Unorthodox Seclusion.0

Sochi awaited in the hangar the arrival of her Padawan. She told him a specific time. Seeing as how it was pretty close to the intended time, he would be popping up any moment now. It had been a few weeks since they did any serious one on one training like they did when Ru brought up the Matukai Philosophy. In some ways it was better to focus on the strengths of an students rather than try to make up for their weaknesses. Some cases were like that, but her Padawan was a pretty special case. This kept her interested in the ways she went about training the young man. In seclusion, she felt it was needed. There would be things he would come to learn, that he couldn't have in the temple. Lessons from other sects he had probably never interacted with. Along with that he would be practicing his normal skills, and assessing different forms.

She conversed with her personal droids about the trip. She went over things to make sure everything was in place, and prepared correctly. She hadn't a want for anything to go wrong. Though she wasn't looking for them to.

He had fled a military mission, the maiden voyage of a fleet. He recalled what happened after the briefing when everyone left the room. He'd received transmission from his Master, requesting his attention in person. She wouldn't have made such a call if it wasn't important, after all, he was commanding three capital warships at the time. Now he floated alone in space, drifting. He felt R9 kick in the thrusters and the vehicle dived. The droid was doing all the flying with the coordinates given to him. He would arrive precisely on time, astromechs were good like that. Hasjo had spent his time in the cockpit meditating on the thoughts that flooded through his mind.

When he opened his eyes next, it was due to the absence of engine noise. The ship had landed in a hanger unfamiliar to him. He glanced around before unbuckling his harness. Thumbing the Open Hatch key, the cockpit's roof slid backwards. He stood up and leapt from the vehicle, slamming to the ground with a heavy thud. He may not be as tall as other Nautolans, and shorter than many other species. But Hasjo was still powerful in muscle. He'd seen plenty of conflict already on distant planets. Alone and in groups. He was a seasoned warrior now. No veteran was he but he could hold his own. Though that was his military service record speaking, and not that of his Order's record. "Master" he bowed.

Sochi bowed her head slightly to show her respect for her student. She had trained multiple students and only two had ever made it far to this level. In fact Hasjo had skipped a couple of stages, much as she when she was a Padawan herself. The dedication he had payed off, and showed in his attitude and his abilities. Though his connection wasn't inherently the strongest, she had left him with techniques to use, and she hoped that the lessons to come would prove rather helpful. She took a step forward, and the droid left the area boarding the ship to further access if everything was taken care of for the trip. She would disclose the first locations, but the second would remain hidden. There was no particular reason behind it but she felt it should be an element of surprise behind it.

"Greetings Padawan, first were going to board and hold a training session while we're on course for Shili. I hope you said your goodbyes for now, we won't be returning for quite some time." She said speaking softly.

It was revealed, the first location would be Shili, and it was here, the homeworld of Sochi, that Hasjo would continue her training. Atleast until Ru felt he was ready to advance in level, and reach the second planet. She didn't wanna waste precious time. She turned around, and began walking up the ramp of the ship slowly,

"Let us go Padawan, we have much to do, and all of this time is valuable." She said turning around, and gesturing with her finger as she placed emphasis on her words.

"Greetings Padawan, first were going to board and hold a training session while we're on course for Shili. I hope you said your goodbyes for now, we won't be returning for quite some time."
Hasjo nodded in understanding. He turned to R9-LH that was climbing out of the Delta-7. He knelt beside the droid. He didn't hold attachment with the droid, but he considered him a loyal companion. Placing a hand on the astromechs metallic surface. He informed him "
You won't be coming with me this time, R9. Take my ship back to Coruscant. I don't know when I'll be back, so I guess this is goodbye for me." The droid made a few burping beeps, tweets and dings. They sounded sad - for a droid that spoke in binary. His sensory eye turned downcast and he waddled back to the Delta-7, spinning around to watch the departing back of the Nautolan.
Sochi said "Let us go Padawan, we have much to do, and all of this time is valuable."
"At once" Hasjo confirmed, quickening his pace. He didn't turn to give his comrade a final farewell glance. R9 seemed to notice this, making one last final tweet. Hasjo marched up the ramp of the ship, entering the bowels of the vessel.

