DARTH VERADUN

  • 2756bcae1f550635d8635ad5c9eb0101.jpg
The young boy who would later call himself Veradun, was born on a slave colony in the Outer Rim. The planet was mountainous and a mining world, providing minerals to their hostage-takers in exchange for food and other supplies. Working in mine drifts was nothing uncommon for children, for they could get into much smaller sized tunnels and located new veines of ore. So the little boy worked, day by day, sometimes for twenty hours to get a few pieces of ore which could be exchange for a piece of bread or a bowl of mush.

Slowly the young boy began to grow, a bit faster than his fellows and it took some time for him as well to realise that there is a better way of earning what is needed to survive: violence. He could force other children to work for him, as he was stronger. They would pay a tribute or end up with a broken bone which was close to be a death sentence. And this worked for some time, until a band of elder boys, teenagers, caught the scent of this and confronted the boy. Unbeknowst to him, he was a Force sensitive and in the fight that followed, his strength and speed grew beyond what humans can achieve, killing two of the elder while the rest escaped. The tale quickly spread, but there was little authority around and he would not be trialed or whatever for it. In the colony the right of the stronger ruled.

The years passed and his influence grew, by now having dozens of children working for him, even elders who begged for protection in exchange for food and other luxuries. It must have been around his fourteenth or fifteenth birthday when the tall grown boy was approached by those who controlled the mine. It was controlled by one of the three camps in the valley, called the Old Camp, which was ruled by Ore Barons who were presiding the exchange with the outside galaxy and living like Kings in their fortress. The Guard was serving them, a unit of men, cruel and reckless, but dedicated to uphold order in their domain and they were interested in the boy. And so they took him out of the mine, the boy seeing the sun for the first time for a longer period of time and seeing green of forests, blue lakes and rivers and a variety of animals. He was fascinated, but the first thought which formed in his head was: I want to rule this.

The Guard knew about Force sensivity, but ignored it as they had no interest to create beings stronger than themselves. But they still trained the boy for a couple of months, giving him weapons and armour and actual training with those. And it just took a few weeks until there was nobody left he could not defeat. This made the Ore Barons nervous and they decided to kill the boy, nothing shall ever threaten their position of power and wealth, ever.

On a raid mission against one of the other camps, the other Guards turned on the boy, he slew several of them, but was wounded by two bolts who pierced his armour and were stuck in his shoulder. They turned to run, but he crushed them with the Force, their armour cracking open like eggshells with the interior being spread all over the nearby grass and flowers.

He was wounded, but his hate and anger about the betrayal actually healed his wounds and he became much more aware of his supernatural powers. Soon he was found by a patrol of the camp they were intending to raid, called the New Camp. Strong opposition to the Ore Barons and their Guards. They took him in and brought them to their leader, a man called Sarturas. He saw the strong connection to the Force the boy had and decided to train him, he was a former Sith who got caught in a war and was made a slave here on this world with little chance to escape, but that was decades ago. The teachings centered around the Sith code and what the Force is as well as its usage. And the boy learned fast.

Years passed and the boy turned into a man, but the life in a mine started to demand a price, the fine dust breathed day by day had damaged the lungs and he had difficulties to breath, except when he was filled with emotions like anger, hate or fear, then his body was regenerating itself. With the age of twenty, the man was one of the tallest and strongest the slave colony had ever seen, a flawed diamond in regards to the Force, but more deadly than anyone around.

The teachings of Sarturas were carrying fruit though, but maybe different than the master expected. The man saw the stagnation which all the camps were upholding and saw the weakness. He slayed Sarturas for everyone visible and threw his body down a cliff, proclaiming that they would take control of the entire valley, overthrow the Ore Barons and rule over the trade with their hostage-takers.

The campaign was short and bloody and the young man would most likely not have needed the support of the New Camp to finish the Old Camp, but they took an example in his leadership. Terrified by it though, he was fearsome and reckless warrior and nobody who he fought against survived.

It was now that the slavers above became worried and sent watchmen down to restore the old order, as they saw the new situation as a problem for their steady profits. But they did not expect their blaster and grenade armed soldiers to be overrun by a bunch of savages and the returning shuttle did not bring the good news, but the man who would later adopt the name Veradun. He was a Nameless Hero for the colony, even though he did not gave it a second thought after he could leave what he just conquered.

The Galaxy was now his to claim . . .

    {END OF CHAPTER I - THE PRISONER}
  • Darth-Malgus-Holo.jpg
Veradun is a tall man, towering at more than seven feet in height and has a muscular stature, forged in his life as a mineworker and warrior. In his teenage years, when his body started to grow as well as his Dark side attunement and his corrosion of the lungs, he slowly started to lose all of his body hair, which gave him an intimidating look.

Added to that was his pale skin, no sun in the universe could tan him, the working in a mine and the total seduction by the Dark side have turned him and will keep him a pale man. His features are well defined, with strong cheek and jaw bones, but a hollow cheek itself, highlighting the structure of his face and if he would not be so bulky, his head would look like a skull.

