Description:

With the Red Ravens going to war, it was paramount to start securing their many urban worlds with some form of armored vehicle capable of fighting both infantry and other forms of armored vehicles. However as a criminal organization the Red Ravens simply did not have the man power to have people manning and posting up on these sorts of patrols. So they turned to Arakyd Industries to build them a droid capable of sticking to the enemy in the streets.

Thus the UW-50 was born, a fourth degree battle droid walker that could secure the streets along side Arakyd industries many droid infantry units. Smaller and more compact than most walkers this droid stands at about two meters tall and is perfect for moving around and patrolling street level operations as well as being excellent guards for landing pads. They function on a single engine which pressurizes hydraulic oil to move it's limbs, it's coolant system is of course argon gas operated and since it is a lighter walker it's capable of moving at faster speeds. It's not going to run a marathon and win the gold but it can move at a marginal pace.

It's programming is of your average droid, it takes orders, has a masculine vocal programming, can be set to patrol, stand guard, engage enemies, etc etc. Unlike most droids in the galaxy like the confederate B series who had notions of self preservation, the UW-50 has no such desires or wants. It is a cold, emotionless, and uncaring machine that will follow orders and give it's existence up at the drop of a credit if it is ordered to.

But what helps set it apart more is is the mesh of Agrinium underneath it's durasteel frame. Acting as a faraday cage the Agrinium helps minimize EMP and ion based attacks, while this is in no way saying a large scale EMP won't knock it out. But it helps resist smaller ion based attacks such as grenades and small arms fire, but larger cannons and bombs will knock it out of the fight instantly.

Another of it's fantastic features is it's heavy blaster cannon and duel fifty caliber machine guns. The main gun is capable of piercing tank armor with repeated shots and will devastate light armored vehicles along with it's machine guns. But it's especially effective against infantry as it can accurately mow down light to heavy infantry with it's .50 caliber ammunition.

But there are drawbacks to the machine. It's easy to destroy, concentrated blaster fire will do it, a 40 mm grenade launcher, even a simple thermal detonator will send this up in smoke. It's weak points include it's exposed forward head, and it's limbs. A shot to the head with a larger caliber weapon or assault rifle can disable it and destroy it. It's not the smartest droid in the galaxy either, with a lack of self preservation or emotion it will normally stay and fight to the death unless otherwise told to retreat by it's superiors. And while it is made for urban warfare it can be taken to other locations but as it is smaller it will more than likely be outclassed by larger vehicles.

This is a great droid to have to secure your cities and places of business. It's capable of hitting hard and taking down the enemy in the streets and it will perform for you.

Not too dissimilar from the CIS Spider Droids, just a little bit more heavily armed. I'll allow this without development because the concept is so similar.

Approved.