Sochi boarded and continued on the ship, she heard the ramp closing behind her. She kept looking forward while she walked. "Now, Hasjo Hallu welcome onboard The Crucible, this is a Jedi training cruiser. It was made specifically for the training of a Jedi" she said motioning with her hands as she spoke, and walked down the metallic corridors of the ship. "There are specific rooms made for specific training regimes, you will be doing much of your training here while we're on course for Shili." She said stopping when the came to an opening in the hallway. It would lead them to a Conference room. She approached a large Holoprojecter in the center and stood their. After pressing a few buttons she pulled up an blue, shimmering image of her homeworld.

"This is our objective, Shili isn't like the Jedi temple." She spoke, "But first, tell me Padawan what will be your specialty or occupation as a Jedi?" She asked, then she began to speak once more to follow up, "Do you lean more towards a consular, guardian, or sentinel?" She said clearing up any confusion there might've been.

Hasjo's eyes remained ahead, his peripheral vision absorbing all things around him. The metallic surface was familiar to him. The sturdiness of the floor beneath him was comforting. His tendrils picked up the natural pheromones Sochi Ru - and all others - reeked with. She always seemed calm, from his assessment. Though without being underwater, it was harder to say how she felt. His eyes focused on the holoprojector where the planet of Shili was displayed. These scenario's were familiar to him, as a member of the Republic Navy.
"This is our objective, Shili isn't like the Jedi temple." [member="Sochi Ru"] spoke, "But first, tell me Padawan what will be your specialty or occupation as a Jedi?"
"Jedi Guardian, Master. Though before this.. isolation, I had wished to be a Jedi Temple Guard, now. I'm not sure." He had spoken softly, sounding relatively as upset as Hasjo would allow himself to be. He took a deep breath and pushed aside those thoughts and emotions. The Nautolan was clearly built to be the Guardian rather than any other. He was naturally strong as a Nautolan, and constant action had made his body even more powerful. He wielded his lightsaber as an extension of himself. A true representative of the lightsaber - but he lacked a strong connection to the Force.

He would be looking at these metallic walls for quite some time. Going back to the answer she received in response to her question, she to began to converse with her Padawan. "A Guardian you say? Hmm an excellent path for you." She said before bringing up one of her hands slowly, and placing her index finger on her chin. She pondered for a moment. The young mans training was being evaluated. She looked down at the metallic flooring for a moment, then slowly brought her head up to look at her Padawan.

"A Guardian, then that's what your training will prepare you for from now on. ." She said, then she looked to her pupil. It would seem maybe he was struggling with something. "Is there something bothering you Padawan?" She asked softly turning her attention back to the projected image of Shili. This young man would probably go on to be one of her best students, apand she saw a bond grow over the time, she would not allow him to second guess himself or his abilities, not at this point on his journey. He would soon be knighted.

"A Guardian you say? Hmm an excellent path for you. A Guardian, then that's what your training will prepare you for from now on. ." Master Ru said, then she looked to Hasjo. "Is there something bothering you Padawan?" She asked softly turning her attention back to the projected image of Shili. Hasjo glanced down, his eyes squinted. As a Nautolan he had no eyelids, and sometimes yearned to blink. He couldn't explain why, perhaps it was the fact he was raised among humans. He constantly saw them do it, especially when upset. He had always smelt their emotions. He looked back to Sochi "Yes, Master. The Order has been my home since I remember. They took me in when I was four. It's hard to leave." He moved across the room to stand closer to the projection.

This worry was expected, and Sochi had the same issues. It was knowing that it was decisions like this that she would be faced with consistently throughout her career as a Jedi. She felt it was the best decisions to leave the Republic and fulfill her duty to the force as a protector and guardian to the weak, and promoter of peace. As much as she pondered if this decision was the best of all possible options, she had to think that she wouldn't regret it.

"Padawan," she said softly, and turning moving herself over to him and placing her hand on his shoulder. "You remind me so much of myself when I was a Padawan. You must understand, these are decisions you'll be faced with from this point on and though out the rest of your career as a Jedi. You mustn't regret any decisions, know that you made each decision for the best. Regret will lead to doubt, and doubt to suffering, and suffering, to the darkside." She said softly.

