Description: The Glactic Republic, in desperate need of newer model ships to combat against aging technology vessels, began to source design ideas and concepts to corporations still loyal to its' cause. The idea behind the Valkyrie class was one of heavy equipment transport and rapid troop deployment. Capable of carrying a substantial number of vehicles both large and small, as well as a full company of soldiers into any battle in a single drop. The ship is fitted with a small assortment of armaments intended for delivering substantial damage to ships of relative size that would venture into its' path. Where vessel is equipped with advanced deflector shields, the hull is comprised primarily of Neutronium, which serves to further protect the ship from volleys of enemy ordnance if primary shields fail.

The electromagnetic plasma cannon is a nod to the Umbaran weapon technology dating as far back as the Clone War era, of which this weaponry was installed as a standard to all Umbaran tanks, starfighters, and turrets. This tech has been shared over the centuries during its integration and military cooperation with the Galactic Republic. Future cooperation may see this weapon integrated with Republic tanks and starfighters. Though the weapon is incredibly powerful, and capable of inflicting devastating area of effect damage, it is a slow to charge weapon, and cannot be held once charged. Thus to be accurate and effective, shots must be properly targeted and led. The weapon can be fired once every five seconds. Given that this is a dropship, and not an assault or gunship, the purpose of this weapon is primarily to clear an area for troop and vehicle deployment, or to force open entryways of structures.

Intent: To create a new heavy dropship for an aging Republic fleet.
Who Can Use This: The Republic, Allies

Hello there, nice sub!

On size and weapons:

This is really a mini-capital ship in its own right. This vessel is outside of the limits in the template in terms of size and mounts some serious weaponry. A vessel of this scale would struggle to power 2 heavy turbolasers, and by all rights should be more concerned with dealing with ground targets and enemy fighters anyway. I'm going to request the following edits:

Change Squadron Count to 2
Reduce to a single Turbolaser

Now the electromagnetic plasma cannon has a very small wookie article. Do you think you could expand on how powerful this would be compared to typical laser cannons? Then we can work out how much firepower this should have overall.

The description could maybe do with a little more fluff adding to it, but it's not something I'll hold you to! :)

Could you please expand on the description of the weapon in the submission please? How did the manufacturer come into possession of Umbaran technology?

It's very powerful, but fires slowly. So is it intended to be used against ground targets, to open up armoured fortresses for assault?
