Description: This 2,000 meter monstrosity is intended to be a feared weapon of destruction but in reality its truly fearsome prowess is its advanced systems and its TDT systems. the Tactical Data Transmitter is in reality a hyper-advanced computer system that predict enemy patterns, recognizes weaknesses in formations, and learns tactics and studies enemy starships throughout the course of the battle. This data allows The Primeval Fleet to quickly learn from their enemies technologies and exploit weaknesses from experience.

This makes the Verge-class not only very powerful destroyer but also a fearsome command ship to which fleet commanders can comfortably lead engagements and execute stratagem. Heavily armed, durable, and well protected from enemy fire; the Verge-class can not only contend with virtually any starship in existence but is complimented with four squadrons making it a versatile warship all together.

No great strengths come without weaknesses, however. Due to its sheer size, firepower, and the amount of advanced systems; the starship's reactors and engines make it extremely slow to turn. Even moving in a straight direction keeps it at a slow pace and without diversity in the form of long-ranged weaponry, the Verge-class must maintain a considerably average proximity to its targets in order to combat effectively. Another cost is its absolute absence of defensive non-capital weapons such as point defense or auto turrets. It may boast well against heavy cruisers, carriers, and even destroyers, but faster moving ships such as light frigates, corvettes, and bombers will find themselves able to outmaneuver the behemoth.

The Verge-class is likely to see a permanent place amongst The Primeval for decades -- if not centuries -- to come and finally proves once and for all that these Zealots don't disregard the pursuit of science; if it means victory.

Development Thread: We need to do at least 2. One to develop the TDT system, and another to construct the ship for its size and advanced systems.
Intent: To create a series of sem-unique de facto commandships for our fleet commanders to lead battles from. Note: This is still classified as a destroyer.
Who Can Use This: The Primeval fleet commanders, must ask for approval from a faction admin to use.

I could be wrong but I think you need to do another dev thread for the Proton Beam cannon. This ship strikes me as very similar to the One Sith Immortal class Dreadnaught, I'm not sure about the weapon count, but if its high enough I believe it would considered a Flagship, similar to the One Sith's Immortal class as I mentioned a moment ago. Like I said, could be wrong because I'm not very much of a starship person in terms of the factory, but I am almost certain what I say is true from my observation of the Immortal.

The weapon count remains similar to that of a Destroyer. As far as I'm aware the Immortals aren't actually considered a Flagship because there's no flagship thread. Although, it may be considered a commandship per the old rules. Not sure when it was made; but flagships are unique.

As you said, you may be right; we might need three dev threads instead of just 2.

But anyway the new loadout allows destroyers -- on average -- to have around 700 guns in the calculations, but I've seen them go higher if there's enough dev thread. I actually got the idea from a discussion we had Skype about 'Space Napoleon' and thought it'd be great to have the Napoleon of ships.