"When you are ready meet me in the sparring room. There your further lessons will begin. But now I'm assuming you want to visit your quarters and get yourself situated. Do what you must Padawan." She said calmly, and softly.

[member="Hasjo Hallu"]

Hasjo dismissed himself from the room. He stalked the corridors, painted a matte grey that reminded him of the warships he once commanded. Though they didn't feel so lonely. Such ships had been the size of cities, with populations just as equal. He found his personal quarters with the sliding of a metallic door. He entered, finding a room with only the bare essentials. The bed was flat and looked rough, the walls were marked with crooks that told the eye they were drawers and closets. He stepped forward and a closet door slid open, revealing plain clothes for him to wear. Moving to the bed, he sat. His thumb idly began to fiddle with the power control to his lightsaber, turning it down to the bare minimum. It was the setting oft used by younglings during training. It only left bruises.

His mind began to drift. He was elsewhere, on a distant planet when he was much younger. A fifteen year old padawan who was a bit hard to control. A stubborn boy. Tall skyscrapers towered over all, shadowing the planet of Coruscant. He could remember standing by the wall, and the guns shot above his head. And he kissed her, as though nothing could fall. Nothing could have kept them together. They had stole time, just for one day. He found himself slowly falling out of this memory of a time long ago. He was nearing his mid-twenties now, and he had never felt such attachment as that ever since. He had corrected himself, steeled himself against those form of emotions. Only to allow others to enter, but with the guidance of his Master. He was learning to overcome it.

He stood and hulked towards the training room in a plain brown tunic and trousers, with leather boots. The door slid open and he entered, prepared for training.

She had just set down the last couple of ball bearings when the door of the room slid open. She felt the presence of her Padawan, and not one of the maintenance droids. She slowly turned around and expressed a welcoming smile that was subtle, but very visible. She lowered her head to bow to the young man. She approached him slowly, motioning with her hands for him to follow her over to the the more open space of the room, made for sparring.

"First we will begin with some Velocities." She said softly, "Velocitites are training drills that usually involve two students practicing sequences of attacks and parries against each other, repeating the same patterns over and over, while constantly increasing the speed of their movements." She said explaining what they were.

"Today, I will be your partner. Draw your lightsaber Padawan, and let us begin." She said sternly, reaching for her lightsaber from her belt and igniting the cerulean blade. If he was to be a Guardian he would need to excel in physical disciplines, she was certain this was his niche.

"Today, I will be your partner. Draw your lightsaber Padawan, and let us begin." [member="Sochi Ru"] said sternly
He did as instructed having quietly listened to the introduction. His green, webbed hand curled around the tiny lightsaber hilt that he had constructed. Far too small for his palm, but he liked it that way. His hand engulfed the hilt and the plasma burst to life with a familiar hiss. The cyan blade illuminated the nearby objects around him with it's deathly hot glow. He took a stance of Shii-Cho. He positioned his feet to the left, twisted his body and craned his neck to face her, lightsaber held before him. Left hand held over the right. He was minimising his body as a target. "Ready when you're, Master" he confirmed.

(I apologize! This faction event has taken up a lot of time, but no excuses.)

She brought her blade up slowly, with both of her hands wrapped around the hilt. When her elbows reached about eye height she took a step forward, and performed an front flip, coming down with vertical slash, which would be followed by her jumping in the air, spinning and bringing her blade around in an diagonal arc. She repeated this method continuously, as part of her Velocities. She sped up her movements naturally, something all Togruta had an affinity for. She had no ill intention of trying to harm him so her form was more relaxed, something unusual for an Ataru user, but this probably stemmed from her years of teaching, and her mastery of the form. She could turn down the notches whenever she needed. All the while she was analyzing his moves, defense, and parries. Shii-Cho isn't really good in one on one scenarios, especially when facing an opponent whose sole purpose is to get up and personal.

