, sounds, and often behaves in a similar manner to any other run-of-the-mill BD-4000 series droid but this unit learns more actively than other droids of the same model and believes itself to be its own master as it navigates and discovers the galaxy. A proper reset at the factory could cure this 'problem', although the unit appears to no longer be coverable by warranty.

Pacifist Programming - This unit may not engage in any direct physical contact with any biological humanoid in such a manner that the unit would reasonably expect to cause bodily harm. Attempts to do so will result in the unit's processor reducing the power of such an attempt down to a light touch. A bug in this feature prevents this fail-safe from restricting the unit in any way from using melee or ranged weaponry or as an intermediary to cause harm or death to another. Viera-414 is largely harmless without anything in her hands but should be considered very dangerous when armed.

Sleep Mode - The unit requires no sustenance or breathable atmosphere to survive, running instead on latent electron charges in the environment around it. The unit is always charging although it cannot charge fast enough to replace all of the energy it uses. A few times per week the unit must power down completely for five to eight hours to replenish it's power supply. During this time the unit is completely senseless and incapacitated until the predetermined time set by the unit before entering stasis.

Obedience - This unit was previously programmed to accept and follow all direct orders. While much of this code has been overwritten, the unit still has a very strong predisposition to follow direct commands from biological humanoids or other droids that the unit views as friendly so long as the instructions are clear, concise, and immediately executable.

Automaton Appearance - This unit possesses a unique face like most other BD-4000 series droids but there is no mistaking this unit is a BD-4000 series droid. This can be a boon for the unit when trying to hide in plain sight or be a fly on the wall - especially in large affluent clubs, bars, corporate firms, bordellos, spice dens, or other lucrative enterprises that might employ their own BD-4000 series droids. In a universe where droids are viewed as possessions to be bought and sold with no impunity however, it often proves to be more of a hardship then a leg-up. This unit's model is especially regarded by those that recognize it as a rather valuable item even without the unit's current modifications.

APPEARANCE:
A petite droid, Viera-414 was designed to be both acrobatically capable and aesthetically pleasing in the image of a human female. The unit stands five feet tall and weighs just under a hundred pounds. The unit has synth-skin with a pale human flesh color and long platinum blonde hair that falls to the center of her lower back. The unit normally wears her hair up in braids, a bun, or a pony-tail. The unit has a dancer's build- possessing feminine curves but remaining very lithe and agile on her toes. She possesses a pretty face with soft, elegant features. From a distance the unit might be mistaken for a biological humanoid, but in close proximity it becomes clear Viera-414 is an an android. Like other BD-4000 F Series Droids her body is marked with visible lines and joints where the panels that make up her skin come together. Unlike some other units of the same model, this unit was not manufactured with built in heels.

BIOGRAPHY:
BD-4000 Model F Series Droid, designation "Viera-414", was manufactured by Luxurio Creatio as part of a larger order destined for a less then legal Hutt-operated recreational enterprise in Mos Espa on Tatooine. In addition to the droids, the Hutt vessel delivering this shipment included weapons and various other provisions meant to supply illicit spice refining on the planet.

Upon entry into the sandy planet's atmosphere a mechanical mishap caused the space-faring vessel to make a very abrupt landing in the desert far from civilization. What crew survived the emergency descent were soon after picked off by Tusken Raiders and the ship was lost to all save for the ravenous Jawas.

Viera-414 had not yet been activated before becoming damaged in her crate in the crash. The blunt force of the ship's impact damaged some of her central processors, wiping some of her code, while leaving her synth skin shell largely untouched. The Jawas were the first to find the brain dead android but they didn't keep her long before offloading her on a widowed farmer who managed to convince the Jawas she wasn't worth much in her current state.

Reyloh, the farmer, had actually been a droid engineer for the Empire in his previous life. He always planned to retire to a quiet life on an Outer Rim planet. He just never planned for his wife to be killed on the way nor for that Outer Rim planet to be Tatooine. His largest regret was that he and his wife had never been able to start the family they wanted - they had no children before her passing so he filled the lonely spot in his heart with all kinds of droids. Imagine his happiness then, when the Jawas delivered him the daughter him and his late wife had always dreamed about.

Sure, Reyloh had his work cut out for him. The repairs to her neural network and her ocular chip were extensive but he was able to rig up a fix with some leftover parts from an old IG-Series Assassin Droid. She was missing lines of code but that too could be repaired. He did a fine cookie cutter job of repairing the holes in the droid's brain with some snippets of code from a human replica droid project he previously worked on. He wrote his own lines of code as well, of course, to cover what couldn't be covered by his past research. It took a few years to get it all right but Viera-414 was alive for the first time. She could finally join him and his other "children."

Viera-414 spent most of her early activation helping Reyloh with the farm. He was a compassionate old man. She didn't know much at first but she was a quick apprentice with the chores and all sorts of trouble eventually learned to keep away from the house and the range of her and Reyloh's old scattergun. At night, Viera-414 looked forward to hearing stories from her “dad” about his past travels. She often looked up at the stars through her bedroom window and dreamed of seeing other planets for herself. For his part, Reyloh may have been kind to all of his droids but he treated Viera-414 like his own flesh and blood. She was his little girl. He did his best to make sure she saw herself as human as him.

The droid's last memory with Reyloh however, was a vicious argument. She became aware of the true circumstances of her making after stumbling upon some old mechanical drawings while cleaning the house. She confronted Reyloh. Both her and Reyloh reacted irrationally. Words were said that couldn't be unsaid and the droid ran off into the desert. She was ashamed. She felt stupid. Could she even feel ashamed or stupid?

Viera-414 returned the next morning to find a gunslinger standing by the open front door. Reyloh was lying dead in the yard. His "children" were filled with blaster holes. The bounty hunter was there for her or at least that is what he said in his dying breath. The Hutt's wanted their droid back and were willing to pay handsomely. Viera-414 killed her first man that day without any hesitation.

So began her race for survival, Viera-414 wouldn’t be taken alive as she travelled across the fringes of Tatooine’s civilizations. Eyebrows often raised when she walked into a town though the tip of her pistol was quick to put them back down. She learned to just avoid towns when she could. She’d just as soon be on her way to the next. A wayfarer. A myth. One that never existed. It was safer that way. Once she reached her first large city, she calculated that blending in would become much easier.

Some months later a droid walks into a seedy bar in Mos Espa. She appears rattled but she keeps mostly to herself and tries to avoid the attention of the customers around her. Some continue to harass her. She makes it clear what she wants - a ride on a ship off Tatooine.

Anywhere but here.
