VARZALI KHORZA

In the history of the Galaxy, there is possibly no species as undeservedly hated as the Ryn. While some had a knack for games of chance and swindling, they only made for a small fraction of the species. Yet, the repercussions were unavoidable and reverberated through the generations. The Ryn were looked on with disgust and mistrust, often the subjects of prejudice from other species. Yet, in the past 800 years, their reputation has marginally improved due to the help of Ryn agents on behalf of the old Rebellion.
Varzali Khorza was born to this new generation of Ryn on the pilgrim moon of Jedha. His parents were both devout members of the Church of the Force, though mixed with some ancient Ryn superstitions. His mother, mildly sensitive to the Force, used her ability to be a card harrower: one who divines the future with cards. His father, on the other hand, was a non-sensitive street vendor. It was here that Varzali's love of cooking began.
As Varzali grew up, he knew he could not stay on Jedha. He decided to make his own stakes in the Galaxy. For a time, he served as a scout in a resistance group against the First Order, as he did not stand their existence as a humanoentrist power. But as the First Order waned, Varzali eventually started to settle down. He met a Ryn woman, Maarah, and started a family with her. They had twins: a girl named Sinfi and a boy named Marvolo.
For a time, life was bliss. Yet, in this age of progress, prejudice against the Ryn has not been stamped out. A mob of Ryn-haters found their homestead and set it ablaze. Varzali was the only one to survive the inferno. From then, he had a long period of bitterness and anger against the Galaxy. With the brightness of his life extinguished, he offered his skills as a scout to bounty hunting....often on highly dangerous, almost suicidal missions.
Yet, Varzali eventually pulled himself out of his self-destructive path. He knew it's not the memory Maarah would have wanted for him. Thus, he went back to something that brought joy in his heart: cooking. He now travels the Galaxy, setting up a mobile food stand based around traditional Ryn cuisine and a few recipes he gathered in his years. He now seeks to help heal others by offering a warm meal in their bellies, and good company.

Strengths
- Master Chef: Since he was a boy, Varzali has been around cooking. He helped his father in his food stand, cooked meals for his resistance comrades, and for others. He has refined his skills to where he is highly adept at making homestyle cuisine. His style might remind people of a meal around the dinner table at home with family.
- Shadows of the Old Life: During turbulent periods in his life, Varzali has acted both as a rebel scout and a bounty hunter. Despite leaving that life, he retains those skills, which makes him highly capable as a fighter. He also retains contacts from this period, both legitimate and illegitimate. Thus, he has connections to different resources if he feels the need to help others out.
- Victim of Prejudice: As a Ryn, Varzali knows the prejudice against his people. He notices how unwelcome he is sometimes. He knows, unfortunately, when to take a cue to leave when there's a large crowd of anti-Ryn individuals. It's an unfortunate truth he's had to live with all his life.
- Sadness behind Mirth: With the loss of his family, Varzali occasionally falls into a depression as he copes with their senseless deaths. It is truly a touchy subject for him to talk about and does not take insults to their memory lightly.
-

- A navaja-style vibroknife, usually used to de-skin meats, but also for defense
- A double viol that he will occasionally sit down and play, if the food crowd does not keep him busy
- Various cooking utensils including a soup cauldron, mobile grill set up, pots, pans, etc. He is well equipped to cook most meals he serves.
-
- The Decennial Pheasant, his personal VCX-100 light freighter
-
- CH-3F, a masculine-programmed, rusted grey T7-series astromech Pheasant's co-pilot, mechanic, and food-server when Varzali sets up shop.
