DESCRIPTION
As part of the Techno Union, the synchronous interaction between any member and the many droids and their many functions must be kept in a balance, and they should compliment one another. In this, the engineers of the Union developed this droid as a companion to the faction's foremost group of organics: the Obsidian Order. Its purpose is simple and supplemental. Through the many challenges a particular member of the Order may face, the VC Droids may be outfitted to either heighten the individual's existing abilities, or to fill gaps and prevent vulnerabilities. There are a wide range of options, as customisable per the owner as the Order's modular armour sets.
Upon ordering the droid, the parts must be chosen based on category. The droids are limited by the number of slots they have, and no more optional components may be installed than there are available slots. Some of the options are self-explanatory, such as the blasters and slugthrowers which are comparable to what is commonly used, others require explanations detailed below.
The retractable spear is as pictured. A segmented, nearly whip-like appendage with a pointed tip and serrated sides that causes great damage to flesh.
The sawblades have a maximum effective range of two metres.
The slicing tool is much like the interface arm that Astromech droids use. It is necessary for the VC Droid to attempt any computing activities.
The interrogation arm has multiple attachments that come in the kit when the droid is ordered. Such tools are a no-stun shock arm, a truth serum syringe, and a holoprojector capable of displaying user-set images, videos, or streams.
The side-mounted arms are grabbing-type. They serve no other purpose than to pick up, hold, and move things. They are incapable of wielding weapons (even swords -- it's not in the programming). Their maximum load capacity is 18.2KG.
The shield generators provide protection from standard blasters, ion lasers, and electrical surges. EMPs will still be effective. Choosing only one will weaken the maximum strength of the shields.
The electronics jammer works as a scrambler, rendering other electronics inert or defective. Blasters may misfire or fire unexpectedly, scanners will scramble, and other droids may encounter interference issues. Electronic optical devices such as night vision will become scrambled or cease to operate.
The advanced sensor array provides greater sensory ability to the droid, such as life signs, heartbeat, infra-red, and several other sensor types.
The advanced computer skills array adds a new series of runtimes, programmes, and databanks that create a more adept slicing droid. While default software that accompanies the slicing arm is useful, this array puts the VC Droid above-par with an Astromech's hacking ability.
