The Unity-class assault ship is designed directly on the tried and true design of the Acclamator-class assault ship of Clone Wars fame, originally produced by Rothana but re-done by Rendili StarDrive. An almost faithful reproduction of the original design, the Unity-class is essentially one gigantic hangar, with troop berthing forward. Vehicle racks are mounted on the top of the massive open space that plays home to the vast majority of this ship's carrying capacity, making it easier to deploy gunships and escort fighters out of a top hatch while troops and vehicles disembark from the huge rear-mounted boarding ramp.

The Unity-class is not designed for combat; it should never be found holding in a battlezone. Instead the Unity is a pure troop lander, able to move into position fairly quickly and make a landing such that it can disgorge its troops and unload its entire complement, set up a forward command post and run an invasion landing from the relative safety of the command ship.