As she came crashing down with a vertical attack, he brought his blade up with a single hand, horizontally. Plasma collided with a shriek and fizzle. His eyes remained concentrated on her movements, following every step closely. As she spun and launched another assault diagonally, he met it with an opposing upward diagonal defence. He repeated this process of horizontal and diagonal defence as she continued to speed up. He held the lightsaber with only one hand, his left hand held out for balance as each of her attacks crashed against him. His body remained motionless all but for his arm. His right arm was doing all the work for him.

After performing her series of moves she let up slightly, and began to assume a more defensive form. Taking a step back and assuming a Soresu opening stance. She tightened her grip around her lightsaber hilt, while her opposite hand was held up in a guard. She began to prepare herself for his attacks, making herself comfortable with the strict defensive disciplines of Soresu. It had been some time since she'd used such a form, she thought back to her years of learning it under Master Kiskla Grayson; that was quite the time ago. She refocused, and ended the series of flashbacks that she brought back from the crevices of her memory.

[member="Hasjo Hallu"]

As she lessoned her attack, he began to step back. Giving her room as she reformed her stance into that of Soresu. He breathed calmly. He had been trained in Shii-Cho just like many other younglings of the Jedi Order, but had continued his training later on. He regularly went on missions alone, and doing such could be dangerous when outnumbered. The childhood teachings had become useful, and so it was what he now focused his training on. He lowered his blade to his hip and swung diagonally upwards in a slash across towards her chest, before suddenly spinning as the movement was complete to come around with a horizontal swing towards her hip. He would then spin back and continue this process. Faster and faster he would twirl, his blade becoming a haze of cerulean.

She was also surprised to see him using Shii-Cho, when they met he was more concerned with Djem So, either way he could be just as successful with one over the other, depending on his preference and discipline. Given his built, the wide arcs associated with this form seemed suitable for him. His first move would be throw, and this was an attack to area of her chest, she watched as his upwards attack closed in, she twisted her wrist to bat his blade away, then she became solid in her stance again. His next attack was a follow up of his first, and she brought her blade over her head, and to her side to cover her hip. She continued to make the transitions she needed to to maximize her defense. This continued and his movements got faster and faster as he continued. She hoped he wouldn't burn out, this would test his stamina as well.

[member="Hasjo Hallu"]

He had been studying into Shii-Cho, and soon would move onto another form as he grew further more adept. No longer able to become the Jedi Temple Guard he had aspired to be, his goals had been renewed. He hoped to hone the skills he excelled in to make up for that which he lacked. So he was seeking out to train himself to fit the role of Battlemaster of the Order. One day, he hoped. His repetitious strikes bounced off her blade as he continued, faster until he reached his zenith. Maintaining it's great speed. His body twirled in a way that no vertebrae species could. He was a hurricane of martial prowess as each strike caused an explosive hiss from the colliding plasma blades. His training in the military, and since he was a Youngling, had led to moments like this. Where he required his stamina. As a Nautolan, it was something he already had a great deal of, and such training had only made it greater. His strikes became more vicious and brutal against her, unable to speed himself up, he was now pushing his strength. With each successive blow, he slowly began to relent. His twirls became slower, his hits not so hard. And soon, he had altogether stopped. His breathing had remained a wave of calm throughout the velocities.

She pressed her had against the ignition button of her lightsaber, causing the blue blade to shrivel up and flow back into the place of its origin. She bowed, the hour was up, and she had left him wit yet another skill. As she slowly came up from her bow, she began to explain the purpose of that exercise. As she opened her mouth her consistent soft voice fluttered out,

"Good, the purpose of this exercise is to help you make your moves instinct. You will revert back to these basic maneuvers, whether you realize it or not. This is something you can consistently do for an hour each day to further hone your skills."

She motioned for him to follow her to the other side of the room where she set up a circle of candles, and had placed ball bearings upon them. She then looked to Hasjo, and motioned for him to step inside. Then she began the explanation.

"This exercise is called Faalo's Cadences. The primary purpose is to stand in the circle of candles with the ball bearings and attempt to strike the ball bearings without hitting the candles. Now, I have further modified this to your level of skill. 16290 ball bearings are placed within this circle." She said softly, then she took a step back.

"Your objective is to strike every fifth ball bearing without turning, preparing you for irregular attack patterns from all sides, and honing your control of your body and sensory awareness. You may begin whenever your ready."
