Description: This hand and a half sword was made personally for Dred Varad of Clan Varad. Varad Designs created the sword in particular with Dred Varad's size and strength in mind to that the Mandalorian could play to these advantages. The sword is considered a hand and a half in terms of classification. As with many Mandalorian weapons it was forged from Mandalorian Iron, Beskar, ensuring that it is resistant to lightsabers and capable of matching them in terms of combat effectiveness. The sword was also coated with a Mullinine weave ensuring that after it was sharpened it would hold its edge for an incredibly long time without the need for maintenance.
Quite simply this sword is massive but not quite a two handed weapon in terms of length however in terms of weight, due to the beskar used in its creation, it weighs just over twice as much as an average sword created to similar specifications. Its weight is both an advantage and a disadvantage. As far as purely advantageous properties are concerned the sword, adding its weight to the already formidable strength of Dred Varad, can cause devastating attacks. It can quite literally cut a man in half vertically if the proper application of force is put behind it.
Now on to the weaknesses. Obviously the sword is incredibly heavy when considering a sword its size usually weighs half as much thanks to the beskar component. A normal man would need to hold it with two hands to use it properly and would likely tire quickly. Dred Varad, due in part to his prodigious amount of physical strength, can wield the sword in one to the same effect the average man could and two hands to a much more limited effect of fatigue. Of course no matter who is wielding the sword it is a slow weapon due to its weight and size.
Aside from the above mentioned qualities the sword has a single special feature. Its hilt is equipped with a minor power cell which can be attached to a small power cord capable of being hooked to an electrode on one of Dred Varad's gauntlets. The wire electrically bonds the metal of the sword via the electrode and when activated essentially transforms Dred into a lightning rod. Electricity he can block with the sword will run through the blade, and himself, before being dispersed into the ground harmlessly leaving Dred equally unharmed. A nice trick when faced with force lightning. Of course if the wire running from the sword hilt to the electrode on Dred's arm were ever severed the quality would cease to function and he still needs to be able to make contact with his sword as well meaning that multiple angles of attack can prove troublesome.
