Under the Sea is our Promised Data

Location: Kamino
Intent: Capture of data in facilities beneath Kamino's ocean surfaces
Transportation: Recalcitrant during space travel, 10-man submarine for underwater
Current Position: Onboard Recalcitrant loading up into Submarine.
Corruck knew this was probably one of the stupidest things he had done. What in the world had he been thinking? That entering Kamino air-space, without backup, forcing entry, and then sending a submersible into an ocean that had not been fully mapped, would give him some information on technology that could be used later and possible locations of caches. Corruck would laugh at himself, if he weren't the one that had made the mistake. He had brought some acquaintances from his most recent stint in the Rebellion, fortunately he had not been associated with the faction yet.

He knew that the possibility of actually finding the facility was less than a hundred to one. The possibility that if they found the facility it would have the data he was looking for, even less. The even faintest hope of that data being sound, almost impossible. Yet here he was, with a few friends he had rounded up for the run. He could trust most of them, most...

He looked around, the last of the supplies were being loaded onto the submarine. Soon they will drop out of the Recalcitrant and would be driving down to the last known coordinates of the facility. He smiled as he spoke, "Alright everyone. We know the drill. Move in, secure the facility, collect the data, and leave. No heroics, if we meet resistance, we deal with it together. Any questions?"

Razz smiled, he himself had never been on Kamino.

Razz smiled, he hadnt done a job n months, but he is young for a crime lord.

he slung his blaster rifle over his shoulder.

Razz walked closer to the Zann.

"It is nice to finally meet you Mr. Zann, I am Razz Michaels." Razz stuck out his hand and smiled/

he was ready.

The truth was, she did not actually 'know the drill.' This was Nozomi's first little escapade with someone about raiding super-secret facilities. Maybe this guy did that every day, but she was just a slicer at night and a personal trainer in the daytime. Although, she assumed that her day job was probably forfeit at this point. She had come across a branch in the Decision Tree, and had made her choice. This may or may not break the bank.

She was not the greatest hacker in the galaxy, or even in the little district on Nar Shaddaa they had picked her up from. But beggars can't be choosers, she supposed. She was glad to be on the adventure. A little bit of excitement and exploration never hurt anyone--unless it did, which was unfortunate. Kamino looked like an accident waiting to happen, actually. Especially when one is dropped in a water coffin from a space coffin. Her stomach was not ready for this.

When the man asked for questions, she had none, really. None that he could answer, anyway. Except for one, perhaps. "Do we get sent to Kessel if we fail?"

"It's Corruck, no need for formalities at this point, Razz." He shook the man's hand in a firm grip. He knew to always set a good first impression to those who showed a sign of respect. The confidence with which the man spoke told Corruck that he would have no trouble with this mission. The young woman however was a different story. Her body language told him that she was not used to this kind of mission.

The question she asked did not have the tell-tale signature of humor, of which Corruck knew all too much. He feigned surprise, lifting his hands in a shrug. "How did you figure me out so quickly?" He kept his face deadpan until a moment later. He then let a smile spread across it, just in case she needed the reassurance. A joke to the wrong person could be held as truth. He made sure to try and make it apparent that he was kidding. Then he spoke again, "I'll keep that under consideration. Of course I do not expect failure, but if threatening to send you to Kessel for failure will drive you, I will do so. If you, we, fail I will find out what all of you most fear and leave to that, and trust me I will find out one way or another." His insides wanted to burst out with laughter. Of course he could accomplish what he had promised, it was just a matter of would he. Yes, he would, but he truly would not wish to do that to them unless their failure was so immense that Corruck could not reconcile the losses.

It was precisely at this point, Juliette began to question her own sanity. But life is never dull around the Rebels and she would not have it any other way. Much had happened to her over the last weeks since her return from Monastery, mostly work with the Rangers and the Jedi, but now she was here, on leave so to speak, in a mission most likely to fail. She is a pilot through and through but today she will be working to add security and back up to the people here to retrieve data.

Although Rangers are famous for becoming one with their surroundings, blending and vanishing this however, would prove difficult. She stands alone for now, listening to the instructions while checking her weapons, a blaster and rifle. What makes her valuable as a pilot apart from the ability to fly well, is her eye. She is deadly accurate and it is no different with a gun or rifle in her hands.

She did not pay to much attention to the threats if they are to fail, only a small grin crossed her face as her eyes fell on the white haired man, and she had to wonder exactly what he feared.

"Juliette Moliere, call me Jules", she shot out her introduction as she locked and loaded.

Razz smiled at Corruk.

"Of course..." Razz folded his arms then chuckled when Corruk said he would find their deepest fear if they failed.

Razz smiled.