Since his escape from the colony and meeting proper industry and technology, he is wearing a respirator, which takes most of the pain he suffers from breathing. Since then his Dark side corruption also increased exponentially, turning the eyes into glowing coals with yellow irises and detoriating his skin with visible veins as well as aging it far beyond his actual age.

  • Malgus-2.jpg

Primordial Violence - Lord Veradun is devoted to violence, to war and to conflict. A force of nature which unleashes itself onto the Galaxy. He is a passionate fighter, loves to kill but also honours those who stood valiantly in his way. His talent with the lightsaber is extreme, though the actual technique has room for improvements while his experience is ever expanding.

Son of Belial - He was taught by his first master that where he came from, the Dark side of the Force is called Belial. It somehow stuck and Veradun still calls it like that from time to time. His Dark side attunement is absolute and he embraces every letter of the Sith Code without doubt, conflict is the base for development and progression, peace is stagnation. War shall never end. The strongest suppliments for his emotions are anger, pain and fear. Anger because he suffers in pain and still feels fear, pain of his lungs and fear to lose the power he has gained, fear to see the Galaxy stagnate under the rule of Jedi, wrong Sith and worse, which also awakens the hate towards these parties in him.

Juggernaut - Veradun has suffered a lot of wounds, injuries and went through a lot of pain in his life. It fuels him when he feels it, but he also grew a strong resistance against pain. Being wounded by bolts, swords, claws or fangs, lightsabers, blasters or grenades, most parts of his body can tell one story or another which made him suffer.

Detoriation - The burden of every Sith or Dark sider who is embracing the Dark side, is the decaying and corruption of the body. Even though Veradun is only thirty-one years old, his skin looks like that of a fifty year old. Every use, every emotion is driving him closer to his death, carrying him with slow steps to his own demise.

Young - Veradun is still young and his contact to the actual galaxy is only a decade old, therefore he lacks experience. Experience against more powerful enemies, experience to face off against taunts or tricks of those who are veterans of combat and warfare.

Crusader - There is little place for interpretation or aspects of the Dark side, either one serves it or one opposes it, there is no middle ground. Veradun despises those who try to combine the Dark side with profane goals or ideologies. The Sith should be free of this nonsense and focus on their aspiration to mastering the Dark side instead of mastering the worlds of the Galaxy. The Dark side gives power, power gives rule and rule oppresses those who are too weak to find it themselves.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Army Name: Black Fist Warband
  • Classification: Private Army of non-sensitives around a core of Force users
  • Affiliation: Darth Veradun, Dark Side of the Force
  • Army Symbol: See below.
  • Description:
The Black Fist was unofficially formed on the prison colony already, when Darth Veradun formed a host of warriors to take over the Old Camp and those which survived the following encounter with the slavers guards would follow him to the stars. But only a handful of these men are left.

Since his time in the Sith Empire and his workings for both Lord Cronos and Darth Xardas, his retinue steadily grew. Not because he was seeking active recruitment, but because individuals, especially Sith and soldiers of these, maybe saw an opportunity with him. An opportunity to follow in the footsteps of great conquerors, an opportunity to really embrace the Dark side and bring its ignorant opposers down.

Darth Veradun never took an apprentice from this pool, only baiting with the possibility so the Sith Warriors would seek for his attention with brave or cruel deeds, pleasing their liege but never getting close to his actual approval. Yet he highly appreciates each and every Sith Warrior for their pure devotion to conflict, violence and the Dark side.

Since then the warband grew into a good sized division of various soldiers and warriors, all based aboard the Valor, the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer of Darth Veradun he inherited from Lord Cronos.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Valor, Resurgent-class Star Destroyer
  • Goals: Crusaders for conflict and the Dark side, apt followers of the Sith code.
  • Reputation: Fierce opponents, cruel and reckless warriors of the Dark side, conflict devoted, strongly kraterocratic and indifferent to species and origin.
COMPOSITION INFORMATION
  • Army Size: Large
  • Composition:
  • Dei Irae: The company of Sith Warriors following nothing but the Sith Code and their devotion to the Dark side and therefore fierce combatants and warriors. They are speartip in conflicts but more related to a sledgehammer, battering through resistance like a hot knife through butter. They usually carry one or two lightsabers, carry armor and are aggressive fighters.
  • Mortis Regiment: A regiment of troopers, well trained and equipped they are acting both as guard and infantry in the conflicts of Darth Veradun. They are the biggest fighting force in his service.
  • Cult of Bloodwyn: They are cultists of the Dark side and usually those who feed the Dei Irae with new recruits, revering a pantheon of Sith as the true and only Sith and due to a ruse and cunning event, Darth Veradun as their heir and speaker. They are not criminals but well organised and structured, following a hierarchy and possessing great potential in regards to intelligence operations and knowledge gathering.
