The days since Okuma scraped Braze off the pavement had been wild, fast, chaotic, and utterly unpredictable. He'd been putting off any kind of contact with his friends and family back home.

Braze knew Okuma Milogen would be monitoring every comlink call he made. He knew the line would be cut the moment he said too much.

Did she hate him?
How was Ko Vuto?
How was anyone?
Did they make it out okay? What was the state of Tython now?

So many questions left unanswered. So much guilt weighing down on him.

He knew he wouldn't be able to ask everything. Not safely, nor freely.
But maybe...just maybe...he could at least see if Loomi was alright.

Loomi had been in quite the state since Coruscant. It didn't help that the Core was lost that day, but after having to fight Braze and what happened to Ko, to say she was distressed was a bit of an understatement. Something was wrong with her friend, and she didn't know what. No answers ever seemed to come to her. He wasn't corrupted, some... strange man was with him who shot her to end their fight. He had to have been controlling Braze in some way, right?

Of course, she hadn't been prepared to receive a random call amidst her stress...

" . . . Hey."

"How... are you calling me?" Loomi asked, taking a nervous breath. "Are you safe? You shouldn't be trying to talk to me if it will get you hurt."

She sounded like a worried mother on the other end of the line.

"I memorized your number. " Braze offered simply in reply. " I'm okay... I will be alright, everything will work out in time.... Are... you okay?" Braze asked tactfully avoiding acknowledging the last bit Loomi said.
Belatedly he asked... "Where are you? " ​

"Sellia II... I-I'm back home," Loomi answered with a mutter.

This was all a lot.

"I'm not fine, I'm worried about you," she stated, composing herself. "What... made you have to do that?"

Braze frowned... what could he say...?

"I... It's..." he didn't want to lie to Loomi. He cared about her greatly. "It's complicated. " He offered softly. "I miss you." He added gently with a sad sentimental tone to his voice. "Don't worry about me... I will be ok. " Braze promised. "Is... do... do you know if Ko is okay? Or if... Zark is alive? " Braze asked really wanting to know if Ko Vuto and Zark San Tekka made it off planet alive.

"I don't know..." Loomi admitted. "Ko is... stable, but... I've been afraid to see him..."

A shudder ran down her spine. Would he be angry? She wanted to comfort him, but she didn't feel like her heart would be able to handle what she might encounter. It made her feel terribly guilty.

"It just feels like everything is falling apart..."

He let out a heavy sigh feeling guilty hearing just how upset she was. "Loomi...? I'm sorry. " Braze offered gently. It really did feel like their world had been shattered. Coruscant had fallen again and this time it seemed as if there was much more at steak in the Core that had been over taken by the Empire. "Has there been any word from the council?" Braze asked. "It might be safer.... this way. "

"Has there been any word from the council?" Braze asked. "It might be safer.... this way. "

"People are... leaving," Loomi shuddered. "It all feels like it's... falling apart. I don't know if we even still have a council..."

A sigh escaped her lips, slightly audible into her communicator.

"I don't know what we have left..." she admitted. "It's... never been this bad..."

Braze frowned softly, his voice low with feeling. "You've always been strong, Loomi… you just have to hold on a little bit longer. You're going to be okay. I promise, I'll find my way back to you. I don't know how long it might take… but maybe... We can meet again beneath the purple trees?"

He trailed off, hope and uncertainty threading through his tone.

"Sure..." Loomi agreed... "That... sounds nice..."

He was restraining himself. Loomi got the feeling that he wasn't as safe as he was trying to convince her he was.

"Please... take care of yourself."

Braze's voice crackled softly over the commlink, edged with worry, "I am taking care of myself… but you stay safe. Be careful, Loomi. The galaxy's not kind right now...it's VERY dangerous, more than ever. Try and... check on Aliris Tremiru too. I think she misses you as well... "

He paused, exhaling as he paced back and forth, glancing up at the stars like they might carry an answer to all of this back to him.

"Oh, and Loomi?"
His voice softened with something almost shy.

Silence.

Her heart sank. Of all the things that Loomi had ever experience in her life, this was easily the most terrifying. What did she even do? It all seemed so... hopeless. All she could really do was lay back down in her bed and stare off into space...

Some knight she was.

No. She had a direction now. She couldn't just shut down and sulk like she was helpless. Her friend was in danger and she was going to find out who was hurting her. All she had to go off of was that he knew Braze's parents... and that he was a he. It was something. Loomi would quickly gather up her things and set off to connect with the only family she knew Braze had...