"If you are looking for fear Mr. Corruk, you will find nothing in me... fear is a trick that the mind plays on the weak." Razz said he looked at the others that was there, he then looked to [member="Tsukikaneko Nozomi"]

"Have faith my friend, we will not fail." Razz said, he always had been one to look at the positives.

"Good to have you with us." He replied to Juilette. He hoped that her abilities would be sufficient in case they came across resistance. He expected to come across defense turrets and similar measures, but nothing organic and nothing of incredible difficulty to overcome.

He had a lipless smile as Razz stated that fear was just a trick. He himself had thought that at one point. What Corruck had learned was that fear was not a trick, but it wouldn't be strong enough to hold you back if you fought it. He had been forced into situation like that where his fear was to be defeated in order to move forward. Always he had pushed on, even when his fear tempted to push him over the edge. No, fear was no trick. It was very real and it was the ultimate test of one's courage. That was what he learned and no theories so far had disproved it.

He turned to take in the whole group within his sight. "Any last questions? We have five minutes before the plunge if so."

Nozomi was more-or-less fearless in most things. They had found her on Nar Shaddaa, after all. Mister Tough Guy did not really scare her, but the last thing she wanted was to spend the rest of her life in some prison camp or in the depths of Kamino--which would mean she had better look at some nice pictures of land before she never saw it again. She peeked into her soiled yellow carrier bag and took a moment to look at all her slicing equipment. If something was missing, then yes, she would probably be down there forever. Good news: everything was present and accounted for.

Clicking the fasteners of the pouch flap shut, Nozomi returned her attention to the rest of her [hopefully] temporary mates. "Well, I guess we wanted adventure?" Or maybe that was just her. She still had no idea what exactly this group was. "I'd suggest we dive before we have second thoughts..."

Although she had been among them since they'd arrived at Kamino, Juwiela had remained decidedly silent, perfectly content in observing the scenario for the time being. Sure, she may have been Rogue Leader, but this wasn't another flight mission by any means, nor was it anything close. They were to pile into a submarine to discover a facility that may or may not actually exist, and on the off chance that it did there was a slim chance it was at this location anyhow. But it was a chance at adventure, and things had been quiet among the Alliance lately. So she would take any chance to get out and about.

Flashing a smile she shifted the durasteel staff across her back to a more comfortable position so it wasn't pressing against her spine, finally speaking up. "No questions from me." Her tone was calm, nonchalant, but there was a running undertone of friendliness to it. She was among friends, after all, and in some cases fellow Rebels, though some of them she didn't recognize as belonging to the ragtag group.

This would be her first venture underseas, and hopefully her last, if the winds of fate were kind. Something about the entire idea of being in a submarine under an ocean so vast made her uneasy, but it may have been the simple fact that the piece of machinery could breach at any moment. Though it was really no different than piloting her own ship in the vastness of space, that didn't mean she had to like it. But these were her people, or at the very least she felt obligated enough to go along. So she would, albeit quietly.

"Alright then. Everyone aboard. Remember to use the restraints until we enter the water. We may have turbulence so I would suggest keeping the restraints on until we have reached the facility." He walked into the submarine, the pilot's seat was empty. Until he sat slowly into it, he activated the systems and made sure that the controls were not changed from when he had set them up earlier. They seemed to be in order which left him to his thoughts, somewhere he did not want to be. He really hoped this was not just a big waste of time.

He thought to himself, "That would just be the way to end a bad week." He felt that this was truly a necessary risk. The possibility of finding caches with weapons and what not scattered about was far too important to be passed over. He still just hoped that it would tern out to be a good idea.

With the formalities over with and misgivings about their mission, Juliette followed the others into the submarine. A first for her, and she felt uneasy in the situation and in this metal beast. A starfighter entirely different and in them she felt at home, this made her feel claustrophobic.

She made her way to a seat and did as suggested, strapping herself into the seat, she rested her rifle over her lap and waited. Jules sat in silence for the most part, just watching the others as they gathered and did the same. She did not know them to be honest and pondered their abilities and positions within the Rebels, but they could just as easy return the favour.

Within ten minutes they were all set in and the submarine was on its course to the bottom of the sea. Corruck hardly had anything to worry about, as the submarine was too large for most of Kamino's underwater predators, and he doubted that the Kaminoans would have built their bases in or near the nests of the larger predators. There was the occasional bump as the vehicle encountered turbulence within the water, but for the most part it seemed spooky quiet, especially outside where the water was practically pitch black. Corruck had opted against using large search lights, he figured that might aggravate wildlife in the area, instead he was driving using sensors and low level red lights. They allowed him to see a mere five meters forward, enough to allow him to stop from hitting something like the sea floor, but not too much as to blink creatures that mind swim too close.

"ETA is five minutes max, probably less. Anyone have anything to say before we get in there? Now may be the only time to say it." He smiled to himself, it was more joking than anything else but he did want the message to get across just in case.
