Intent: A luxury yacht for the Firemane company and the Kerrigan-Alcori family in particular. This ship serves both as a luxury getaway but also as a diplomatic tool on Tygara. Negotiations with the less developed natives are greatly helped by luxury and modern technology.
On a practical level the ship has some moderate defences, but is not a warship by any means. It has been posted in this forum after discussion with Raziel about the appropriate location and template to use.

Description:
Tygara is a world with a great deal of water. Added to that, it is a world where three less advanced native cultures view the newly arrived Eldorai and humans with mixed emotions. With this in mind, Firemane commissioned a luxury yacht which would serve the directors as a private getaway, but also as a negotiation tool.
Visitors of all types can be taken aboard the Viceroy and be charmed by its luxury designs. The ship is also a comfortable and convenient way to travel across Tygara’s oceans.

As Tygara is not entirely safe from danger, especially in the Xioquo infested waters of the north, the ship has some armaments and defences to keep its passengers safe. Firstly, a single concealed anti-air missile launcher is emplaced near the top, controlled by the bridge. This has a pair of reloads. This is hardly a fantastic defence, but the ship is not expected to come under heavy attack from the air.
Next, at fore and aft are some light laser cannons, such as those found on AT-STs. These offer enough deterrent and bite to keep most enemies back unless they have brought larger and more powerful warships.
Finally, the ship is protected by a light energy shield, such as those placed on vehicles or individual structures. It is strong enough to withstand attacks from civilian grade weapons, but will rapidly collapse if attacked by turbolasers. It also only protects above the waterline, leaving submarine attacks a vulnerability.

The Viceroy has a crew of 20 when fully manned, and 12 just to properly crew it. This includes a captain, first officer, sensor and communications specialists, engineers and three security officers. The optional crew are for passenger comfort and include a chef, wait staff and a doctor.
All the crew are vetted personally by Siobhan and Tegaea to ensure they are discrete and loyal. Many of them are former active service men and women wounded or retired from the Protectorate or Firemane.
Inflatable life rafts for all crew and passengers are stored on board. A larger tender is stored below decks and is launched from the back of the ship for the purposes of regular disembarking.

The ship, using a light reactor, is capable of impressive bursts of speed when required. This is more than enough to evade any native craft, as well as give any modern ships a good chase. Its cruising speed is quite fast for a ship of its size and type, and the increased width allows for a more stable ride even in rough weather.

The Viceroy has the best communications and sensor equipment which could be fitted on board. This allows it communications not only all across the planet, but an uplink with the orbiting Tirathana Skyport for holonet communications.

The Viceroy’s on board accommodations are the height of luxury. There are four double berths including a ‘Royal Suite’ Siobhan and Tegaea naturally occupy. There are also four other single berths. In a pinch more guests can be accommodated by converting other rooms such as the study into a bedroom.
The ship also features an indoor/outdoor dining area, small pool, entertainment area and bar as well as a Shrine to Ardarvia.

Overall the Viceroy is a luxury craft fit for the owners of a Tier 5 business in a way which is safe, opulent and practical. It is not a warship, but can defend itself against those things it cannot outrun.
