VICTRA RINNEL

- BACKGROUND
-
You don't survive Morlana One by being soft. You survive it by getting harder than the walls that cage you, smarter than the cameras that watch you, and faster than the people trying to use you. For Victra Rinnel, life started in the concrete lungs of Denton District, a rust-laced industrial zone where the sun was more rumor than reality. She was the middle child - bookended by a brother lost to a smuggling ring and a sister too meek to leave their cramped, leaking tower unit.
Her childhood was filled with half-powered generators, cold noodles, and the quiet rumble of off-world freighters she used to track across the polluted sky. Every night she'd sketch them, dreaming up ship classes and battle names like bedtime stories. She didn't dream of being a princess. She dreamed of commanding a fleet.
She started flying early, age 14, working unofficial hours in hangars and training sims run by bored techs with too much time and too many debts. A forged ID, some counterfeit certifications, and she was flying corporate skiffs by 16. By 18, she was running private security for offworld investors and smug politicians, ferrying them between shady trade deals and staring out at worlds she'd never get to live on.
What hardened her wasn't the danger. It was the banality. Watching these bloated elites drone on about "growth metrics" while ignoring starving colonies. Watching corporate "alliances" exploit desperate planets like Morlana, pretending they were bringing "order" while pocketing everything of value. She started collecting faces - names of those she flew that she swore would one day answer to someone real.
So when she saw that Confederacy recruitment ad flickering across the ferroglass in a sleazy diner, it felt less like a call and more like an ultimatum. "Serve. Command. Reclaim order." She didn't even finish her meal. She left everything behind and booked the next outbound to Rothana.
At the Academy, her instructors started calling her "The Wraith." She moved like a ghost - silent, efficient, tireless - but with an edge sharp enough to gut any obstacle in her path. Always where she needed to be, rarely where you expected. The name stuck, probably because no one wanted to test if it was just a nickname.
Now, with her first real command, she's determined to become more than just a captain - she's building a legend. One that the Outer Rim will whisper about long after the lights go out.
- PERSONALITY
-
Victra is a tactician with a mouth. She doesn't suffer fools, and if she's in the room, she's probably the one in charge - or at least thinks she should be. Her personality screams "confidence," but she balances her commanding presence with a dry, biting wit that often confuses admirers and terrifies subordinates.
She's got that "coffee in one hand, death glare in the other" vibe. Don't expect her to smile unless it's at someone else's expense or the complete, explosive collapse of a rival fleet formation.Goals & Objectives
- Short-Term: Whip her green crew into a top-tier tactical strike vessel. Establish her name among the Capital Fleeters as a serious rising power.
- Mid-Term: Win a major engagement and use it to secure a fleet command of her own.
- Long-Term: See the Confederacy replace the bloated galactic powers entirely. A galaxy where order doesn't mean oppression - and maybe someone like her can carve out something that lasts.
- SKILLS
-
- Capital Ship Command: Sharp, decisive, and obsessed with tactical superiority. She treats her ship like a chessboard and her enemies like pawns - useful, disposable, and begging to be outmaneuvered.
- Piloting & Navigation: Started in atmospheric piloting for corporate shuttles. Now applies that reckless confidence to multi-ton dreadnoughts. Fun.
- Security & Threat Assessment: Her corporate background gave her eyes that constantly scan for betrayal. She's very hard to surprise.
- Persuasive Command: Inspires loyalty through sheer presence, not sentiment.
- STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
-
STRENGTHS
- Decisive & Strategic: Does not hesitate. Ever. Probably doesn't even know how to spell "doubt."
- Leadership Magnetism: Attracts ambitious subordinates and competent allies. Others want to follow her - not because she's warm, but because she's right.
- Unshakable Under Pressure: Cool-headed in crisis. If the ship's going down, Victra's probably at the helm, smirking.
WEAKNESSES
- Impatient with Mediocrity: Has little tolerance for incompetence or excuses. If you mess up, expect to be metaphorically spaced.
- Workaholic Control Freak: Doesn't delegate easily. Micromanages in silence by making everyone feel her looming disapproval.
- Emotionally Walled Off: Not a hugger. Not a confider. Feelings are for after-battle drinking games, and even then, she loses on purpose to avoid talking.
